We all need to turn back to the Bible and follow what it says. Ephesians 5:22-33.

Using my 20 year old cousin as an example, any young woman who was brought up “in the church” despite self-reporting as “non-practicing” is going to support the “socially appropriate” viewpoint that abortion is birth control. Despite being raised in a conservative Catholic household, my cousin and most of her friends identify as socially liberal and believe a woman’s “right to choose” is as important as my right to protect myself with a firearm.

Our youth have been completely brainwashed by the schools and media.

Those who kill children are evil. Think of the child murderers in this country. From John Wayne Gacy to Andrea Yates to Wayne Williams, to Adam Lanza. Each murdered multiple and even if they did repent, I cannot imagine that it was enough.

Women who employ an abortionist or pharmacist to murder their babies are little different from the aforementioned child killers, but I see very few women that have had abortions actually repent. Instead, many women that have had abortions are proud of their abortion and often go on to talk about how they made the right choice.

Now, could you imagine if Adam Lanza or Andrea Yates told us that they were proud of murdering children and talked about making the right choice?

80% of women having abortions Identify as Christians

No surprise there. 75% of all people in the USA identify as Christians. They have the right to do so.

Salvation, because of Christ, is an individual act.

Actually, yes, I have met many women who have killed their children through abortion that have deeply regretted their decision to do so.

The ones defending abortion as a gift? There will literally be Hell to pay for that.

God works everything to His purpose, even evil. Heck, especially evil. Was there any aspect of the crucifixion of Christ that wasn’t through-and-through evil? Right down to Pilate washing his hands of the matter?

Wasn’t that the point? Evil is going to do what its going to do, AND GOD WILL STILL WIN.

Paul was a murderous scumbag. He ended up contributing about half the NT to the final Canon. All he thought he was doing was writing letters. Funny how that happens.

Nothing is outside of God’s ken. Were an abortionist to have a ‘road to Damascus’ moment and then devote his life toward spreading the Gospel of Jesus, I’d think that while he would be accountable for each and every sin, his soul would be claimed by the same person through whom every miserable sinner is claimed, who call upon Him and believe that we are saved through the blood of Christ.

i don’t normally comment on these threads but, the initial shock of the headline and subsequent comments here made me look a bit deeper. that, and since i consider you to be the FR resident expert on the matter of the murder of the unborn; and that i trust your judgement about these things, lead me to change my normal pattern.

leaving aside the ommissive and biased qualities of this “article,” and stating from the get go that i believe that any “counting of the people” in anyway is deeply immoral (note: see the life of King David), i went to the tool of the enemy (us census abstract) and found the general percentages of the whole US pop to reflect the PP article, survey, poll claims. this counting of the people is wrong, and it is one of the very few areas where i part with the Framers. since the enemy has compiled a weapon here, i can without disobeying God, justifiably, use the enemy’s weapon against the enemy (yes, i know Madision wanted this for proportional representation, i believe that could have been accomplished in other ways).

anyway, so it appears that of women who go for abortions, who self-identify with a religious denomination (or not) tend to do so in the same percentages as that of the general poplulation. no surpise. so this is just another classic way to lie with statistics. make out *all* “self-identified Christians,” and therefore all children of Jesus,” to be hypocrites by artfully using the fact that most people in this country identify as Christians (roughly 80% in the us census.”

the answer to this is so what. this result would be expected from the way the sample was conducted and it says zero about true born-again Christians as we know that self-identifying as a “Christian” is likely just an artifact of our founding as a Christian nation.

the only interesting difference i found (not checked with correlation, etc.) is that the self-confessed non-believers polled at 20-something% by PP and are only by my math about 14% of general US pop according to the census abstract figures.

Is there a question in there somewhere? You are wondering how they know they are christian or what religion they are?

You are shocked to learn they are christian? I am not. Who do you think is on that abortion table? Just some unsaved sinner? Get real.

It’s called temptation. It affect the men, the women in your church and I don’t care which church you are a member of. Odds are there is a woman sitting in YOUR church who in some time in her life has an an abortion. It could have been she was a teenager and it could have been last week. I promise you it has happened.

Did I just shove something very ugly in your face? Well good! Because if your church is not preaching a pro life message/sermons. If your church is not offering post abortive programs (forgiveness) for women. If your church does not in some way help in pregnancy crisis programs then I honestly believe YOU ARE IN THE WRONG CHURCH.

Abby Johnson said it best. Abortion has been allowed to go on for 40+ years not because of Planned Parenthood, prochoice or any other laws it is allowed because of APATHY! Mostly apathy in our churches! Abby said this!! She is correct.

Little side bar here to on Abby. She would talk about when she worked at Planned Parenthood about how many christians came in for abortions. “for rape, incest and for me” was what they would say. Some of them praying for forgiveness on the abortion table. Yea how about that? Something for the abortion staff to joke about in the back. Not kidding.

The writers of the article are clearly dishonest people, the article shouldn’t have been posted.

The writers? How many people in America identify as “Christian”? We are a “Christian” nation are we not? Like I said before who do you think is on that abortion table?

We can argue about the fact they are true “Christians” but that goes without saying. When asked they, the patients going for abortions said they were “Christian” as apposed to being “Muslim” or “Buddhist” or “Jewish”.

“Probably because churches stress purity, (as they ought to) and these girls find their reputation, careers, and parental approval far more important than the fact that they have a human being growing inside of them.”

I was told this story by the Pregnancy Crisis Center in my area.

A local Pastor forced his teen daughter to have an abortion because he did not want his churches reputation tarnished. I don’t know which church it is in Charleston, West Virginia only that it was one of the large ones. The man a the center would not say. So you all want to tell me this crap does not happen? I have heard it first hand.

I wish I did know which church it was in Charleston because then their reputation would be tarnished. I would be sure to not only never step foot in there but make sure everyone knew what that Pastor did to his teen daughter.

I would have more respect for that Pastor if his daughter had the baby and put it up for adoption.

Yes the lying writers of this dishonest article.

Did you see posts 12 and 18?

The numbers are wrong and why would they so dishonestly put in these FAKE numbers? “”Those who claim to know Jesus and who protest against abortion the most account for nearly 80% of all abortions.””

The 80% is way off, and they have any idea if these people are even pro life, much less how they describe them.

It is a totally dishonest piece.

(Xlibris Corporation, 2012) So Doctor Alveda King and Dr.La Verne Tolbert Published this in 2012 meaning this was already one year old.

Sarah Terzo did not publish this to “Clinic Quotes” until August 22, 2013.

I hate to be your college professor but you need to look a little more careful.

I don’t get your point, show me your numbers, mine are dated 2014 and as far as I know are the ones Guttmacher has used since 2008.

Show me your Guttmacher numbers and then explain why they call 80% of those females in their numbers “Christian”, if their own numbers show that only 655 of the women are Christian.

Then explain what data they are using to justify labeling the women this way. “”Those who claim to know Jesus and who protest against abortion the most.....”” when they don’t even know if the women are prolife or not, nor the level of their claim to know Jesus?

Show me your numbers.

Sarah Terzo’s Data was the only ones I had to work with.

However as FReerers are you all proved some newer data.

It still proves my point. There are Christians having abortions.

The point is we need to address that in our churches so that Guttmacher does not have any data showing that Christians are having abortions. Don’t you agree?

They don’t have any data do they?

I thought they were just lying about what the Guttmacher data is.
