Albanian politicians are helping Bin Laden

SPECIAL TO WORLD TRIBUNE.COM

Wednesday, November 17, 1999

[Emphasis added]

LONDON -- Islamic fundamentalists as well as several leading politicians in Albania are believed to be helping Saudi billionaire fugitive Osama Bin Laden find a new place of refuge, Arab sources said this week.

The sources said Western intelligence agencies believe Bin Laden is in contact with supporters in Albania and Kosovo in an attempt to find a new refuge amid heavy United States pressure on the Taliban ruling faction in Afghanistan to surrender Bin Laden.

For the United States, the sources said, the problem is compounded by links Bin Laden has formed with Albanian politicians. They said Bin Laden has bought several key politicians who have looked away from the activities of his supporters in Albania.

On Monday, the London-based Al Quds Al Arabi daily reported that the CIA is investigating the connection between Albania and Bin Laden.

Earlier, Albanian police working and the CIA arrested a Jordanian national suspected of being an associate of Bin Laden in Albania. The arrest was conducted on Friday and the Jordanian national was taken out of the country.

The Tirana-based Koha Jone daily said on Sunday that the 42-year-old suspect was a Jordanian businessman who had been living in Albania since 1992 and had been granted Albanian citizenship. The unidentified businessman heads a charity and has interests in the construction business, the newspaper said.

"Escorted by the CIA agents, he was taken by special plane to an unknown destination," the paper said.

On Sunday, the United Nations ignored Taliban appeals and imposed sanctions on Afghanistan for its refusal to hand over Bin Laden.

Just what is needed in the chaos of Kosovo--a multi-millionaire terrorist setting up shop with his old friends, the Albanian KLA.

Given that the place is violently out of control despite the efforts of NATO/UN peacekeepers, Bin Laden couldn't pick a better place on the globe to slip quietly below the surface of the fantastic social and political turmoil created in Kosovo by the Clinton/Albright/NATO bombing blunder in the Balkans.

Of course you know that when Russia was invading Afganistan, Bin Laden was a good guy on our side, against those nasty ole Russians.

Our CIA paid him well. He helped us distribute those stinger missiles to take down those nasty Russian choppers in Afganistan.

Sometimes you have to use a calendar to tell who are the good guys and who are the bad guys.

Just as capitalists can make money playing both sides of a war, politicians can exploit any situation to their gain. Bin Laden is the bogeyman in the shadows anyone can use to his advantage, even if he does anything or not.

Right you are--but in this case we simply hookrd up with a genuinely bad kind of guy to kick some Russian butt.

Osama has a hefty hate list--but its focus is on non-Muslim countries--and America is #1 with a big circle around it. Nothing worse than rich, white Christian capitalists in bin Laden's book. His mission is to wipe these infidels from the face of the Earth.

This clip from last year gives a little glimpse of Osama's plans for Kosovo.

Iranians move in

Uzi Mahnaimi, Cairo

Iranian Revolutionary Guards have joined forces with a Saudi millionaire to support the Albanian underground movement in Kosovo.

They hope to turn the region into their main base for Islamic armed activity in Europe.

According to a senior Egyptian security source, an agreement was signed in Tehran on February 16 with the Saudi Osama Bin Laden who also has links with Afghanistan's fundamentalist Taliban militia.

Bin Laden, 44, described by the US State Department as "one of the most significant sponsors of Islamic extremist activities", has begun extending his operations to eastern Europe. He has supported Muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo, the source said. Iran is keen to strengthen its presence in the region.

Bin Laden's activities appear to have been concentrated so far mainly in the Bosnian town of Zenica. Five Egyptian members of the al-Gamaa al-Islamiya movement, which killed 58 tourists in Luxor last November, have now moved to Kosovo.

Folks, to me this sounds like B.S. - you can say all you want about how K-FOR is bumbling, but they still can go anywhere in Kosovo. Bin Laden would be major league stoopid to go there. He'd be far more likely to go to Sudan or Libya or some other place where the U.S. military would be unable to insert ground troops to get him.

Why do I get the feeling that they don't want to bring bin-ladan in? They said we could never find Saddam Hussein in Iraq. But Bin-ladan isn't the ruler of his own country. It seems like they should be able to find him.

You know, it will serve Clinton right, his worst enemy hooking up with his best pals, what delicious irony, but how is he going to deal with it ?

It's a new paradigm. Once I started thinking in new us and them terms, and acknowledging that I don't know which is which in every case, I began to see things more clearly.

The Larouches and other kooks are half right, but they don't have it all figured out.

I do think follow the money is the best way to unravel all of this.

If you see things this way, the Pat Buchanan strange bedfellows stuff starts to make sense, too.

There is some wild stuff on the Rumormill that sounds half right, but it gets pretty wacky. The link is HERE

Does anybody remember a post in the last 2 weeks about an SOF company in Alex. VA called "US Mil Pro"? I would appreciate getting that info again.

My intel is that bin Laden is in Kuwait City, and travels back and forth to Afgan. via Iran, and that he used to be a Captain in the Iranian Nat'l Guard for many years, responsible for bombings of kindergartens so the Iranian people would turn against the Shah.

I understand that a US gov. contractor, like US Mil Pro, cannot be eligible for the reward money for turning bin Laden in. Anybody know if that's true?

PS, I heard from another reliable source that bin Laden went to college in Atlanta years ago. They don't tell us that in the lamestream press.

Bin Laden would be major league stoopid to go there. He'd be far more likely to go to Sudan or Libya or some other place where the U.S. military would be unable to insert ground troops to get him.

Perhaps you're right on his movement. The only drawback there, depending on accuracy of U.S intelligence, is possibility he may be targeted in Libya and Sudan by another Bubba missile attack as the First Felon seeks for a Hero's Medal in taking out bin Laden. Both those places have already been hit by U.S. missiles, so their precedent as targets has already been established.

OTOH, there are many spots in Kosovo for Osama to get cover--places where the KFOR peacekeepers would not want to ruffle the feathers of the KLA enclaves for fear of starting the inevitable firefight. Any open warfare between the Albanians and NATO would announce the total failure of Clinton's Serbian War.

Let's see what develops with the bin Laden news--the lamestream is not too eager to touch this topic right now--especially in view of the Sudan fiasco and the growing embarassment internationally over Bubba and the Balkans.

Did you ever hear of Bin Laden before the Sudan bombing? Ever? Then his picture was all over the news, how he was this super evil mastermind of all things terrorist. Then we declared war on terrorism....then Clinton was acquitted...then we moved on.....
