D'Amato: Clinton Gave Order to Audit Women

Former Senator Al D'Amato says he believes Clinton rape accuser Juanita Broaddrick and several other Clinton sex accusers were audited because "they took on the Clinton administration." Worse still, says D'Amato, the president himself sicced the IRS on the women, using surrogates to do his dirty work.

The former head of the Senate Banking Committee made the explosive charges Wednesday night on Fox News Channel's "The Edge" with Paula Zahn.

ZAHN: On our last segment we talked about whether the IRS is guilty of going after people because they've been highly critical of the president. You have four of the presidential accusers, mostly the women, former Miss America and Paula Jones who now say they've been audited because they took on the Clinton administration.

D'AMATO: I believe it. Absolutely. I think the president's.....

ZAHN: But do you think it's a direction from the head of the IRS or do you think the president actually does pick up the telephone and says, go get them.

D'AMATO: The president speaks to his people who are in positions who talk to them. The president would never talk to the director of the IRS himself. He'd have somebody who is very close and who is responsible for that fellow being picked. And that man might not even go to him. He might go to the political operative over there in IRS. It goes back to Richard Nixon. C'mon, let's wake up. Let's not think that this hasn't happened. It has happened. It happened with Nixon. Would it happen now? It happened with (President) Johnson. You better believe it.

ZAHN: The GAO, when it came to conservative groups that have complained about this, said: Look, there is no evidence of intervention by the Clinton administration. You simply don't buy that?

D'AMATO: How are you going to find it? I mean, you think that you're going to be able to swear in some person who's going to say, "Yeah, somebody called me and told me..." Of course not. It's going to take place in a much more subtle way.

When it comes to Clinton administration stonewalling, D'Amato knows whereof he speaks. In two years of investigating the Whitewater scandal the ex-senator helped uncover Mrs. Clinton's long-lost Rose Law billing records.

Ultimately the Senate Whitewater Committee recommended that two senior administration officials and a Hillary Clinton confidante be investigated for possible perjured testimony about Vince Foster's death.

Also exposed by the D'Amato probe; the Hubbell-Lippo hush money connection, in testimony elicited by lead Whitewater counsel Michael Chertoff a full eight months before the press picked up the Chinagate scent.

Two years later, the Clintons took revenge on the New York Senator, when Hillary herself campaigned on behalf of his reelection opponent, Chuck Schumer. While the first lady publicly attacked her Whitewater nemesis as "Senator Tomato," Schumer complained that D'Amato had privately called him a "putzhead."

The press ignored Mrs. Clinton's anti-Italian slur and pounded D'Amato for the putzhead remark, resulting in Schumer's victory.

In the old days, in the case of wives who go out on their husbands ,the husband is known as a "cuckhold".

In the present case , which term can be applied to Hillary?

Actually all the women above were potential figure skating champs until someone like the gal from Seattle busted their kneecaps to void the competition.

No it didn't/ nixon THREATENED to use the IRS against his enemies, but did not go through with it. The second article of impeachment was that he was THREATENING TO USE THE IRS, not that he used them

Interesting. Since the IRS has now been established as an arm of the Clinton Organized Crime Family, this seems to make the best argument yet for its dismemberment, either by RICO action or congressional effort.

I suspect that a real Independent party candidate that promoted such a possibility as a part of their platform would go a long way with the voters.

As I have noted on another thread, the response to Clinton's use of the IRS to harrass his political enemies from conservatives is all wrong. We should learn from Clinton.

He has shown it is both possible and legitimate to use the IRS for political purposes if only the President picks an IRS chief who a) knows what needs to be done and b) is capable of keeping his or her's mouth shut. Thus, allow me to suggest that in the event of a Bush victory in Novmeber, G. Gordon Liddy would make an excellent IRS commissioner.

Lanny Davis, James Carville, Paul Begala, Gene Lyons, Joe Conason, et. al., CALL YOUR TAX LAWYERS.

"I wonder who is next to be audited?"

Oh, probably the Lazaro Gonzalez family and anyone else associated with trying to free Elian.

You really think the sheeple believe D'Amato? They will just chalk this up as a VRWC and go on. Maybe with this AND something like a GAO report would be helpful, but this alone is not gonna do it.
