Bump for read. I think I will get grief from both sides on this one! Well, this won't beat you up, because you didn't write it (did you)? Actually, it started out very good, but it ended up pretty bad. So, we'll eat the fish, and through out the bones. Thanks for the post

Amen! Thank you!

Good read, I expect you will get mostly silence as people hope this article goes away.

Amen! Thank you!

No wonder you are able to swallow all that Catholic twaddle

A spoonful of authority helps the Doctrine go down (in the most delighful way).

I didn't say exclusively :). Besides, the most imortant part, for one appealing to Scripture is to ignore Matt16:18,19 and site an Ecumenical Council occuring more'n 300 years after the fact

This pillar your talking about is one of the five, isn't it? We don't have those in the Christian religion.

Your link is like your attempt to read Catholics out of Christianity - neither worked :)

At the Council of Nicea, called by the Roman Emperor Constantine, his bishops began the first "system" of Judao–Christian coded laws, to be expanded through the dark ages by Popes and their hierarchy of bishops; Whew...I had to read this deep into the article to discover an attack on the Catholic Church that Jesus established Matt16:18. Do you ever run across Theological pieces in your Communion that don't attack The Pillar of Truth or is that the sine qua non of protestant theology?

I am sorry for missing this post.

We 'Protestants' (as a Baptist I would not consider myself a 'Protestant' per se) depict history as it happened, which means exposing Romanism.

My current Pastor is a brillant man from So. Carolina. He is a convert from So. Baptism - there is still hope for you :)

As for being exposed, I am way to shy, and fat, to be exposed :)

A Southern Baptist, I am an Independent Baptist. We regard Southern Baptists as almost Catholic anyway :>)

When speaking of 'Romanism' it is never a reference to individual Catholics (who are generally fine people) but of the system.:>)

As a former Catholic, I believe I can speak to the misguidance of the religious belief system that this article is speaking about at this point. Firstly, the Catholic religion claims Peter (Matt 16:18) as the father of their religion. However, Christ’s church is not chosen Catholics as much as it isn’t chosen Calvinists. Peter is the rock of Christ’s universal church which is all true believers, not an establishment. And lastly, the war of Catholics and Protestants is exactly what this article is NOT about. This article is a refreshing point to the truth, pure and simple with much grace and wisdom. I pray you will read it again with open and loving eyes for the Lord is truly represented here. May God bless your endeavors.
