After pleading guilty to a felony in the 1996 Democratic fund-raising scandal, Clinton money-man Charlie Yah Lin Trie was sentenced Tuesday by a Little Rock judge to four months of home detention and four years probation. Trie was also fined $5,000.
Oddly, as the Wall Street Journal noted on Wednesday, Judge George Howard actually had to bump up the sentence from the penalty Janet Reno's prosecutors had in mind - something just the other side of a ticker tape parade.
Reno's gang recommended a barely noticable tap on the wrist for Charlie Trie; just three years probation and $150 fine. Hey, it's the least they could do after Trie so fortuitously hotfooted it out of the country one step ahead of congressional investigators in 1996 and, upon his return, put his shredding machines to work overtime.
Meanwhile, as NewsMax.com has been reporting for a week, former Clinton fund-raiser Johnny Chung continues to connect the Chinagate dots for anyone who cares to listen. For Chung's candor, the DNC - of which the Justice Department has become a wholly owned subsidiary - wanted a Washington judge to throw the book at him.
Clearly frustrated after cooperating with prosecutors only to be hung out to dry (Chung has suffered through several attempts on his life), the key Chinagate witness has begun taking his story directly to the public.
He started with a compelling address at Judicial Watch's Fifth Anniversary Awards Dinner on Oct. 23. A week later, completely unsolicited, Chung phoned into Lucianne Goldberg's talk radio show.
Tuesday afternoon Chung ran the mainstream media blockade by spending an hour with WABC radio's Sean Hannity in New York, who has booked him for Tuesday and Wednesday night appearances on Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes." (9:00 PM to 10:00 PM EST)
Chung says he has more to reveal, including new details about Beijing's attempts to kill him.
Apparently the White House has taken notice. Chung told Goldberg that the Clinton IRS put a tax lien on all his property just one day after he spoke at the Judicial
Watch dinner.
So, is Trie homefree now? Will he speak out against Clinton now that he has been sentenced (rest assured, had he done so prior to that, the Justice Department would have recommended far more Draconian punishment), or will he seek to become a forgotten player?
It time for us to take action. Freepers believe in self reliance so it is not only a mistake to wait for someone else to take action it is morally wrong. We must stop the flow of money from American consumers to Wal-Mart to China to Couurpt Washington officials.Wal-Mart is one of the biggest importers of Chinese goods. 80% of their clothing is imported. If we make Wal-Mart stop buying Chinese goods a message will be sent. Boycott Wal-Mart now. Be a leader and organize a campaign in your area. Boycott Wal-Mart now. It worked for our founders when they boycotted tea. Boycott Wal-Mart now. Boycott!!!
Why choose Wal-Mart?
Last year they had sales of $137,000,000,000.00. They are the largest retail importer from China. They are six times as large as Target and four times as large as K-Mart. Wal-Mart is about 2.5 times the size of both companies combined.
Wal-mart is cognisant of its customer's wishes which is why it is not selling some products but it is neither moral or immoral. It is just a company that is responsive to its customers needs. If it knew its customers were concerned about religious persecution in China it would respond. If it knew its customers were concerned about its financing the PRC Military buildup it would respond.
It might not respond in the way we would like. In the past, some of its actions appear to some people, to be misleading. For example they will display a few products with large flag drapped signs that say "Made In the USA" to give the impression that they have a lot of local stuff. They don't. They had to stop their made in the USA campaign. They have a sign in some stores that says "This product created six jobs in America." Six jobs from a company that should do over $160,000,000,000.00 this year! Some people say that Bill Clinton learned how to market his campaign from the way his Arkansas buddy Sam Walton sold goods at Wal-Mart.
They also give themselves a pat on the back that is a little too big for the deeds. For example, they support The Childrens Miracle Network, a wonderfull cause. Most all of the money is raised by the employees from their customers and does not come from the corporate till. Wal-Mart requires most of its contributions to be matching, with the solicitations being made at the store. This makes the store the focal point of the community and magnifies Wal-Mart's roll in the campaign. Based on sales or assets Target is more generous, although after Wal-Mart stops importing Target will be next.
Don't forget that Hillary was once on their board.
Boycott Wal-Mart!!!!
You've confused me for someone who cares about your issue.
Morning Bump
