Communist Goals (1963)

Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35

January 10, 1963

Current Communist Goals

EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Thursday, January 10, 1963

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.

At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen:

[From "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen]

CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS

1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament of the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.

7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.

8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)

12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.

14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand.

39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use united force to solve economic, political or social problems.

43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.

44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.

45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction over nations and individuals alike.

I've seen this before. I think metalbird posted it a long time ago and I stumbled on it in the archives. Kept my fire lit for a week, it did.

Can anyone look at this list and not see that every single one of its recommendations is being met? But if you talk about the Communist menace or "creeping socialism" you're a right-wing lunatic with a persecution complex. Okay. Must just be coincidence. Sorry. Didn't mean to offend, komrade.

One thing is missing from their plan which otherwise appears to be operating like clockwork: gain control of the the world's servers. Infiltrate the Internet. It's no wonder all the mainstream media can do is bash "hate sites" and talk about censorship. such control over people is always presented as a societal good.

Many of these proposals are outlined in the writings of the Italian Communist Antonio Gramsci. The one I remember best calls for the destruction of "common sense" via the public education system. Scary, that.

Communism has been described as not a philosophy, but an international conspiracy. I believe even communists are used by a greater conspiracy, which is centered in New York.

Larry Abraham wrote:"In reality,Communism is a tyranny planned by power seekers whose most effective weapon is lying. And if one takes all of the lies of Communism and boils them down, you will find that they distill into two major lies: 1. Communism is inevitable, and
2. Communism is a movement of the downtrodden masses rising up against exploiting capitalism."

We know who the father of lies is...

He also wrote ""The drive to establish SOCIALISM is at the core of everything the Communists and the insiders do. Marx and all of his successors in the Communist movement have ordered their followers to work on building SOCIALISM. If you hear an official Communist speaker, he never mentions Communism. He will speak only of the struggle to complete the socialization of America. At a communist bookstore you will find all their literature pushes this theme. it does not call for the establishment of Communism but SOCIALISM"

"...We are not supposed to believe that Communism is a political conspiracy. We can believe anything else we wish to about it. We can believe that it is brutal, tyrannical, evil,or even that it intends to bury us, and we will win plaudits of the vast majority of the American people. But don't ever, ever use the word conspiracy if you expect applause, for that is when the wrath of liberaldom will be unleashed against you. We are not disallowed from believing in all types of conspiracy, just modern political conspiracy."

Conspirators must be accomplished liars and far seeing planners.

This should be REREAD and RE-ENTERED into the Congressional Record by some good congressman. Would make good "Special Orders" or "morning hour speeches" material.

Here is an even earlier warning:

Stop Australia Going Under

Reprinted from political ad in the Western Australian Sunday Times, December 3, 1995

In 1944, U.S. Congressman Samuel Pettengill warned America that socialists would endeavor to have the U.S. spend itself into bankruptcy, with a view to making citizens totally dependent on a centralized government.

Pettengill detailed TEN POINTS of the socialist manifesto that would destroy free government. Almost 50 years later, down under in Australia, it is disturbing to reflect on Pettengill's 10 points.

1) People must be made to feel their utter helplessness and their inability to solve their own problems. While in this state of mind, there is held up before them a benign and all-wise leader to whom they MUST look to the cure for all their ills.

2) The principle of local self-government must be WIPED OUT, so that this leader or group in control can have all the political power readily at hand.

3) Constitutional guarantees must be swept aside. This accomplished in part by RIDICULING them as outmoded and an obstruction to progress.

4) Public faith in the legal profession and respect for the courts must be undermined. The law making body must be intimidated and from time to time rebuked, so as to prevent the development of public confidence in it.

5) Economically, the people must be ground down by high taxes, which under one pretext or another they are called upon to pay. Thus they are brought to a common level and all income above a meager living is taken from them. In this manner, economic independence is kept to a minimum.

6) A great public debt must be built so the citizens can never escape its burden, making government the virtual receiver for the entire nation.

7) A general distrust of private business and industry must be kept alive so the public may not begin to rely on its own resources.

8) Government bureaus are set up to control practically every phase of the citizen's lives.

9) The education of the youth of the nation is taken under CONTROL so that all may be indoctrinated at an early age with a spirit of submission to the system.

10) To supplement and fortify all the foregoing, there is kept up a steady stream of GOVERNMENT PROPAGANDA designed to extol all who bow the knee and to vilify those who dare raise a voice of dissent.

Samuel Barret Pettengill U. S. Congressman 1886-1974 Reprinted from an article in Ken Hamblin 'Talks with America' News letter Feb. 19. 1996 P.O.. Box 562 Castle Rock, CO 80104

I have said this before, when I found out that Clinton had been in Russia during the Viet-nam war, it raised the hairs on the back of neck. I have always believed that he was trained by the Communist's to be a mole in the government and that he has deliberately committed subversive acts against the peoples of the United States.

Strangly enough, there were people, civilian and military, at the place I worked who felt the same way. Some ranked him right in there with the Fonda - Jane, that is.

Thank God I did not vote for him!

1-45 seems to have happened. UhUh!, must be coincidence.
With a verible TRAITOR as President(they missed that one), seems everthing is right left ontrack. Kinda makes me feel like voteing is an effort in confusion. I voted all my life in national, state, and local elections, ONLY TO END UP WITH THIS SENARIO. All my efforts, it seems, we're a finger in a dike. I severly overestimated the spirit of the American people.
Won't do that again. Dis-spirited,<-ME! !.

Of course!. With Alan Keyes being treated as a "Red-Headed step child" among blacks and an "albino" among whites it kind of makes you wonder what is it that the American people WANT!.

** So be it, then. WE WILL have the gIverment we deserve. We've worked for it, agonized over it, voted and campaigned for it, even stopped teaching civics in high schools to dumb down the next generation for it. Yup! WE, not them, deserve it. The leftists ARE motivated, the others, WE, are not, obviously. Otherwise this laughable plan(20 years ago) WOULD'NT have succeeded as it has. Conservatives too busy out makeing money, watching football, and mowing the lawn, and supremely confident that the American people would not let the Commies march into Washington D.C. and TAKE OVER!.

We're WRONG!. I never get them, but I like easy answers.
When I look at MTV, the soaps, SAT scores-> Anarchy is the next stop in this train to Chaosville. Anarchy is a bit brutal but Hey! the mother of all riots is prepared, waiting, and set to provide a easy answer to what ails America. In this century WARS provided the easy answer but this time no international war will happen, it will be a domestic family fight over money.

Ever read any Antonio Gramsci's "Prison Notebooks, " or just the article in the Bircher magazine The New American?

Wow, this seems so long ago, though it has only been three months. I did read some of Gramsci's Prison Notebooks, volumes one and two. I scanned certain parts that did not seem relevant, as I was playing "library tag" with a university instructor who was probably using it as a training manual.

Here are a few of the sections I copied down in my own journals:

"The basic innovation introduced by Marx into the science of politics and of history, in comparison with that of Machiavelli, is the demonstration that "human nature," fixed and immutable, does not exist and that, therefore, the concrete content(as well as the logical formulation?) of political science must be conceived as a historically developing organism."(vol. II p. 150)

"The intellectuals have the function of organizing the social hegemony of a group and that group's domination of the state; in other words, they have the functioning of organizing the consent that comes from the prestige attached to the function in the world of production and the apparatus of coercion for those groups who do not "consent" either actively or passively or for those moments of crisis of command and leadership when spontaneous consent undergoes a crisis."(vol. II p. 201)

"The elementary grades should last three to four years; they should teach dogmatically(relatively speaking of course) the basic elements of the new conception of the world, in opposition to the conception of the world conveyed by the traditional environment(folklore in its true scope), in addition to imparting, obviously, the fundamental instruments of culture: reading, writing, arithmetic, elements of geography, history, rights, and duties(that is, the first notions of the state and society)." (vol. II p. 211)

My edition was translated by a Joseph A. Buttigieg, published by Colombia U. Press in 1996.

Can anyone help.
I've been searching for "the document" "manifesto" or whatever where communists bragged that as a last act toward capitalism they would perform some amazing act to completely disorient them. I think it was penned in the 20's but I'm not sure.

Seems to me the "fall" of the U.S.S.R. and the Berlin Wall could've been this act(s), because it surely worked. But be that true or not I can't find the quote anywhere.

Might this be what you're looking for??

Longtime observers of the world communist movement were concerned that Gorbachev was beguiling the West using a blueprint Dimitri Manuilski gave to his students at the Lenin School of Political Warfare in Moscow in 1930.

One of the students, Zack Kornfeld, later broke with the Communist Party and told the story.

He reported that Manuilski, who served later as Russia's representative to the United Nations, told the class:

"War to the hilt between communism and capitalism is inevitable.
Today, of course, we are not strong enough to attack. Our time will come in 20 to 30 years.
To win, we shall need the element of surprise. The bourgeoisie will have to be put to sleep. So we shall begin by launching the most SPECTACULAR PEACE MOVEMENT ON RECORD.
There will be electrifying overtures and unheard of concessions. The capitalist countries, stupid and decadent, will rejoice to cooperate in their own destruction. They will leap at another chance to be friends. As soon as their guard [military] is down, WE WILL SMASH THEM WITH OUR CLENCHED FIST."
(3)

Were Gorbachev and his fellow Reds implementing Manuilski's 1930 blueprint as the decade of the 1980s ended?
America's future and Western freedom could depend on getting the correct answer to that crucial question. [Of course, disobedience to our God can bring punishment at the hands of men - Ps. 83].

The Soviets were making "electrifying overtures and unheard of concessions." The United States and other Western leaders were rushing to grasp "at another chance to be friends."

Were the changes real? Would they be long-lasting? Or could they all be just an implementation of Manuilski's treacherous blueprint? Gorbachev's own words give cause for caution and concern.

When President Reagan announced that Communists had given up their goal of world domination, newsmen asked the President whether Gorbachev had actually made that commitment. Mr. Reagan admitted that he based his optimism not on Gorbachev words but on a hope and a general feeling he got in the summit meeting. He added, "In addition Gorbachev is the only communist leader who has never publicly committed himself to world conquest."(4)

Tragically, President Reagan's staff had not prepared him well for the summit meeting. Otherwise, he would not have made that statement.

Just four weeks before the President and Gorbachev met in December 1987, the Soviet dictator delivered his now famous "Perestroika" speech to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the Supreme Soviet.

His closing words were not so well publicized. Gorbachev recommitted himself and the Communist Party "to the great Leninist cause." He closed the three hour speech with the words: "In October 1917 we parted with the old world, rejecting it once and for all. We are moving towards a new world, the world of communism. We shall never turn off that road!"(5)

Time for an April bump! And a quote, at no extra cost:

"America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards. On the road to tyranny, we've gone so far that polite political action is about as useless as a miniskirt in a convent."

For the record, here is a passage from "Five Years to Freedom" that concerns the "classes and reeducation" attempts by the communist Vietnamese on American servicemen:

We adapted a sit and listen attitude, feeling that the more we said, the worse off we'd be.

Rocky, on the other hand, was engaging all comers. I could hear Mr. Moui's voice climb an octave...as Rock would contradict something Muoi had said. Major Hai alternated with Muoi and Ba in attempting to sway the steadfast Versace. ...Ba would completely lose his composure, yelling "No! No! No!" when Rocky maneuvered him into a contradiction, using Ba's lack of familiarity with English to trip him up. After a while, the cadre stayed primarily with French and English to prevent the guards from understanding Rocky's counterarguments which might have adversely influenced the indoctrination that they were receiving.

The Vietnamese nicknamed Plato:"If you take an individual and control his physical, you do not neccessarily control the man; but, if you can control his mind, you also control the physical and the whole." He explained that it was his duty in the following days to explain the situation in Vietnam to me and help me to realize the mistakes I had made in coming to Vietnam. The ultimate goal, he said, was to help me to correct my errors and become a better person.......That evening, ...I discovered where Rocky was. The sound of voices was difficult to hear as far from the other huts as I was, but Moi's outraged voice echoed through the woods immediately after I heard Rocky's resolute pronouncement, "Cong San!"-communist. ...Rocky wasn't easing up one bit.

The most devestating thing is for a POW to feel he has been betrayed by those for whom he is fighting. (folks, the violent raid will be used on Elian to convince him he was betrayed by those he loves; it is therefore essential to Craig's interests that he not be allowed to see the Miami relatives again.)

Rowe goes on in his book: ...Our greatest fear was that no one on the outside would know that we were alive...

I recalled reading about his famous weeping admission that "mistakes" (the slaughter of farmers) and his own cadre, who had done his bidding, were purged. (Sound like anyone you know?)

"...the insidious controlling of their (the Vietnamese people) spirit would kill them in a state where they could only comply, without recourse....

... he pursued the world revolution theme at great length, saying he looked forward to visiting the United states after the revolution had destroyed the base of capitalism andimperialism....

This interesting passage is most important: In this situation, the VC were exploiting the weaknesses of the individuals who are unsure ofmany things...In depriving them of any interelationship or interdependence, the cadre could work on individual anxieties and attack the loyalties which the man had formed...Over a period of time, loyalties, if not deeply rooted and well-formed, can be eroded. Without unity, there is no method of maintaining the validity of one's beliefs while the cadre works to destroy them.

To: dls442 - A Reprise... The 1789 French 'Reign of Terror' continues to this Day...even in the USA...

The 'Communist Goals' on this Thread have a 200 year History - and, they are Globalist, Demonic, and they pervade Our Society to This Day...

Excerpt from an amazing Book:

..."Inevitably, the winds of change began to blow, and before long they reached hurricane force, uprooting an entire way of life and shaking a nation loose from its foundations. The French Revolution, beginning in 1789 and never really ending, was at once a revolt, an inquisition, and a Pandora's box releasing two shadows of tyranny for every sunbeam of freedom...." - Link:

Well, what first? The asteroid or communism?? I seem to remember reading Winston Churchill commenting on the subject 60 years ago. He said something to the effect of Russia and China had all the time in the world and knew how to use it. They would wait and be concilliatory with America 'til the time was right, then strike the fatal blow...

Is the time now right?? It sure has to be close. I would begin mentally and physically preparing yourself because a vicious assualt on your personal freedoms may be very close...

Communist Goals (1963)

Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35

1.- U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war. DONE

2.- U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.DONE

3.- Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.DONE

4.- Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.DONE

5.- Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.DONE

6.- Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.DONE

7.- Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.DONE

8.- Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.DONE

9.- Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.DONE

10.- Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.DONE

11.- Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)

12.- Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.DONE

13.- Do away with all loyalty oaths.DONE

14.- Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.DONE

15.- Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.DONE

16.- Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.DONE

17.- Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.DONE

18.- Gain control of all student newspapers.DONE

19.- Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.DONE

20.- Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.DONE

21.- Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.DONE

22.- Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."DONE

23.- Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."DONE

24.- Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.DONE

25.- Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.DONE

26.- Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."DONE

27.- Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."DONE

28.- Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."DONE

29.- Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.DONE

30.- Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."DONE

31.-Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.DONE

32.- Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.DONE

33.- Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.DONE

34.- Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.DONE

35.- Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

36.- Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.DONE

37.- Infiltrate and gain control of big business.DONE

38.- Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].DONE

39.- Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.DONE

40.- Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.DONE

41.- Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.DONE

42.- Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.DONE

43.- Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.DONE

44.- Internationalize the Panama Canal.DONE

45.- Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.
