Featured Term selected at random:

RELIQUARY

Any repository in which a relic is sealed and kept. Reliquaries vary in size, according to the relic, from very small ones that can be easily carried to larger caskets for whole parts of a saint's body. Relics are never exposed for public veneration unless enclosed in a reliquary. Some reliquaries are famous for their exquisite design and value.

They also have to have a special seal- the container that is inside the reliquary. And a notation about what it is, or who it is from. At least with first class relics.

We’ve been discussing commonalities of certain aspects of Catholicism and paganism in Buddhism.

This worship of relics (of dubious merit often) is another commonality.

The Buddhists go crazy over a supposed tooth or the Buddha in a similar manner.

Here is an example of a reliquary being set up at an arena in Hong Kong to display bone from the Buddha's skull.

Reliquary statue for the umbilical cord of Christ, 1407

There are definitely some interesting reliquaries.

The Holy Prepuce is another, said to be Christ's foreskin.
