"did not JS pen the BOM?"

No, he translated it verbaly and a scribe wrote it down.

"In it does he not relate God calling polygamy an abomination "

He called both David's and Solomon's actions an abonimation, for both of them took a plural wife out of their own lust (just as those Nephites were doing). The plural wives that they had been given by God were not sinfull for them to have. No Nephites were given plural wives by God or commanded to take any, hence verse 30.

"you are dodging and weaving my friend...do you have an answer?"

I've given my answer several times over, even if you don't understand it I'm still making the effort. You have ignored my answers however, so I really don't see how you are in any position to point fingers at me.

"you have not proved that Jacob took a wife after God took Rachel following His conversion"

Doesn't matter, he kept the wives and concubines he had and was never asked to give them up or condemned by God for having them at any time. I haven't checked the exact timing, but Benj.'s birth seems to be more than 9 months after what you call his conversion.

"or that David ever had sexual relations with the women he put away"

He didn't, Mosaic law forbade him to be with those defiled women and I pointed out to you before. Your analysis of the situation is about the worst I've seen.

"after he repented following the death of his son..."

MORE THAN 40 YEARS of time passed between the death of that son and what you are pointing at. He put them away because another of his sons defiled them and so by Mosaic Law they would not continue as his wives. You attempts to spin it into some kind of anti-polygamy argument is nuts.

So, whatever question you feel like answering, I'm supposed to answer, but if I ask a question or want to debate a point which you started, you're allowed to change subjects ad nauseam? If this is how you debate, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to pass.

this is so true HD I am listing on my profile page all the one that have been baited and than ignored after it was defended! Sometimes they will ignore the print on the page and spin! spin! spin!

You said something I was hoping you would clarify:

James says that God wants us to become 'perfect and entire, wanting nothing' (v4)
James says if we 'lack wisdom', we can obtain it from God. (v5)
Therefore we can get from God ANY wisdom we need to become 'perfect and entire, wanting nothing'.

If you're saying what I think you're saying, I very much disagree... Are you saying the wisdom we request, when granted, makes us "perfect and entire" as the KJV puts it? Please correct me where/if I've inferred incorrectly and expand on your thoughts if applicable.

I almost missed this post.

"Are you saying the wisdom we request, when granted, makes us "perfect and entire""

Not at all. Having wisdom is good, but if a person ignores it and follows after their own lusts it does them no good (case in point: Solomon).

I'm saying that if in the course of becoming perfect and entire we find ourselves at some point where we lack the wisdom to know what choice is right, or what action to take or whatever and we need God's input, we can get that wisdom from God. After that it is up to us to follow God's wisdom, even if it grates against our natural inclinations. By FOLLOWING God's wisdom be become more perfect and entire, not just by getting it.

By FOLLOWING God's wisdom be become more perfect and entire, not just by getting it.

That's what I thought you meant, but my problem was inferring just that from your previous post. As I saw it, I couldn't get here from there. By clarifying your position we have come down to the exact point of contention, which I will expand on later.

I've put together a complete picture of James 1:1-8 here as a separate post. That post explains my position in detail.
