harassed at Arena Albany -- Police unit was spit at and called names as they carried flags at Democratic convention Members of the Albany Police Department Honor Guard were harassed and spit on by a few people as they carried flags into Tuesday's Democratic state convention at Pepsi Arena, officials said. "This was probably a very small minority in a sea of legitimate Democratic Party members,'' said Albany Police Chief John C. Nielsen. "It's probably going to send the wrong message about what was in fact an overwhelmingly peaceful, law-abiding and respectful group.'' President Bill Clinton attended the ceremony as state Democrats unanimously nominated Hillary Rodham Clinton as their U.S. Senate candidate. The five-member honor guard, which is made up of Albany police officers, told authorities that some people in the crowd of 11,500 Democratic supporters called them "Nazis'' and "members of (New York City Mayor Rudolph) Giuliani's 'Third Reich.' '' The harassment took place as the officers entered the arena around 5:45 p.m. in front of the Albany Police Department Pipes & Bags band. The honor guard were in full-dress uniform and carrying the American flag, said Detective Thomas McGraw, president of the Albany Police Officers Union. "We are very upset,'' McGraw said. "The honor guard were asked to act as ambassadors to the city of Albany. They were invited guests and they were volunteering their time.'' The incidents allegedly took place on the floor of the arena, where only delegates carrying passes were allowed access, officials said. Mayor Jerry Jennings blasted those responsible. "I'd love to identify these individuals,'' Jennings said. "It's unfortunate there are people who don't know how to act. It's behavior I find reprehensible.'' |

Last weekend we countered the Midguided Moron March here in L.A. We estimate we had 650 people. My guess (hopefully the others who were there can help) is that were at least 100 L.A. Police, Sherrifs, CHPs, all lined up on OUR side of the street right in front of our protest all day. (I think they felt safer with us than across the street with the bozos.)
We did not have ONE incident with "law enforcement" (you have to use that term loosely in L.A.) all day. No disrespect, no name calling when they moved a couple of protestors back onto the curb, (they were blocking the whole first lane for "safety,") lots of smiles and thumbs up.
The "non-violent" side? Well, one of their "protestors" got excited, started to charge across six lanes of traffic to get to some "action" but all he got was a "subduing" by officers before they arrested him and took him to jail.
If fat-ankles delegates are spitting on the police now, what in the he## will they do when she loses the election?
When the Second Ammendment Sisters had reached the US Capitol building, our side gave our escorts a "Thank You" chant. Also, I saw just ONE American flag in the crowd at the MMM in DC.

It is being reported that the story is worse than first written. The reporter (e-mail above) had written a tougher story with more details but the paper spiked it. This is the newspaper, The Albany Times Union, who had Timothy White as editorial page editor during the 90's. Timothy White was recently suspended from his new job at the San Francisco Chronicle for promising Willie Brown favorable editorials in return for help with their merger.
THE STORY which was spiked was that it was close to a hundred (that's right 100 ) hign ranking Democrats spitting on the honor guard . People are saying that their uniforms were SOAKING WET FROM SPIT.

Hillary jeered by NYC heroes Crime/Corruption Senator Hillary Clinton's inner circle is furious at MIRAMAX king Harvey Weinstein after the former first lady suffered through a public relations nightmare during Saturday's AMERICA: A TRIBUTE TO HEROES concert in New York City. Hillary Clinton was jeered and booed by thousands gathered at Madison Square Garden as she took to the stage -- unannounced -- to introduce a movie clip. VH1 cameras captured firemen and police heroes wildly booing Clinton, who attempted to raise her voice above the shouting crowd. "Get off the stage! We don't want you here!" yelled one New York City police officer just feet from the senator. Anti-Clinton slurs spread and intensified throughout the Garden, with many standing near the stage lobbing profanities. Event-planner and close Clinton friend Harvey Weinstein was visibly shaken as he heard the crowd erupt with boos and jeers, according to an eyewitness. The junior senator from New York ending up giving the shortest presentation of the evening, clocking in at under 20 seconds.
