Some of our fellows have been avoiding discussion on the tough threads, lately, haven't they?
Made in China: The Role of U.S. Companies in Denying Human and Worker Rights
I finally understand how the toon survived in office.Blind loyalty to the party.I honestly believe we will rue the day that Red China received PNTR.
Bump!
Thanks for digging up these websites, Ironword. I've been sharing this info with people that I correspond with. After their initial reactions of shock and outrage they inevitably ask about the silence of the two parties and the media. My answer has been that the establishment in both parties have effectively silenced all opposition within their own ranks. It pains me to tell people that only the Democrats in the House mounted any meaningful opposition to PNTR. Sure, I can raise awareness of the few patriotic GOPers who did the right thing, and of course I proudly point to Jesse Helms in the Senate and his courageous statements that he will do everything he can to stop the madness. Inevitably, though the question returns to presidential politics and there the bankruptcy of the two parties could not be more clear. A vote for the GOP or the Dems will result in a continuation of money-driven, conscienceless politics as usual. And that's a damn shame.
"I honestly believe we will rue the day that Red China received PNTR."
They haven't received it yet, and there's still plenty of time to derail this legislation...don't lose hope, let the Senate know how you feel.

You're generally right about the House vote, but it needn't go the same way in the Senate. The key to derailing this frieght train of a vote is to appeal to the GOP's Cold War mentality, and demonstrate to them that a "YES" vote for PNTR for China under the present conditions is unfathomable and in direct conflict with our National Security. Why reward Bill "The Chi-Com Whore" Clinton and the blood-drenched, Tyrannous Chi-Com Leadership for their abysmal behavior by granting this plum status?! It don't make a lick of sense!!

I'm working on it, Mud. The House guys came through with a vote against. The Senate is going to be harder - I'm represented by Dodd & Lieberman in CT and Kennedy & Kerry here.
Let's hope individuals such as Helms and Inhofe, and efforts such as Senate Storm, bring some reason to the Senators on the issue of PNTR appeasement. It's dirty business.

Ouch...a motley crew indeed. But at least you can appeal to their Labor-luvin' side, as I don't see any real patriotic Americans in that group. And yes, that includes ex-Navy officer Kerry, who ought to know better.

Hear hear...the House vote got by us, so we must redouble our efforts in the Senate.

Patrick...about this, *PNTR* agreement?
I went to a local dept store in my community; having boycotted K-Mart, Wal-Mart et al...I needed a new electric shaver.
I noticed on the shelf, 8 different brands of shavers, and reading the backs of each brand's box, chose the one I thought said, "Made in the USA."
Once home, & upon closer inspection (with reading glasses), in the finest of print, there it was: : "Made in China to Remington specifications."
Somehow. I don't think this *PTNR* piece of paper's really needed?
Somehow. I think I'm beginning to see, understand what's fueled the, "economic tidal wave" the nation's *enjoyed* with the advent of The Bent1?
What's worse now?
I think our dear old countrymen & women have already become hopelessly addicted to that cheap, Chinese labor? Whether we realize it or not? Prison camp generated or not.
It's the nature of the beast; a pusher gives the user free (or substantially discounted) dope in the beginning?
The Pusher's profit comes later; following his *investment*?
Wanna keep from becoming addicted? Ya gotta curtail the habit when the stuff's cheap.
Point is; this PTNR* piece of paper surely is purely symbolic by now?
Keep speaking for those who are unable to, Ironwood (return of)! Save Elian! An escapee from Communist China speaks out
Thanks for the cheer and the link! Will have a look.
Thanks for your posts... Keep up the good work!
