I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish. That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are at Rome. I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
(Rom 1:14-17)

Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened." 15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17 It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
(1 Peter 3:13-17)

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
(Joshua 24:15)

Will Rogers was quoted as saying that there are no strangers, just friends whom we have yet to meet. That would be a great standard for those of us who post anonymously here.

In the depths of my near fatal kidney failure last fall and winter, I was the beneficiary of the prayers of my fellow Catholic FReepers but also the prayers of many Reformed Christian FReepers. To my shame, I had previously engaged in some very uncharitable posting here against some of them. They behaved toward me with the love that our Savior urged upon us all.

I have tried, even before my illness, to urge folks here of all persuasions to remember that this is a political website for conservatives and that we should strive to unite in causes which we have in common.

In any event, Jim, yours the living room and yours the rules. God bless you and yours!

God bless you Jim. FE and family are all converts to Catholicism.

Why we did it: the church supports Life, Freedom, and Marriage.

Same reason I support FR as 300 club member.

Great big thank you from this Catholic mama! I have been reluctant to let my older kids come to FR to read some world news because I’m not ready for them to see all the Catholic bashing that goes on around here. I truly appreciate you making the effort to tone things down a bit. I’m all for healthy discussions about religion but some threads were just downright ugly. You can count on our continued monthly donation! Thanks again!!
