When is the Swiss Guard Going to Disarm?
The American Catholic ^ | 6/22/15 | Donald R. McClarey

Posted on 06/22/2015 4:06:05 AM PDT by markomalley

I assume the Pope will now be having the Swiss Guard disarmed, and foreswearing any and all protection by the Italian police and military:

People who manufacture weapons or invest in weapons industries are hypocrites if they call themselves Christian, Pope Francis said on Sunday.

Francis issued his toughest condemnation to date of the weapons industry at a rally of thousands of young people at the end of the first day of his trip to the Italian city of Turin.

“If you trust only men you have lost,” he told the young people in a long, rambling talk about war, trust and politics after putting aside his prepared address.

“It makes me think of … people, managers, businessmen who call themselves Christian and they manufacture weapons. That leads to a bit a distrust, doesn’t it?” he said to applause.

He also criticized those who invest in weapons industries, saying “duplicity is the currency of today … they say one thing and do another.”

Go here to read the rest. I assume this is in line with the Pope’s ridiculous belief that arms manufacturers start wars, rather than the nations involved in the wars, like Argentina did when it took the Falklands in 1982, the Pope having praised the Argentine war dead in that conflict as having fought for Argentina.

The prepared texts by this Pontiff are no day at the beach as to either logic or sometimes even sanity, but where we really go into Cloud Kookooland is when he goes off text and we get the full brunt of the often bizarre thoughts rattling around his skull. Message to the future conclave: please do not pick a loon as pontiff this time.

He doesn’t live in the real world. I wonder how many armed guards he has when he’s out and about…………...

And Jesus said “sell tour cloak and buy a sword”.

He won’t.

His much anticipated visit to Philly in late Sept consists endless rounds of papal security planning.

I assume there’ll be a huge surge of hiring ‘weaponless’ martial art security guards.

Is the pope Catholic? Apparently not as almost everything he promotes is anti-biblical

He is however totally socialist.

Look at all the celebrities and liberal politicians who condemn gun ownership, yet employ security guards. It’s a elitist thing. They’re important, don’t you know.

The pope’s comments, unfortunately, place him in the same strata as the celebrity hypocrites as the Vatican employs armed guards and they have to get their weapons from somewhere. He’s supposed to be a “servant”, a “common man” - no better or worse than us.

There’s no issue with him condemning a culture of violence and death even as regards guns, but he’s playing God when he makes a judgement about gun manufacturers’ salvation.

They’re not true Christians imho

I beg to differ. None of us mere humans is in a position to judge someone's salvation.

So based on his logic, Jesus was a bad guy eh?

Luke 22:36
Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Its becoming more and more apparent that the Catholic Church is the Great Harlot all the time. I guess he needs to be reminded of this verse too:

Timithy 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

I know all those billions paid into Catholic Charities must have affected his brain and turned him into an Obama administration sockpuppet used to steer the Catholic masses to collective minded groupthinkers that side with the fedgov no matter what even if they are completely wrong.

Isn’t this the Pope that said: “What am I to judge?”

Isn’t the guy in Rome the perfect dichotomy of ‘weapons control’?
He has always had a ‘foreign private guard’, e.g. ‘The Swiss Guard’?
He has always had armed guards, if you look back at the assasination attempts, and the bodyguards responses.
He, in times past, was the actual out front on the horse leader of armies, clothed in armor, and armed with a rather nice looking sword.

So, for me to hear or read him talk about how bad guns/weapons are, my response: “G.F’d!”

Luke 11:13 also says, “When a strong man well armed protects his home, his possessions are safe.” The Pope must have missed that one.

I fear his mind has been poisoned by his friendships. Rather than change them, it’s changed him.

“why are do people become Catholics?”

Because people know it is true.

“They’re not true Christians imho”

Thankfully Christ thinks very differently than you.

Yes, when he visits New York City there is a big police presence around to protect him. Maybe he should take a walk, in all his regalia and without armed guards, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, around midnight maybe. Just to demonstrate “trust.” See how he makes out.

Oddly enough, early on the Pope tried to “soften” the Swiss Guard by firing their leader. Apparently the Pope’s expertise includes military order, discipline, and how to provide security services, along with climate science, economics, history, philosophy, Islam, etc.
