No, he doesn’t. If he does, then the Apostle Paul does as well.

Is there a place for women in the service of God? Yes. We see examples of that in the NT.

However, what is not witnessed nor directed are women as minsters. To be clear...women are not to be pastors/ministers over a church.

Technically, Beth Moore isn’t a church leader. She’s more of an evangelist.

RE: What is the background? It sounds fishy.

READ THE BACKGROUND HERE:

https://religionnews.com/2019/10/19/accusing-sbc-of-caving-john-macarthur-says-beth-moore-should-go-home/

(EXCERPT)

Evangelical pastor John MacArthur, speaking at a celebration of his 50th year in pulpit ministry this week, weighed in on an ongoing debate in the Southern Baptist Convention over women preachers, claiming the nation’s largest Protestant denomination has lost faith in the authority of the Bible.

He claimed the SBC had taken a “headlong plunge” toward allowing women preachers at its annual meeting this summer.

That, he said, was a sign the denomination no longer believed in biblical authority.

“When you literally overturn the teaching of Scripture to empower people who want power, you have given up biblical authority,” said MacArthur.

During the “Truth Matters Conference,” held Oct. 16-18 at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, where he is pastor, MacArthur and other panelists were asked to give their gut reactions to one- or two-word phrases.

Asked to respond to the phrase “Beth Moore,” the name of a well-known Southern Baptist Bible teacher, MacArthur replied, “Go home.”

Sounds of laughter and applause could be heard in response during a recording of the session, which was posted online.

MacArthur — a leading proponent of Reformed theology and of complementarianism, the idea that women and men have different roles to play in the church and in society — was apparently responding to a controversy this past summer when Moore noted on Twitter that she spoke at a megachurch on a Sunday morning.

Her tweet led to accusations that Moore was undermining Southern Baptist teaching, which bars women from holding the office of pastor in churches.

RE: John Mac has always been a blunt jerk.

Yes, like Donald Trump. But is he right or wrong? That is the issue.

“He was disparaging every woman who has ever answered the call to ministry.”

That is because God hasn’t called any woman to be a pastor.

You don't have to be a Calvinist, or even a Christian, to admire the blunt talk of Dr. MacArthur. There is way too much restraint on speaking one’s mind in the current day. Look at the Republican wimps who cower any time Trump speaks forcefully or politically incorrectly. They would rather have the Bushes, who just rolled over like a whipped dog when criticized.

John Mac has always been a blunt jerk.

They used to stone prophets for being "blunt".

May such "bluntness" rain down from heaven in these times.

RE: “He was disparaging every woman who has ever answered the call to ministry.”

Methinks she protests too much when she uses the word— Disparaging.

As a Complementarian, MacArthur is NOT saying that Women should not be in ministry. I think she is misrepresenting his views here.

Beth Moore has gone off the doctrinal rails the last few years. She’s become an ultra femminst and vocally anti-Trump.
In the beginning she did well with her women’s Bible Studies, then seeking more power decided she should teach men also. She also began equating her “word from the Lord” above scripture.
Maybe John should have said “come back home to the Truth”, rather than “Go Home”. But he was not wrong to criticize Beth Moore.

Here’s the audio of what he was saying - and I can’t disagree with him. It goes to much more than women preachers..

It never takes long. Look at the growing schism in the United Methodists.
