“I do not understand, these things hard to understand,” Pope Francis.

There’s no way someone is this ignorant.

But then again, his primary concern appears to be about Al Gore’s global warming hoax rather than saving souls.

Sorry NYer, On this we Disagree. However to answer your question he could have pointed out Islamist Killing in the Name of their Religion ALL THOSE who DO not Comply with Their Specific Will Murdered Innocent Lives. Those who support or cheer on such Actions are part of the problem too.

islam Cannot Coexist with Freedom Period! islam is Not a Religion but a Cult of DEATH and Chaos, hence it is the product of the Evil One.

Ann Nails it hear and for Years she has been On Spot. To Many Deny the Truth!

God Bless, As for Me and My Family We will Follow Our Lord Jesus and not the Lies and Deceit of the Devil (which islam is a product of).

Shia and Sunni Muslims – do you know the difference?

How many Sunni mosques were attacked in Francis this weekend, NYer?

I think that FP means that is is an odd way of phrasing it. When someone states in English that he is close to someone, it usually means that he knows that person, has some sort of personal relationship with him. Am I right, FP?

I'm always AMAZED at how the world responds to what Pope Francis says and does. Since most of the people on this planet are not Catholics, WHY would they care?

Why do so many Protestants give a rat's about him, his office, what he says and what he does? What's it to them? Is it part of their Protestantism to TEAR DOWN the original Church that Jesus built? It it part of the Protestantism to tear down ANYone/ANYhing? Where is their moral call from? I don't think so. Jesus said to love God and love each other. Pretty simple, not easy, but simple.

CATHOLIC simply means universal, nothing else. Jesus told the Apostles to go out and teach all nations, so that is their mission, universal evangelizing. Protestants aren't even protesting anymore...unless they are disgruntled anti-Catholics and anti-Evangelicals on this site.
But then I don't normally go to Protestant threads, so maybe they do there. Why would they care?

Oh well.

Prayers for the victims of the senseless attacks in Paris

I heard a reporter on the radio today talk of the "senseless" killing and I became angry.
They are NOT "senseless".They were done for a reason.
That they are called senseless is a terrible admission of our ignorance of the enemy we face.
If we can not recognize the nature of our enemy, if we can not remember the battles of centuries passed,
if we can not understand the "sense" they see in their acts, how can we defeat them?

Correct, Bigg. I just wondered if it has a different meaning to Catholics, or perhaps was something lost in the translation.

This lifelong Catholic knows of no such usage. It is, I suspect, what you said, i.e., a problem of translation.
