Candidate possibly embellishing military career with unearned ribbons & medals

There is a current politician and candidate running for reelection here in SW Ohio who is a peacetime Air Force veteran. She served honorably for 6 years as an officer. She never saw combat nor was in theater.

What is troubling is that this politician goes around wearing a chest full of military ribbons as if she were some sort of war hero. She wears them on her shirts, jackets, and other articles of clothing at public events. She almost resembles General Patton. She also let's you know that she is a veteran over and over and over again. She campaigns on it. John Kerry would be very proud of his Democratic colleague.

Here's where it gets interesting; when she first ran for office the ribbons she wore were those she was awarded while in the service. We can identify all of 7 them and I have her official USAF photo.

BUT, since then, they have more than doubled and now she is sporting 18 ribbons!! Some people are wondering if she is wearing ROTC ribbons or just bought some at the flea market and is trying to puff herself up even more.

I have identified awards she initially sported. They appear to be legitimate. HOWEVER I cannot identify the rest (11 others). I have searched through AFROTC, CAP, etc as well as other military award charts and just cannot find any of them.

Any help exposing this potential fraud would be greatly appreciated. Please see the posted pictures below for more details. I could be wrong and she might have earned them, whatever they are. But we need to know for sure to protect the honor of all servicemen & women. Thank you!

4th row on her right appears to be a ROTC "Daughters of the American Revolution" ribbon:

She is a lawyer in Ohio and as a member of the bar can face disbarment for observed violation of Title 18 USC. Anyone can make the complaint.

I'm sure she earned them, I think the AF gives you a ribbon for taking a dump. I've seen Airmen E-3’s with more ribbons than my Vietnam Veteran Platoon Sergeant who had a Bronze Star with a “V” and Purple Hearts.

If you read the thread, you will discover that the bottom three rows don't appear to be USAF ribbons.

How old is she? When did she serve? I ask that because the white-black-red ribbon (and medal) shown in the middle picture (medal and second row middle in the ribbons) and the bottom picture (top row right) is the post WWII occupation medal. According to the medals poster here at the Navy command where I work, it also includes the Berlin Airlift, but was probably not issued after 1950.

My Dad had that medal.

The Army of Occupation Medal was issued as recently as 1990 for service in Berlin - source.

I don't think that even the Air Force allows the ribbons to be worn with civilian attire. Am I correct?

I am sorry, but she strikes me as someone with a hell of an Attitude.

Looking at her for some reason reminds me of Capt Holly Graf.

Some types of people when they get real power are just off the chain and if they don't get respect will go ballistic at the drop of a hat and terrify those around (and especially under) them...

Oh, and next time would you Please be kind enough to give us her name so that I would not have to stare at this picture of her name tags and try all the possible spelling guesses until I finally hit upon PILLICH to find her web site online?

I don’t believe ANY branch of the service allows wearing ribbons with civilian attire. Tell me again, she’s a Democrat, right? She sure looks like one.

Top Row From Left: Unidentified (not on USAF list), Distinguished Flying Cross, WWII Army of Occupation

If correct, something is very wrong here.

Looking at her site, I could not find her political affiliation mentioned anywhere on any of her pages.

However, going to her official Ohio House of Representative web page at

http://www.house.state.oh.us/index.php?option=com_displaymembers&task=detail&district=28

she is listed as a Democrat with the (D) after her name.

Must be a reason for what she is doing. Probably wanting to distance herself from being identified as a Democrat.

Obviously without mentioning her political affiliation on her personal web site, and wearing the medals on her chest, she is obviously thinking the voters are stupid enough not to notice.

Sadly, apparently so far she has been right...

Connie and her husband, Paul Forshey, live in Montgomery. Their two children attend Sycamore Schools...

http://www.conniepillich.com/

I do have to admit I was surprised to see on her personal web site that she had a husband (and two wonderful looking children).

However, I do find it interesting that she did not take her husband's last name in any form (not even Pillich-Forshey). So even though she is a wife and a mother it still seems that she is the "Star" of the family.

In the picture Mr. Forshey does not seem to mind his wife wearing the medals. Or at least is willing to stand in a photo with his wife wearing them.

I certainly wish all the best for Mr Paul Forshey.

If correct, something is very wrong here.

Well, something is wrong (too many medals, many of which are unidentified), but it was pointed out to me that the middle is not the DFC, but a unit award. My monitor colors were off a bit and I didn't notice the end colors of the ribbon were wrong for the DFC.

I have been trying to reach her for comment directly. Hmmm... so far, no response. Just like Holly Graf.

Noticed you are new to FR. Not that I mind but seems you are having us do the homework for you.

BTW you did not mention the political party of the candidate.

I don't think they are going to reply to you. Nothing in it for them to do so.

Holly Graf is protected by the Lesbian sisterhood at the Pentagon (as I understand it reading the Military Corruption site). Looking at the link to your site

http://www.susankatzkeating.com/search/label/Holly%20Graf

you have done a good job covering "Horrible Holly" and her unprofessional military leadership.

As for Connie Pillich - probably best for her to ignore any comments on her medals and just keep wearing them to impress the gullible voters. I sure noticed she does not mention she is a Democrat anywhere on her web site...

Best you or anyone else can do is write up and expose them so the powers that be have to take action eventually.

Thanks for your work that you are doing.

Love your theory that Holly Graf was promoted for reasons of military deception to fool our enemies into thinking that all of our Navy officers have lost their marbles...

Geez... Linking to the photos on your site (hope you don't mind) and looking at Holly Gref's official Navy profile photo and the photo of her (on the left) standing beside the two Russian male officers... I think I have discovered the reason for her anger. It may be a catty thing for me to say, but (except for the fact that she is shorter) I look more like a woman than she does... and I wasn't born one...
