The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary CUF

Issue: What does the Church teach concerning the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary?

Response: The teaching is aptly summarized in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 974:

The Most Blessed Virgin Mary, when the course of her earthly life was completed, was taken up [“assumed”] body and soul into the glory of heaven, where she already shares in the glory of her Son’s Resurrection, anticipating the resurrection of all members of His Body.

If one has no need to practice logic when determining what to ‘believe’; it shows up badly when it IS attempted.

I think you understand only the words that fit your narrative, but you do not seem to fully understand or agree with the teachings of Jesus and His Church.

And now; we double down:

Again your comments may make you feel good and you may firmly believe them, but they are in error if not in agreement with the teachings of Jesus and the Catholic Church.

It is not easy to follow Christ’s path and enter the small gate.

Ebenezer; wake up and hear the chains!

MY yoke is easy; and MY burden is light.

As Jesus said, “He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me” (Luke. 10:16). Catholics assent to the Church’s teachings out of faith
in God, who has invested the Magisterium, the servant of His Word, with His authority: Remember: "it is a free assent to the whole truth that God has revealed” Not selective of which words or teachings of Jesus and His Church that you accept.

A simple YES or NO to you:

Do YOU 'accept' the TEACHING words of YOUR chosen religion; found in #146.

(Remember; it's either YES or NO...)

Unless one buries his head in the sand and refuses to accept that there were many things that were said and done both by Christ and his apostles that were not written.

And what UNWRITTEN things are NECESSARY for salvation?

From your point of view, all the theologians both Catholic, and those former eminent Protestant scholars, theologians, pastors, professors and preachers, who converted to Catholicism are all a set of fools. blindly accepting the sacred traditions and rituals of the Church.

Are YOU reading CB's mind; or merely putting WORDS into his mouth?

One needn't be a FOOL to be deceived by false teachings.

Other wise, YOU have called ALL protestants FOOLS for believing the (as Rome has determined) the FALSE teachings of Protestantism.

If you claim to have read the great essayist Hillaire Belloc’s “The Great Heresies” you would not repeat questions that have been previously raised and interminably refuted.

To the limited Catholic mind; this probably seems true.

They all have one thing in common they do not believe in Petrine authority and propound the heretical denial of the Eucharist.

Thank GOD for that!

One thing in 'common' your BAD POPES THRU HISTORY had:

they DID believe in Petrine authority and clung to the fanciful claims of ROME about the Eucharist.

This kind of Catholic arrogance lessens the need to reply.

Tevye: As the good book says, when a poor man eats a chicken, one of them is sick.

Mendel: Where does the book say that?

Tevye: Well, it doesn’t say that exactly, but somewhere there is something about a chicken. Good Sabbath!

>>This kind of neophyte nonsense is unworthy of a reply.<<

Neophyte? The apostles didn't teach the assumption of Mary or that she was sinless. Yet the Catholic Church demands that their followers believe that. Paul said anyone who teaches something they didn't was to be considered accursed as it was "another gospel".

As you reject the teachings of the Catholic Church, Sacred traditions and the Magisterium that The Holy Spirit inspires and protects the Church from error, you should be aware of the 6 sins against the Holy Spirit:

Presumption
Despair
Resisting the known truth
Envy of another’s spiritual good
Obstinacy in sin
Final impenitence

Adsum, Are you then saying that if I am not a Roman Catholic that I have sinned against the Holy Spirit and thus not saved?

A simple yes or no will be a sufficient answer.

The Holy Spirit doesn’t inspire some proclaimed “magisterium”. The Holy Spirit indwells true believers and it is He who gives us the ability to discern false teachings like those of the Catholic Church. It’s interesting to note that the very word “magisterium” comes from paganism. Magi or a derivative of it is a term, used since well before Christ, to denote followers of Zoroastrianism or Zoroaster. Is it any wonder that the Catholic Church removed the name of Clement of Alexandria who curses the magi for their “impious” rites and rituals from it’s list of Roman Martyrology?

As you reject the teachings of the Catholic Church, Sacred traditions and the Magisterium that The Holy Spirit inspires and protects the Church from error

Again you operate from a false premise

, you should be aware of the 6 sins against the Holy Spirit: Presumption, Despair, Resisting the known truth, Envy of another’s spiritual good, Obstinacy in sin, Final impenitence,

This is interesting.

Q. 917. What is the presumption of God's mercy? A. A foolish confidence of salvation, without leading a good life, or any care to keep the commandments; such as they entertain who think they will be saved by faith only, without good works.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith and not that of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, lest anyone should boast.

However, the Bible noted a sin against the Holy Spirit was when the Pharisees attributed Jesus' ability to cast out demons was due to Him doing so in the name of Beelzebub.

In other words, they were rejecting Christ.

To reject Christ is the only unforgiveable sin. If not, then what is 1 John 1:9 for?

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
