"When Clinton ran for President in 1992, Whitewater started receiving attention. One candidate, Jerry Brown, brought up allegations in a Democratic primary debate. Jeff Gerth of the New York Times wrote a story. By the time Clinton had made it through the primaries, however, the media had decided that Whitewater was irrelevant; "it was about the issues." Besides, the news media was more interested in juicy allegations of marital infidelity, pot-smoking, and draft-dodging. After the election, however, a few conservative newspapers and magazines started following some of the loose ends. They discovered that Whitewater was part of a larger pattern of the way business, politics, police, the judiciary, and the news media in Arkansas operated in a way that was to "mutual benefit." Furthermore, evidence of a cover-up of Whitewater in Washington was revealed."
'Father, into your hands.....'
Completion of an 'era' and enough informational 'links' to fulfill requirements for a 'doctorate' in investigative journalism. And yet, 'insufficient evidence'. The 'law' does not work, when the 'lawless' govern.
Eight years and back, it seems, to 'square 1'. Older, wiser, and years closer to 'His' return.
There is 'mourning and the gnashing of teeth' were the 'seeds of truth' did not take root. But, as some have come to a knowledge of the truth; there is celebration in heaven. Bless you and, thank you, Jim(And the entire FreeRepublic family)
When will I apologize for 'Whitewater'? About the same time I apologize to OJ. The 'American' taxpayers lost hundreds of millions, if not billions, in the S&L debacle. The Clinton's had their 'fingers' in that pie, IMHO, and convicted or not, Madison Guaranty and Whitewater were 'shams' that such smart people as the Clintons should not have been involved with especially with the 'squeaky clean' campaigns and the ethics they lay claim to. {;~)
Nothing was 'blown' during the Whitewater investigation except what the White House wanted 'blown', IMHO.
More 'Whitewater' 'wafting'.
