Will you be celebrating Easter, as well as celebrating the Assumption of Mary into heaven bodily?

Was Mary needing a minder or something in her old age?

So there is a Catholic thing then along with a Eastern Orthodox thing and Coptic thing, too?

It all comes down to faith, and faith equals faith!

That begs the question: is there a Protestant thing, too?

And if so, then you must not forget the ‘Protestant thing’ of those (like Martin Luther) who believed that Esther, Jude, James, Hebrews, and Revelation to be uninspired scripture.

Buddha’s disciples who were with the Buddha wrote down that he performed miracles and was translated beyond all that can be called God.

Do I believe this? No, but they then said it happened and archaeology has shown where the Buddha was said to have performed miracles, where he was born, lived and died and was enlightened under the Bodhi tree. And historical accounts says they were persecuted for their faith like Jesus’ followers were. Do I trust in the Buddha? No...

But Buddhists have their faith, too...

This is easily a two day-er.
May I suggest anyone wishing to state anything about the Catholic Church either consult the Catechism, or a good Priest, or state that he has not done so and is therefore speaking as a liberal, or someone who has no idea what he’s talking about?

It all comes down to faith. There is no proof that Jesus or Mary rose from the dead, and all the arguments against either are meaningless because the burden of proof rests with those who believe anything to prove it.

I'm not sure one even needs faith to know that Christ rose from the dead. Evidentiary proof is as great if not greater than that required to convict someone of a crime in court. The implications of His Resurrection require more faith than the Resurrection itself.

If you would like to pick up a book on the historical evidence for the Resurrection, look at N.T. Wright's "Resurrection of the Son of God". It's a bit of work but well worth the effort. There was a discussion on it some ten years ago or so on FR.

Still isn’t proof as other religions leaders of antiquity had their witnesses, too.

Makes no difference, it’s not biblical, nor to be celebrated as if it is.

Pope John Paul II credited the Virgin Mary for protecting him during the assassination attempt in 1981.

a liberal, or someone who has no idea what he’s talking about

What do you mean "or"? Didn't you mean "is"?

Wh is celebrating it as if it is Biblical?

the Catholic Church just doesn’t conform to Sola Scriptura, regardless of how much she is hated for it.

“This is easily a two day-er.”

Getting a root canal would be much more enjoyable than participating in one of these endless threads that feature the same people making the same attacks on each other!!

You do know that the Catholic Church does not teach the Bible alone

Yeah, they also teach stuff they made up along the way, then call it tradition.

The strength or weakness of witness testimony depends on the character and reputation of the witness.

My experience with these witnesses is that they can be trusted.

Speaking of assumptions.

Praying for the intercession of St Burro, the holy donkey touched by Jesus as he rode it. May he bray all over thee.

Patron saint of asses.

Hey, Jesus rode the donkey - it is more biblical than the assuming of Mary.
