If you use objective performance measures to compare different groups of immigrants, it is hard to do better than Jews.
High education and skill levels, low levels of public assistance use, high contribution to GDP.
Those that went into promoting leftist politics have historically been equally productive - and a very disproportionally high number of the socialist, communist and union organizers of the early 20th century in America came from the Jewish immigrant community from Eastern Europe (including Russia and the Ukraine), where those ideologies were popular.
These radicals and organizers were always a small proportion of the Jewish community, but were powerful influencers on the political outlook of the rest, and their effect is still seen today. Leftist techniques of manipulation, indoctrination and propaganda were tailored for and focused on this community early and intensely during their integration into America. Ingrained opinion and political affiliation are slow to change within individuals, but are temporary when viewed across longer time frames.
Cultural traits of Jewish people have made them fairly consistent over-performers for many centuries. An exceptionally high cultural value placed on education and intense study, honed in traditional religious training (Yeshivas), motivate and equip students to perform to a higher degree than almost any other (Confucianism perhaps). When the enlightenment brought a lot of Jewish students out from the Yeshivas to study secular subjects, they were disproportionally successful in the arts and sciences (Beethoven, Einstein, etc.).
Traditions of frugality (efficiency), Middle Eastern negotiation tactics, and entrepreneurship contribute to excellence in business as well. Over a long time, you can see a significant economic improvement when Jews flow into an area, and a negative effect when the flow out.
So if you establish objective immigration criteria, to prefer those immigrants who will contribute to the nation the most, and cost the least, as a group Jews will be among the very best - if not the very best.
As everyone has pointed out, this does not calculate the political cost of potentially advancing socialism. That is a (The) real concern. George Soros is a Jewish immigrant, but the Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson are also from this community.
Although statistics can accurately predict outcomes for large enough groups, it cannot predict for individuals. And when it does predict for groups, some variables (like political affiliation) tend to change more over time, while others endure over longer timeframes. The black vote was reliably Republican for generations, before shifting to become the most reliably Democrat. In general, immigrant groups have historically become more conservative in the third generation - 50 or more years in. Politics of a group changes much more quickly than some of the enduring cultural traits that have made Jews superior performers.
