America's Rejection of Almighty God and Our Founding Fathers
IFB ^ | 7/1/16

Posted on 06/30/2016 6:19:25 PM PDT by The Ignorant Fisherman

If this 4th of July George Washington, John Adams, Benjamin Rush and the rest of our Founding Fathers were to come back from the grave and testified against America for her national departure from our founding, the majority of American’s would NOT hear them and would fully reject them. I truly believe Americans would be fully enraged by their words of condemnation and rebuke and seek to destroy and slander them 24/7 on all the media news outlets and then have them stoned. We as a nation are too far gone morally to restore this nation and the majority of Americans do not have an ear to hear the moral and social conservatism which our founders stood for and believed. This is the sobering reality of our hour and one must ask himself, “Am I strong enough to look into the eyes of this horrific beast of reality and by faith put ALL my trust in Almighty God and in His Word, promises and ETERNAL saving solution (Mark 11:22, Heb. 11:6)."

Many TRUE conservatives are scared and truly frightened to death about what lies ahead for our once great nation. They are trapped in a subjective world view without any ETERNAL or Heavenly objective perspective, which is based on Almighty God and His infallible Word. My dear friend, fear not about what is at hand for our doomed nation and the current over whelming crises of this temporal fallen world, for all these things MUST come to pass as the Lord Jesus said (Matt. 24).

Put NOT your trust in any man or woman in these days, even in the conservative talk radio voices of the right for they are oblivious to the ETERNAL realities and only present a subjective world view for their listeners (Psalm 118:8, 146:3-5, Jer. 17:5, 1 John 2:17). May we always be doing our part for our nation, but never trusting in it in such days. May our focus and strength come ONLY from Almighty God and from His precious promises which are for us in His Holy Word (Rom. 8:28-39, 2 Cor. 1:20). From Heaven's ETERNAL perspective the future is always bright.

The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand my beloved! May your trust be in the Lord of hosts and this reality be seen ever clearer as we head forth to that very hour?

the majority of American’s would NOT hear them and would fully reject them.

The majority of Americans wouldn't understand what they were saying. They were far more intelligent than most modern day Americans.

We as a nation are too far gone morally to restore this nation...

Agreed! But then no man has ever been able to "restore" a nation. If God does not build the walls, then those who build labor in vain. I take heart from the fact that God granted Israel repentance when she was further down the road of rejecting God than America is, and I pray regularly that God will do the same for us.

Remember that the Constitutional Convention was getting nowhere until Ben Franklin suggested that they all go to Church and ask the LORD to help them as He had done during the Revolution. After that, they started each day with prayer. The result, as they say, is history.

2 Chronicles 7:19 "But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you and shall go and serve other gods and worship them,
2 Chronicles 7:20 then I will uproot you from My land which I have given you, and this house which I have consecrated for My name I will cast out of My sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.
2CH 7:21 "As for this house, which was exalted, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and say, 'Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?'
2CH 7:22 "And they will say, 'Because they forsook the Lord, the God of their fathers, who brought them from the land of Egypt, and they adopted other gods (Hinduism, Buddhims, islam, etc.) and worshiped them and served them, therefore He has brought all this adversity on them.'"

Obviously making distinctions is a bridge too far for many.
Establishing laws and rules that govern and guide the citizens of any nation, is a this worldly pursuit while behaving well in this life in order to ascend to an afterlife, is an other worldly pursuit.
And conflating the two muddles both.
Burke, a Father of Principled Conservatism, correctly asserted that conservatism, a set of attitudes and behaviors derivative of the Natural Law is both non-ideological and non-religious in impulse and thrust.
The Greeks and Romans of Antiquity who founded Western Civilization well understood this and they pre-dated Christ and the Gospels by some 7 centuries!

Well, we couldn’t keep it. The 16th and 17th Amendments pretty much started the slide.

Recorded by James Madison:

In this situation of this Assembly, groping as it were in the dark to find political truth, and scarce able to distinguish it when presented to us, how has it happened, Sir, that we have not hitherto once thought of humbly applying to the Father of lights to illuminate our understandings? In the beginning of the Contest with G. Britain, when we were sensible of danger we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection. ”Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a Superintending providence in our favor. To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth- that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that “except the Lord build the House they labour in vain that build it.” I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our little partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and bye word down to future ages. And what is worse, mankind may hereafter from this unfortunate instance, despair of establishing Governments be Human Wisdom and leave it to chance, war and conquest.

I therefore beg leave to move, that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessings on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business, and that one or more of the Clergy of the City be requested to officiate in that service.

- Benjamin Franklin

Nice try at demoralizing me. You failed.

Some of my ancestors fired on the British during the revolution. I will never dishonor my father’s by succmbing to such defeatist talk.

Any proper community must first exalt the individual as the Christian God does. It must then preserve inherent individual natural rights as a condition precedent for any authority held by a governing body. The Mayflower Compact with John Winthrop first set this high standard to be followed by Thomas Hooker in Connecticut, Roger Williams at Providence, Nathanial Ward in Massachusetts Bay, and William Penn in Pennsylvania.

For our government human rights got synthesized into property as defined most prominently by John Locke and James Madison. Individual property is first of all sourced internally in self protection, opinion, religion, communications, use of abilities to labor physically and mentally, and in conscience.

Therefore annually I get to send the below letter to papers and commentators, but have never seen it published. At least I get the satisfaction of knowing I have committed a micro-aggression against the many I have made feel uncomfortable and they do not quite know why.

Subject: July 4 and the American Dream

On July 4 we recognize the Declaration of Independence which defines the American Dream as inalienable natural rights including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The Constitution establishes a government to secure those rights by promoting the general welfare, and the blessings of liberty.

Whatever the Constitution further defines relies upon natural human rights independent of and superior to any government construction. They are intangible property sourced in personal opinion, religion, communications, use of abilities to labor physically and mentally, and in conscience. Only by application of these inherent rights can one truly possess material things.

The American Dream never meant government largess ensuring college funds, retirement accounts, savings, executive severance packages, affordable health care, home ownership, lifetime employment, corporate wealth, political careers, and union benefits. Politicians become patricians offer enchanting elements of material security such as described, while obscuring subservience to rules vastly increasing their power. Their legislation and laws negate our Bill of Rights confiscating freedoms for these apparitions.

Accomplishing this fraud requires passing administrative laws and regulations that are the soft underbelly of our Constitution. Under English common law, basic to our Constitution, a person is innocent and not subject to the penalties of the law until proved guilty. Administrative laws and regulations are like Roman civil law where a person is subject to its penalties and restrictions until they find legal means to extricate themselves. Now citizens unconsciously, routinely make Faustian bargains willingly exchanging the essence of their humanity for illusions of material comfort.

< Amen Brother, I cannot disagree with one word of the above opinion.

Same here. Seems the easier life has become for Americans the easier they forget that there is a reason that America became the strongest and wealthiest nation in the world when it adhered to Christian values and worshipped God with their actions and not just with their mouths. I don't think any of the younger generation know what type of tyranny that the English lived under or the events that led the our founding fathers to write The Constitution at all. Imagine being told you have to attend church they tell you to or pay a fine or forcing you to put up soldiers for the night who are thee to search your belongings to find something to "prove" you are a traitor so they can hang you for treason or forcing you turn over your belongings to surrender them to the crown. Or not paying a debt because you didn't have the money then being confined to a cage that you can't even stand up in? The problem is that our youth have not had to endure hardships to mature them ergo they are letting the government tell them what and how to think to think by manipulating their emotions like a psychological thriller and they're not even aware of it at all. So many are no longer learning or appreciating the value of wisdom therefore they don't know what is good or evil or what is truth or lies. My guess is that Americans will not learn their lessons until they go through enough hell on earth that will make them question what father government tells them.

Kids are not even subjected to the “pain” of working a job. Most don’t even attempt it until they are 16-18. I had two jobs before I was 10 years old, then household chore. One was a paper route, weekends at 3 am, the other was putting bottle returns back in the wood crates for which I got $.10 a case. Actually, 3 jobs, because we used to ride the bus to the strawberry fields, and when in season the beans. It was a blast, but kids today are not even allowed.

Same setup here. I always had chores and jobs to do. I was mowing lawns and doing whatever else I could do to earn money like sweepimg driveways, rakng leaves, weeding lowerbeds when I was around 11 or so. We didn't get allowances. If I wanted to buy something I had to earn it myself. Occasionally my mom or dad would buy me something that I wanted but it was usually only if I had worked on special projects around the house like helping paint the house or redoing a flowerbed.
