Verga’s argue ent is with the history of the rcc on this issue. The rcc was more worried about the money than anything else. Forget the business of being more devoted to the church. It was all about the money. Same reason they won’t give up Mary.......too much money involved.

There were married priests and even popes before 1000 CE. Do some research. One site said married men could become priests. I do not understand that. If a married man could become a priest, then why not other men? it seems like a different set of rules.
