Do you suppose that Judas made it to Heaven???

No he didn't TC, but the more important question is, will you? Unlike you, I am authorized to commit the sin of presumption. If you won't do it, that's on you bro. Sigh. So sad. 🙉🙈🙊

Was the thief on the cross beside Jesus a Christian? You know, the one Jesus told would be with him in paradise and who WASN’T baptized. Was he saved?

Where exactly does Scripture “back up” the idea of papal infallibility?

Catholicism disagrees with itself.

Muslims get loved more than Prots!

I could live with that.

That's what MrsElsie said; too!

I've not mentioned it before; but she is Catholic.

Even though she attends a Wesleyan church and is a member there; many folks say...

"She must be a Saint to live with that man!"

Ergo...

If a Christian, Baptism is necessary...

Says Rome and it's minions.

Romes's book indicates otherwise.

Mark 16:16
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever believeth not will be condemned.

It DOESN'T say:

BAPTISETH not...

Says Rome.

The Early Church Fathers DISAGREE with you:

Acts 15:22-29 22 Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, men who were leaders among the believers. 23 With them they sent the following letter:

The apostles and elders, your brothers,

To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia:

   Greetings.

24 We have heard that some went out from us without our authorization and disturbed you, troubling your minds by what they said. 25 So we all agreed to choose some men and send them to you with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul— 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word of mouth what we are writing. 28 It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: 29 You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.

   Farewell.

Acts 15:1

Certain people came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the believers: "Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved."

Certain people come on FR most every day, insisting that: "Unless you are BAPTISED, according to the custom taught by ROME, you cannot be saved."

Your second comment is meaningless, Mary isn't the center of Catholicism, Christ is, and has always been.

Fine then.

Prove it.

Take Mary out of Catholicism completely except for acknowledging the virgin birth.

Oh yeah, I forgot sola scriptura......sigh

Sorry, TC, but an awful lot of what ROME puts out does NOT agree with what has been written in her book.

Acts 15:27
Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word of mouth what we are writing.

Do you suppose that Judas made it to Heaven???

Well; according to ROME's book...

None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction; so that Scripture would be fulfilled.

It does NOT say:

None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction; so that TRADITION would be fulfilled.

How did you come to that conclusion based on my statement???

Is this a YES or a NO?

DO you think that Mariology doctrine is essential?

Let's see what we are talking about...

Going back to the source...

There are only 2.......I said 2.....not 6,4, 98, 33, .....2 dogmas that Catholics accept as part of Catholicism....Mary was Immaculately conceived..(ie. without original sin) and that she was assumed into Heaven.

All the other teachings, apparitions, comments, opinions etc. are just that...believe it or not, no obligation either way...

So; do you think people who do NOT believe these TWO doctrines will be saved?

The church began 50 days after Jesus’ resurrection (c. A.D. 30). Jesus had promised that He would build His church (Matthew 16:18), and with the coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4), the church—ekklesia (the “called-out assembly”)—officially began. Three thousand people responded to Peter’s sermon that day and chose to follow Christ.
...
In A.D. 312, the Roman Emperor Constantine claimed to have had a conversion experience. About 70 years later, during the reign of Theodosius, Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire. Bishops were given places of honor in the government, and by A.D. 400, the terms “Roman” and “Christian” were virtually synonymous.
...
After Constantine, then, Christians were no longer persecuted. In time, it was the pagans who came under persecution unless they “converted” to Christianity. Such forced conversions led to many people entering the church without a true change of heart. The pagans brought with them their idols and the practices they were accustomed to, and the church changed; icons, elaborate architecture, pilgrimages, and the veneration of saints were added to the simplicity of early church worship.

You argue over the details. You are missing the key point: Love thy neighbor as yourself. Wasn’t that the most important commandment?

I WILL 'argue over details' when false teaching is concerned.

I am NOT going to 'love my neighbor' when he continually spray paints my house with profanity!

This is great another 500 posts fighting over what has been fought over for 500 years.

Which side should give up?

The text says he is.

Not really.

It merely states that he was there. No mention of his salvation at all.

Can we assume it?

Obviously we have; but not from the text.

Matthew 17:1-8

After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.

Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.” When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.
