Interesting.
Unfortunately, they think that opposition to transgendered bathrooms or religious freedom bills that seek to protect religious establishments from servicing same-sex weddings is “anti-LGBT.” In other words, any point of view other than their own is unacceptable.
I would blame self loathing. The guy grew up in a religion he believed in that taught him that men with his feelings (for other men) should be killed out of compassion.
