Circumstantial evidence has a certain value.

God didnt reject the boys father, the boys father rejected God.

God is the one who decides who goes to heaven.I don't care much for Hippie Pope Frank, but he is one hundred percent correct here.
There are a lot of Christians here and elsewhere who think they know exactly who is in heaven and who is not. They're all just guessing.

The boy proclaims his father was an atheist, yet the Word of God says no man comes to the Father but through Me.
From what I can discern of the pope’s word-salad response, it appears the pope is saying this atheist person is in heaven.
The pope is a liar.

"That man didn't have the gift of faith, he wasn't a believer, but he had his children baptized.Wrong, Francis. The man was aware of the faith his children were baptized in, yet he rejected that faith.

Well since this Pope doesn’t believe in Hell.
An atheist must be in Heaven, no?
To: SeekAndFind
Ooh, baby, do you know what that’s worth?
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
They say in heaven, love comes first
We’ll make heaven a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth

Most evangelical leaders, including Greg Laurie, have stated that one must believe in Jesus Christ in order to go to Heaven and that good deeds (without Christ) are not enough to get to Heaven. Probably because that's what He said.
16For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:16-18 NASB [emphasis mine]

Agree....but we know one can be saved even as they are dying.....ie, the thief on the cross
So deathbed conversions are accepted with repentance
....however, I have no idea if this man repented

The current pope doesn't even believe in Hell. And he's YOUR pope. You have to do what he says per Unam Sanctam. You have no choice in the matter.
