Oh, how I pray this works for him and that he is restored to a place where he can find peace and comfort, and care for himself and his family.

I’m so happy that he recognized the problem. That is half the battle. God bless him and his family. I’ve been there myself (my dad) and it was rough growing up with an alcoholic. I pray for healing for all involved.

Hopefully he realizes the hospital is only good to control the detox period (about 4 days will leave the sousiest souse alcohol free) and he needs to dig deep for a concerted long-term effort - preferably AA. Also understand that AA is the most effective venue and it only averages about 10% - been without booze for over 27 years and have watched a lot come and go - many more on the "go" end of the deal.

Prayers up.

My cousin had alcohol problem for years, took meds, counseling, etc. Went to doctor who wrote, or co-wrote? book about HIGH doses of Niacin to combat cravings....it worked! I dont remember the name of the book, think it is on amazon, anyway, i would not have believed it but he never drinks now. There is some vitamin b brain issue with cravings, it is scientific, not “hippy cure”. And not dangerous. Niacin flush was his worst symptom. Hope this info helps!

(Our Prayers to God increase for your brother and his family.)

(Keep the Faith, my friends! We are the saviors of the Republic! Now and Forever!)

I myself am a recovering alcoholic with 12 years of sobriety. My prayers are with your brother that he learns to turn over his life and his will to the care of God.

Lord Jesus, our Teacher and Savior, send an angel to Thy servant to guard him against alcohol abuse, and lead him to Thee.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.

May our Heavenly Father grant your brother the graces that your brother will surely need to overcome his addiction and to be the husband and father that God means him to be. We ask this in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
