This thread is not anti-Catholic.
Pope Francis didn't elect himself or buy his way into the chair, did he? Sounds like the Roman Catholic church has some deep seated problems that go far deeper than having the current man at the helm. He had a lot of help getting there.
Wrong. We know that "it" is a transexual, not a transvestite. We know after meeting with Francis, "it" will marry a member of "it's" same sex and start a family.
Job well done, Francis. Satan couldn't be prouder.
Who denies that the Catholic Church has serious problems? Who denies that there are wicked, unfaithful Cardinals? Or that they elected Francis?
Cardinal Dolan will be Grand Marshall of the March 17th Gay Pride Parade in New York, in just a couple of months.
>>This is almost as bad as to what the Protestants have become! Well, had they not be led astray by Satan and Luther!<<
What a defense of your infallible Pope! The supposed vicar! In your theology the successor of Peter! And all that.
But to the subject. My assembly would not fellowship with such overt unrepentant sin. Sure as Christians we minister to those that struggle with sin. However unrepentant sin cannot fellowship with the flock. Those were rules set by Christ and the apostles.
Now Jesus did go into the homes of sinners, and that is probably what Francis has in mind. But Jesus did not condone the sin nor tolerate sin. He forgave repentant sinners coming to Him for physical and spiritual healing. Did this transvestite seek such healing? Can’t tell from the profanity laden blog of some Roman Catholic who obviously hates his own Bishop of Rome.
Go figure, RCs picking and choosing what is authoritative. The Pope is wrong only when who says so? You? Apparently, this Pope was elected. Who led such a vote? Mere men (be careful).
The circular reasoning for authority in RC teaching is most interesting. I know, I read the previous comments...the Pope is wrong so stick with RC teachings. Yet those same teachings based on tradition came from previous Popes! Who says they were right? What standard can we measure these popes with? I guess that would be the Holy Scriptures. The Written Words of God. Welcome to the danger zone. The human centric Pope worship has run its course. The elevator setting is set on “H”, which you know what “H” stands for.
Finally...You may want to start charging Luther rent as he is living in the RC noggin rent free for almost 500 years.
How about the near daily threads extolling the Roman Catholic church as the ONE, TRUE church Jesus established and no one can be saved outside of? How about the regular FRoman Catholics who declare everyone who is a Christian but isn't a Catholic is a Protestant and EVERYTHING about Protestants is wrong? How about the many posts bragging about the "unity" of the Roman Catholic church over the supposed disunity of those who hold to sola Scriptura? Then there's the frequent boasting about how there wouldn't BE a Bible without the Roman Catholic church? And my favorite, that there would be no Christianity without the Roman Catholic church?
For a religion that mandates to ALL Christendom that everyone MUST be subject to the Roman Pope in order to be saved, y'all sure do have to explain how that is possible when so many admit serious problems exist - and HAVE existed - and there are/were wicked and unfaithful leaders found within from the lowest to the highest positions. I'd like to hear how men have been named to the very top leadership post having ongoing behavior that the Apostle Paul wouldn't allow even named among the members much less the leadership of a first century church.
There is no contradiction between the Catholic Church’s being the Church founded by Jesus Christ, and guaranteed by him against teaching error, and there being sinful laymen, priests, bishops, Cardinals, and Popes.
I'm open to new understanding of truth -especially God's Truth.
1. WHERE is this guarantee made?
2. WHERE is there any mention of the institution of the "Church" itself teaching?
My understanding is that teaching comes from the indwelling Holy Spirit e.g. Jn 14:26 ) and enabled men and women (e.g. 1 Tim 1:3 & Ti 2:3. ) There are other subtleties to these but I know of no scriptural support for saying that the institution itself teaches.
I welcome your reasoned response. (Is 1:18 & Acts 18:40)
Are you really me?
Are you DrSteveJ?
**guaranteed by him against teaching error, and there being sinful laymen, priests, bishops, Cardinals, and Popes.**
Only one problem: sinful..priests, bishops, Cardinals, and Popes are the ones doing the teaching! They are the ones who come up with catechisms and various doctrine!
The Pope hugging a transsexual, by virtue of his position, is participating in a teaching moment.
Are you DrSteveJ?
He still could be A.M. too, I mean you, uh, me but uh...
it becomes difficult (see that little cult at the end of the "diffi", hiding in plain view? pretty sneaky!) to keep track being as I'm seeming not allowed to talk with all of, uhm, us as it were.
But that's a good thing too, 'cuz you know what they say; it's one thing to have multiple personalities, it's when they all start talking to each other is when you, uh, me, uh --- A.M.(?) is beginning to have a serious problem.
It'sThat (we?) might be Elsie.
Elsie, are you in man? Are you uh, one of us, or what? Hold on a sec, whats on 30

“All it means is that an unworthy, unintelligent individual has been elected Pope. There is nothing in the Catholic Faith that guarantees that this will never happen. Our Lord guaranteed that the Church would never teach error.
Nothing the Pope says or does should shake your faith. The tragic part of it is that, because he is Pope, he has a platform from which to mislead many.
The healthiest thing for the Church is to get the word out to as many people as possible: Dont be misled by him.”
Let us HOPE that Francis does not disprove the principle of Papal Infallibility!!

LOL, you posted that three times. Is it like clicking the rubie slippers three times:)
It’s a “teaching moment,” and it’s SCANDALOUS, but the Church’s actual teaching is found in the Scriptures, in the liturgy, and in magisterial documents.
