Yes, that 20% are Seniors, as they are retired, and they are the ones asked for more $$ for the Youth, and can’t even get 1 REAL HYMN, just those Praise Choruses. Told not to disturb sermon to get up and go to RR. Well Seniors have medical issues that require it, it’s why we sit in the back rows. I stopped going 4 yrs ago when told that. I’m sure you don’t want me depositing the projectile stuff that comes from both ends on your carpet because of severe GI issues that are progressive and not controllable well, so don’t tell me not to go to the RR.
This is true of virtually any organization.

And it pretty much reflects modern society, as well.
The builders of the pyramids were the first to realize this.
Regards,
Jesus left specific instructions to His followers: “You shall be My witnesses.” (Acts 1:8). Witnessing to our faith in Jesus is not optional.

So it is about the money???? This guy needs to get some of his members elected to Congress, and FORCE 'we the people' to fund their fake charities. Jesus said NOT to beg or steal... but too many ignore what Jesus commanded... they figured out how to use the 'state' to fund their own traditions.
If you try to “serve”, you just become “the help”. Unappreciated, abused, taken for granted.
They (the church “leadership”) just USE people.
the church “leadership”, you know, the “clic”.
We’ll do all the fun/important stuff, you can wash dishes and take out the trash.
I quit church many years ago. Thanks for asking.
God also is telling his people to come out of the religious institutions.
Rev 18:4
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Jesus seemed to do ok with the initial 11 (not counting Judas in light of history).
The active believers have never been a super majority.
God is not impressed by big numbers.
“Weve become a church of spectators...”
Gee, ya think maybe thats because congregations have been forced into it over the past 20 uears??
Keep on making your church look like a rock concert hall - lights, fog, rock stars leading “worship”, which are “performance” songs, not congregational WORSHIP of God.
Few people can “wooaahh, WOAAAAAHHH woooaaaahh..” alomg with the “worship” team. Anyone who doesnt keep up with modern pop music will not even understand where the songs are going until that last line that gets repeated over and over for 15 minutes.
And then, you get pastor showing up looking like Tony Hawk or something - tee shirt, fashionably ripped jeans, 3 day goatee, Malcom X glasses, Madonna ear-piece mic... starts with a joke or two, reads ONE Bible verse and spends the next 12.3 minutes motivating his “audience” with funny stories, feel good theology... and then - oh! Its noon already, have a good week!
Ive seen dozens of previously sound churches go this way since the 90s. It sickens my soul.
Amen!
Right off the bat they are not Biblical in their approach.
They are to be rejected.

A guide to reignite your church's growth."--Andy Stanley, senior pastor at North Point Ministries
Well, that is not a ringing endorsement by any measure.
There are still some conservative evangelical churches that follow God’s Word, support the conservative principles of President Trump, and will never compromise with evil. Although we are becoming fewer and fewer. www.believersingrace.com
I have been in ministry. I came to this conclusion in the 80s.
Be hot or be cold.
I’m sure Jesus would just love this guy’s officious stance./s/
When the instructions are so clearly laid out for building a Church for free in God’s Word, it seems an incredible waste of resources to be paying ChurchBOOM for advice and training videos.
I would question whether the pastor in this situation is truly called by God and anointed to be a pastor. God may instead have called him to be a shoe salesman or entertainer - nothing wrong with either, and he would be far happier doing what God made him to be. Why turn to the world for spiritual answers? The last thing any church needs is more religion.
What does the Holy Spirit say? Not every church needs to be a mega-worship center with 25,000 in the pews. Just getting 100 people to spiritual maturity would be quite the accomplishment. I’m not aware of any award for largest congregation, maybe one exists? Imagine if you had a church with 100 people who had the faith of Caleb and Joshua, versus a mega-church full of folks like the spies who constantly give evil reports. Which do you think would get more done for the Body of Christ. Bigger is not always better.
It seems so simple - preach the Word, and praise God. Don’t feed the flesh, instead LIVE by every Word of God. Be led by the Spirit and acknowledge Him in everything you do. That is how you start, and grow the Body of Christ. God will place Believers in the Body where He pleases.
