Huh? Any well-informed Catholic knows that Bergoglio is the worst Pope in at least 500 years, and possibly of all time. He hates Catholics, and pro-lifers. He promotes pro-abortion, pro-sodomy men like Cupich and McElroy. Bing for emma bonino pope francis
there are grounds for annulment...if your spouse commits adultery or is an abuser than the marriage didn’t really take place due to the spouses non committal to it, and married under false circumstances...
First principle: Any discussion of the words of Jesus as reported in the Scripture must begin with the Greek, supplemented with a thorough knowledge of Hebrew and Aramaic.
Only the rankest of amateurs would dream of basing such a discussion on any translation.
The idea that Jesus taught that spouse A may divorce spouse B if spouse B has committed adultery is a gross distortion, based in part on poor translations of the gospels.
That is an argument that could possibly be made.
But that would be to say the marriage never really took place; not that it is ended.
The Pope is approximately as offended by abortion as Nancy Pelosi.
He can’t say so.
But pro-life prelates are exiled from Rome, and EVERY MEMBER of the Pontifical Academy for Life is gone. Bergoglio has gutted the John Paul II Institute.
Pro-abortion, pro-sodomy prelates go from one promotion to the next.
How does he promote pro-abortion?
Personally I deleted Lifesite news.
The Holy Spirit is still guiding the Church. The faithful remnant will soldier on, despite persecution, Popes, and perfidy.
The goal is Heaven.
I gave examples. He promotes overtly pro-abortion, pro-sodomy bishops.
My understanding is that unfaithfulness is not considered enough to erase the marriage vows.
Keep in mind, any Catholic can separate from a spouse, for good reason, and continue to receive Communion; but that precludes any relationship with another person. One must remain single and chaste. In that sense, you remain married to the original spouse; you just don’t live together anymore.
In divorce, you are formally and actively trying to renounce the marriage vow God instituted with you, so you can no longer receive Communion.
A marriage can be annulled after serious investigation reveals that one of the partners was so flawed or dishonest that God would not have been party to their vows. Since God didn’t participate, it wasn’t really a sacramental marriage, and you are free of your promises.
I’m probably not saying this elegantly, and this is just my understanding.
Well welcome to the party Art! For a RCC priest to admit this is huge.

Matt 19:9 Westcott and Hort 1881
From Strongs:
πορνείᾳ (porneia): fornication, whoredom,
From Helps Word Studies:
4202 porneía (the root of the English terms "pornography, pornographic"; cf. 4205 /pórnos) which is derived from pernaō, "to sell off") properly, a selling off (surrendering) of sexual purity; promiscuity of any (every) type.
Yet that is what the translation means.
Yes..that is the RCC position. However, the NT allows for divorce for unfaithfulness as noted in Matthew 19:9 and Matthew 5:32.
How can you say they are pro-abort or Sodomy Bishops. That’s just your opinion Father.
So what does it say?
Everything I say is my opinion.
Pointing out that self-evident fact adds nothing to the conversation, except to prove that you are a troll with nothing of substance to contribute.
Nice Father to call me Troll. And what is my objective. What do I have to win.I am asking you simple questions.I have no idea who the Holy Father appointed as do most of the reader’s of this thread.Educate us.You said the Pope is pro-death-back it up.
Let’s ask Arthur to translate it for us. He says you gotta know the Greek.
Wow! The renowned Catholic charity on display again!
Eaglgeone what do you mean.I asked Father to clarify his remarks that the Pope was Pro-Death.That’s all.
He called you a troll. Pretty demeaning term. My comment was directed to,Arthur....not you. Apologies for the confusion.
