There are a lot of Christians here and elsewhere who think they know exactly who is in heaven and who is not. They're all just guessing.

From what I can discern of the pope’s word-salad response, it appears the pope is saying this atheist person is in heaven.

Most evangelical leaders, including Greg Laurie, have stated that one must believe in Jesus Christ in order to go to Heaven and that good deeds (without Christ) are not enough to get to Heaven.

Probably because that's what He said.

So deathbed conversions are accepted with repentance
