It’s one of those double pictures, huh?

Yeah, kind of makes me dizzy after awhile, but the artist made quite a point!

He had to have laughed himself silly over that one. Have you seen all the weird species native to Australia? Just wow!

Unlike man Christ had a Divine nature, that man needs if he is ever to see the Father ... That is found only in Christ.

When we partake of the Holy Eucharist, It is Jesus Himself: Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity.

Kind of like there were spare parts and He just put them together! The birds are funny too! That would be a cool place to visit!

Knowing that it was a sin to the jews to eat blood... onw has to consider just what He meant . Jesus would never tell men to sin .

He and His Apostles ate grain off the stalks on the Sabbath. That was a sin to the Jews, too. The Pharisees called them on it.

I would love to visit there. I also wish I were a youth again. I would love to go to World Youth Day in Krakow.

“Bible Christians”

The birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ is just the
apogee of Christianity. Faith in God came much earlier.
And God himself predates, well, everything. If you have
faith in God and you know that Jesus was the son of god and you
live your life according to his word than I don’t think
it really matters whether your a “Bible Christian” or a
Book Of Mormon Christian.

My only peeve with the Catholic Church is that in recent
times as well as several times in history they have tried
to negotiate the word of God. To me the word of God is not
up for negotiation and don’t tell me you don’t know what
I talking about.

“If God didn’t have a sense of humor he wouldn’t have made people.”

Thanks a lot. I was going to hold myself up as a prime
example but you blew it./S

He was doing alright until he suggested religious activity as a way to combat the flesh.

Engaging in ceremonies or other religious activity is no way to combat the flesh.

The only way to deal with it is for it to die.

** they have tried
to negotiate the word of God. **

How was that done and when?

The Catholic Church has protected Scripture.

protestants would not have Scripture if it weren’t for the Catholic Church preserving it.

Though I am a non-Roman Catholic Christian, I always appreciate Msgr. Pope’s dissection of Scripture and how it applies to our lives as followers of Jesus. Good stuff, sir!

I agree! Msgr. has a nice way of getting the point across, and sometimes has a nice, dry sense of humor in there, too!

God bless you!

I had friends that went to Czestochowa, Poland in 1991, There were so many people trying to get there that they were just not able to get even close to the event. They said the Poles, turned their TV’s toward the streets and turned up the volume so that the kids could see the Holy Father.

Msgr. Pope said:

...by God’s grace, to stop feeding the flesh and start feeding the spirit on prayer, scripture...

Don't you find help in prayer and Scripture? Fasting also helps, Jesus said certain kinds of demons could only be cast out with prayer and fasting.

Imagine, after all those years of oppression! And how nice that the people turned their tv sets around!

I know a priest who grew up with the Nazi, then Communist regimes in Poland. We take our Faith for granted sometimes... They didn't lose theirs. Funny how St. Faustina, St. Maximilian Kolbe and St. John Paul all came out of Poland and their lives were touched by what was around them. EWTN had a wonderful documentary on this awhile back.

God bless you!

There’s a difference between religious activities and spiritual ones.

And if you complete the quote, he listed also *Church teaching and Holy Communion*.

Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Scripture qualifies. Church teaching does not.

The Word of God is living and active and sharper than any double edged sword. Church teaching only teaches you about God. That’s not the same thing as knowing God.
