“We must pray that God will forgive us and send us again an authentic pope, such as Pope Pius X, and then revere that pope and look to hear Christ through him as we did popes in the past.”

Or just scratch all that and call on the name of the Lord YOURSELVES, by faith. Like Israel of old, do we want a king to rule over us? God was not pleased. He provided his SON so we could have a relationship with HIM. Yes, we ought ask forgiveness for EVER wanting a mediator between ourselves and God other than Jesus, There is no other, and anyone pretending to be one will pay the penalty!

There is not one Apostle who exalted themselves over the world. Even Peter agreed to go to the Jews and Paul to the Gentiles (probably most on this forum). Even there the supposed first pope shames the rest through humility.

“It will require that we deserve such a pope, so we must REPENT AND BELIEVE the Good News and sin no more.”

That puts one the province of luck, not faith. Deserve? HELL is what we DESERVE. No, no no. We want a free gift.

“Sin no more”? No one has pulled that one off, including the woman caught in adultery. If we could Jesus died in VAIN. Read the letters of Paul, they’re awesome gifts from God where the damnable works religion that poisons the free gift of God in Christ is given its fitting epitaph!

Where were all your ideas prior to Martin Luther?

You need to study history and ancient Catholic writings from the 100’s, 300’s, 500’s, 1100’s, 1300’s, for example. Study lives of holy saints and see if any of them held your position of slandering, misrepresenting, and disparaging Catholic thought.

(All Christians were Catholic prior to Marty.)

Stop your empty baseless accusations until you have studied history and read carefully and thoroughly the Holy Scriptures. Then come back and comment. Your views will be far different and better informed.
