One World Religion Group (What Could Go Wrong?)
Creative Minority Report ^ | 9/4/2014 | Matthew Archbold

Posted on 09/04/2014 11:16:59 AM PDT by markomalley

[Catholic Herald] While visiting the Vatican earlier today, Mr [Former Israeli President Shimon] Peres asked Pope Francis to head a parallel United Nations called the “United Religions” to counter religious extremism in the world today.

Peres said the United Nations and its peacekeepers “do not have the force or the effectiveness of any one of the Pope’s homilies, which can draw half a million people just in St Peter’s Square alone.”

“So given that the United Nations has run its course, what we need is an organisation of United Religions,” Mr Peres said, as “the best way to counteract these terrorists who kill in the name of their faith.”

“What we need is an unquestionable moral authority who says out loud, ‘No. God doesn’t want this and doesn’t allow it,’” he added

One world religious group in which "our common values" which has force. What could go wrong?

So two possibilities.

One. The group is totally useless and can't effect anything because, unlike the Catholic Church, most religions do not have a single authority. They plant trees and issue statements while the heads continue to roll.

Two. (And Much worse) This group is able to effect change based on common values, which if it includes all those other religions, means values other than God's. A one world religious group bases on man's values. No, that isn't scary at all.

The Pope running the one world religion is coming. He does have a throne. And a crown.

Won’t be the pope. Muslims would never get on board.

Don't you mean rabbis? It was Shimon Peres who made the suggestion, not the pope!

“United Religions” is a fraud group very popular with Episcopalians. A close family member who was an Episcopalian in a very Piskey part of the world (San Francisco) was dragged off to one of these meetings. The main pitch was to get the elderly to leave all their money to “United Religions,” which seemed in the long run to be sort of a Muslim version of Unitarianism, since it featured Islam heavily as a pattern. Most SF Episcopalians are not Trinitarian Christians, but more on the order of better dressed Unitarians, so this appealed to a lot of them.

Thank God this family member had the good sense to ask other people in the family what they knew about the group, which wanted to sign her up for some huge donation and a bequest on the very first meeting. But some elderly people won’t think twice, alas.

This is a very dangerous organization.

Please note that it was Shimon Peres who made this suggestion. Last time I checked, he wasn't Catholic.

Oh, and if you read the linked Catholic Herald piece, you'll note that the Pope didn't buy into the idea.

Just saying.

This can't end well.

According to Daniel (11:40-43) a united Europe led by Germany will wipe out the muzzies. They have one last Crusade in them. Led by the Church. Again.

Israel is looking to Germany since the US elected a basket case. Merkel was in Israel recently. Israel is buying weapons like submarines and tanks from Germany.

The Pope has been reaching out to the Orthodox Catholics and Protestants. This may or may not come to pass. Time will tell.

A little more than one-quarter of it in a three-year period!
