i dont care about what your traditions say, i care what the Bible says, and it shows that differently than what your tradition claims.

How does it show differently? Brother and step-brother are both adelphos in Greek. You supplement the words of Holy Scripture with a post-Enlightnment literalist hermeneutic, we Orthodox supplement them with the Church's lived recollection of facts not recorded in Scripture. Who is more reliably likely to get what the Holy Apostles and Evanglists were saying right: you, picking up their writings in the 21st century, or their near contemporaries who knew them at first, second or third hand, and lived in the same culture and spoke the same language?
But the bible is tradition. Do you realize that Jesus didn't type the New Testament on his Smith-Corona? It was eventually written down in different forms based on the tradition resulting from Jesus' ministry.
