How Will The Media and Governments of the world explain The Rapture?
Billy Graham Evangelistic Association et al. ^ | June 19, 2017 | RightTackle 44

Posted on 06/19/2017 10:24:21 PM PDT by righttackle44

If and when the Rapture of the Church occurs and Christians are spirited off the face of the earth to Heaven, how will the secular governments and media explain the phenomenon? Millions of people will suddenly be gone from the societies and populations of the earth. Many who thought or said that they were Christians, will still be here.

No born-again Christians will be here.

The Billy Graham article is cited to provide information.

Ezekiel is denouncing the false prophets in Babylon who are preaching a “God would never destroy Jerusalem” message — and that Jerusalem would not fall in the upcoming third incursion by Nebuchadnezzar. This passage has not a thing to do with the Rapture and seldom/never does anyone us Ezekiel (or Deuteronomy, Leviticus, Song of Solomon) to argue for or against the Blessed Hope.

The critical passages over the Rapture involve Daniel’s 70 Week Prophecy in Daniel 9, the promise of the LJC in John 14, and Paul’s comments in I Thessalonians 4.

Just be ready everyone. . .no one knows the day or the hour but Jesus did give us a list of signs many of which have been fulfilled. It’s either heaven or hell for everyone. It is our choice based on what we do with Jesus. . .believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved OR . . . .

Paul wrote ICorinthians 10:11 what happened before was recorded as a warning as to what would be again.. Wonder, who will play the roll of the king of Babylon?

Christ said for the elect’s sake time would be shortened. When the 6th trump sounds it will not take 7 years for this flesh age to be completed.

Just finished Isaiah, now reading through Jeremiah and they also do not support the rapture ideas.
I wouldn't waste one second trying to disuade those who believe that the Bible says there will be a rapture because experience has shown they are impervious to evidence.

This is interesting speculation but I won’t join in because I am one who does not believe in that interpretation of what has to be one of the more challenging passages in Scripture. I interpret it more along the lines of a worldwide recognition by the faithful of the return of the Lord, but not a removal of them prior to judgement. This implies that the faithful will escape the tribulation and that, frankly, has not been my experience in life, nor is it a very realistic expectation given what our Lord went through. We are not going to get that free ride out of trouble, but instead, as many other passages in the New Testament suggest, we need to be ready to face many hardships and difficulties.

The Rapture is basically an extension of the gospel of wealth philosophy that was fairly prominent in evangelical circles back around the 1980s. I wouldn’t count on being that lucky. Christian faith is not winning a lottery.

I don’t follow or agree with Hagee on many htigns however, he did a very interesting video/film of the rapture with A&E i believe it was, which depicted how the media might handle the rapture- it was a quite interesting film, and not too far off from the bible- kinda cool to see it portrayed/interpreted in the form of film- shows how the media colludes to cover it up- the film did a good job depicting the sound of the trumpets too- quite eerie sounding

Explain it? They’ll ignore it until it cannot be ignored, then deny it.

[[The apathy of Baptists]]

All the baptists i know and grew up with are eagerly awaiting His return- We look forward to eternity with God- We don’t hold out that this life is more important than eternity with God0- not sure where you are getting your info from- but i can assure you we are not apathetic about the rapture

Greek is Harpazo
Latin translation of the Greek word is Rapturo

Meaning: snatch away

Taken out of context.

The believers will be snatched away on Judgement day. But not before the tribulation.

Christians get to go through it, otherwise there are no Christians to persecute.

You can have whatever OPINION you want, but can’t Biblically deny the rapture.

1 Thessalonians 4: 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

Stated pretty matter of factly.
The only thing open for discussion is the timing.

Wasn't taken out of context at all.

You stated They won’t, because there is no “rapture.”

I simply stated the Greek and Latin words, proving a rapture mentioned in the Bible. If not, Harpazo would not have been used.

I wonder if the rapture will take place during a time of world conflict or a significant natural disaster. If a comet hits, the world would be in such disarray, millions of people disappearing would not be as noticeable. When the antichrist comes in to power, the first thing he does is “blaspheme those who are in Heaven,” so he will trash-talk those who have left. He will probably tell the world he has personally gotten rid of the Christians, by beaming them off planet or some such, gotten rid of the troublemakers so that the people who are left can go on to the next stage of evolution, into a glorious future. The tranny, screenwriter liberal types will eat that up. “I’m one of the chosen ones! I knew it !” I can see Stephen Colbert and Whoopee Goldberg saying that.

Looks like we two Baptists disagree, based on our personal experiences. Mine come from two things. My experiences with other Christian teachers in Kyiv, church attendance in Southern California, and what I can gather off the Internet.

A real eye-opener has been this widespread lack of interest in the Revelation 12 sign and the convergence of so much else. End-timers want to bring up “No man knoweth the day nor the hour . . .” or “88 Reasons the Lord will return in 1988” as reasons for dismissively waving off such things.

(Catholics, Presbys, Lutherans & Reformed opted out & bought into Replacement theology a long time ago).

>> When the 6th trump sounds it will not take 7 years for this flesh age to be completed. <<

This is a bit to unravel. There is a week of years to go to finish Daniel’s prophecy.
It is unlikely that those 7 years will all occur after the 6th Trumpet or at the ascension of John in Rev. It probably will not take a week of years for the two witnesses to revive in Jerusalem.

So what is your point?

So what are you saying?

>>Personally, I think (don’t know) that the rapture will occur seconds before some worldwide catastrophic event such as a nuclear exchange <<

“Brilliant minds think alike.” I’ve thought this for years. It adds a bit more import into the event occurring as rapidly as the “twinkling of an eye.” — But that is just speculation without any real foundation.

It is OK for Christians to discuss/debate interpretations and doctrines.

It would not be OK for one side to suggest a Christian MUST believe or not believe in a rapture theory of any sort in order to be saved. Nor in order to be raptured away - if such a thing ever turns out to be part of His plan.

A belief either way on the rapture stuff is NOT what saves a Christian soul.

Would you mind explaining how the replacement theolgy of those denominations links to their (apathetic?) view toward end-times?

Also, which denominations are NOT replacement theology?

My apologies, and thanks
