God Bless The U.S.A. (midi)

If tomorrow all the things were gone

I'd worked for all my life

And I had to start again

With just my children and my wife

I'd thank my lucky stars

To be living here today

Cause the flag still stands for freedom

And they can't take that away

And I'm proud to be an American

Where at least I know I'm free

But I won't forget the men who died

Who gave that right to me

And I gladly stand up

Next to you

And defend her still today

Cause there ain't no doubt

I love this land

God Bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota

To the hills of Tennessee

Across the plains of Texas

From sea to shining sea

From Detroit down to Houston

And New York to L.A.

There's pride in every American heart

And it's time we stand and say

And I'm proud to be an American

Where at least I know I'm free

And I won't forget the men who died

Who gave that right to me

And I gladly stand up

Next to you

And defend her still today

Cause there ain't no doubt

I love this land

God Bless the U.S.A.

And I'm proud to be an American

Where at least I know I'm free

And I won't forget the men who died

Who gave that right to me

And I gladly stand up

Next to you

And defend her still today

Cause there ain't no doubt

I love this land

God Bless the U.S.A.

thank you for posting this . a very appropriate posting espesially on the memorial day weekend. Let us not forget the sacrifice all the men and women endured and died for so we can keep our country free. Let us not allow our freedoms be taken away for these men and women would have died for nothing. thank you again.

I never thought it was possible to sit in front of a screen and have chills all over my body, and tears streaming down my face. Thank you so much for this!! We may weep at the turn in the wrong direction of our country in recent years...but I believe in the HEART of our people..the BRAVERY of those who gave, so that I could be free. And I will gladly stand up NEXT TO YOU and pay tribute to those who fought and died...for those who served and came home to walk among us....to those who still walk with us...THANK YOU. I honor you today. WELCOME HOME FRIEND.

I am always overwhelmed by the patriotism I see here on this site. 15 years ago, I said to my husband that I saw very little patriotism these days, well that was well before FR came along. Thanks Mr. Robinsons.

As brought up on another thread yesterday to increase membership, why don't we have bumper stickers saying something like this "If you love Freedom and Liberty, go to www.FREEREPUBLIC.COM." I would pass them out to friends and family. Since the SAS March on Mother's Day, I have turned on 6 new people to FR, a few are buying a computer just to get this site. Freedom loving people are everywhere, we just have to show them how to find us.

Well, I have to tell you that I think michigander did an extraordinary job putting together this post. Why not use Lee Greenwood's song? It's a perfectly appropriate piece for this theme.

Another thing, do you have ANY IDEA how long michigander took in placing all the graphics and special fonts in their correct postitions? This was not designed in haste, I can assure you. This was a LABOR OF LOVE.

We need to thank him, not criticize him, on this most unselfish masterpiece. It's a fitting tribute to those who have given their lives to secure the freedom of this great nation.

What have you done for the USA or any vet today?

Thank you, so much for such an AWESOME display. Would that Greenwood's lyrics were still true for us today--but, unfortunately, we know better. We are no longer free, and though my sons would gladly stand up and defend this nation from the likes of the Clintonistas, we will not defend this nation's present policy of policing the entire world to "make it safe for democracy." We are NOT a democracy--we are a republic. Our modern terroristic warfare is making the world safe for the New World Order Dictators and NO ONE ELSE! God save America--Save our sons and daughters, and bring them HOME to defend US from the foreign armies that have taken over our American military camps!
