Who is Betsy Weintraub? If she aint a church member then she ought to shut up
I know nothing of this pastor. What I do believe is that I can change from my past
I notice that also.
Folks, mainly women, just want to leave their kids with me, and I see it ultimately as laziness.
Their kids interfere with their "me time", so they put their kids at risk of abuse for the sake of their convenience.
I am now a father of 3 girls, and realize now that all males are a threat.
I trust no one, and I do an informal psychological profile of people (previously called "sizing him up") to assess the odds that they will molest my kid.
For instance, I have a brother in law who is angry, disgruntled, and not well-adjusted. He is a high risk and won't be hosting any sleepovers with my daughters. Also, my father in law has dementia and is losing his inhibitions.
Family gets mad at me, but my responsibility is to my daughters first and foremost. If I do not protect them, no one else will (my wife is one of those aforementioned people who say "Here, take my kid").
You are so right—stay the course.
The future will show the wisdom of it.
“Once violating the requirements for ministers of the gospel, that person is forever disqualified from holding such a position ever again.”
Scripture for the “forever disqualified” assertion, please.
Many years ago as I was being criticized for being over protective of my children, another woman in our church set me straight.
She had been molested as a child by her cousin.
She told me in no uncertain terms to ignore all those people and do what I feel is best for them. She said when it comes to sexual abuse, there is no such thing as over protecting them.
What happened to her NEVER leaves. You live with it forever. She told me do NOT give in under pressure and take that risk with my kids. protect them at all costs, no matter what anyone else has to say about it. They are YOUR kids, not theirs.
I always took that to heart and never took that kind of chance, and yes, I got criticized for it, but to the best of my knowledge, that is not something that any of my kids ever had to deal with.
I Googled the church, and it looks like they has a similar incident with another pastor a couple of years ago.
They didn’t seem concerned then, either.
According to her description, he asked her to do some things and she did them.
