Traditional American society is being systematically deconstructed. The question is, do traditional Americans have the grit to defend it?
The traditional family has been under fire for some decades by feminists and homosexual activists not to mention the government, which penalizes families with its tax code. Now it is being battered by the entertainment industry and public education. Yes, public education will undermine the religious faith of your children not to mention make it clear to children that they should not pay too much attention to their superstitious and out-of-date parents.
Families in the prime of their lives are forced to pay not only for their own children's education and health care but are also taxed to provide education and health care for the poor and health care for the elderly.
How do you suppose that, for example, Al Gore plans to finance his $240 billion prescription plan?
It will come directly out of the paychecks of young and middle-aged working men and women.
Now the attacks have been extended to the children. American children are bombarded with inducements to early and promiscuous sex by the entertainment and clothing industries and even some sex-education courses. They are bombarded with advertisements designed to make them mindless consumers of overpriced junk.
Now that the homosexual lobby feels that it won its battle, there apparently is a move afoot by some psychologists to sell the public on the idea that pedophilia -- sex with children -- is OK, too. In a pig's eye it is, but pseudo-scientific articles, which support that notion, are making the rounds. An article by Harris Mirkin that appeared in the Journal of Homosexuality is an example of this sickness.
Another component of traditional America -- its history -- is being rewritten to conform to current prejudices and myths that accompany the egalitarian philosophy. The Clinton administration recently has instructed the National Park Service that lectures and presentations at Civil War battle sites are to emphasize that the war was about slavery. Legitimate historians know that is not the truth. But history as propaganda is the order of the day.
If Americans wish to preserve a country they will recognize, then the first step is to recognize the enemy. Public education is the enemy. The entertainment industry is the enemy. The corporate culture is the enemy. The advertising industry is the enemy. And most of the politicians in both parties are the enemy. An enemy is defined as anybody, or any organization, which is attacking the traditional beliefs of Americans.
Withdraw your support. Take your kids out of public education. It's beyond reform. Let it collapse for want of public support. Get real tough on the kind of entertainment you allow into your home. Trash television and movies are not produced by inanimate forces. They are produced and distributed because particular human beings make particular decisions. These people are slimeballs, and it's time to call them what they are.
Charlton Heston stopped Time Warner from distributing a cop-killer compact disc by some trashy rapper by standing up at a Time Warner stockholders meeting and reading the obscene lyrics, thus exposing the shabby morals of the corporate leaders who were clearly willing to sell anything, no matter how vulgar or vicious, if there were a buck to be made.
Americans who want to preserve their traditions will have to emulate Heston's courage. And it did take courage. Silence in the presence of an attack is consent. So speak up. Take actions. As Stonewall Jackson said, "Fear God and no one else."
I'd like to add ... that the formula of Taxation Through Representation included the expression of the taxpayer's views on their tax burden, by virtue of their actually feeling said "tax bite." Meaning, that income tax withholding is not only un-Constitutional, but for that and the previous reason, such withholding should be banned, in order that the people should "have the pleasure" of writing out a check on four occasions through the year, and thus grasp with their white knuckles, their reality.
This most fundamental portion of both Constitutional Representation and a check upon government excess, once limited the perversion by the government, of the peoples' finances, for use against the peoples' Liberty.
If we were to pick something which would be a major lever in turning about the trend of the socialists to drag the government off into extra-Constitutional Space, end income tax withholding.
The lever we should plan to use to stop Democrats is the lever that people all over America are going to pull in just four short weeks. Surely we can repeat what the people of Serbia (Yugoslavia) managed.
We can take our country back and restore our Constitutional Republic. We can do it with ballots and we can do it this election. We will be posting a three part series beginning Monday that will outline a simple plan that can be easily executed. It will detail why, how, and how to keep our Constitutional Republic. This site provided the momentum that Impeached a President. Beginning Monday we are going to start building the momentum to take our country back and to restore our Constitution with the rule of law.

I note with satisfaction that as the Serbian people toss their dictator out of power the two buildings they took over were the puppet parliment and the government controlled TV network. The head of the network had to be saved by good samaratins from the anger of the crowds that had heard enough.
One can only dream of the same fate befalling our propaganda masters in the USA. Who's land is free now?

Our "leaders" are taking about 1/3 or more of our money from us every year - we know how to shut them down.
What do you have in mind? I love the end withholding idea, but seriously doubt it would make it out of committee.

The only countries in Europe that I plan to visit (and spend money in):
1. Denmark: for the success of the "Just Say Nej!" campaign to reject the adoption
of the Euro...and because a fair chunk of my ancestors were Danes.
2. England: Because they haven't totally bought Tony Blair's lies yet
3. Switzerland: Gun, democracy, and honest about loving both.
4. Serbia: to apologize for "Clinton's War"...and to tell them I wished they'd seen
the light earlier and gotten rid of Milosevich.
First Salute, where have you been all my life? I have been maintaining for years that the answer to all of life's problems is simply eliminating withholding. If people had to write a check to the government four times a year, like you suggest, there would be a tax revolt that would make that revolution in 1776 seem like a dust-up. People would riot in the streets demanding less government.
I have also added one additional rule to my plan to save the country. You have to show your tax return to vote. You don't have to owe any tax or pay any tax - you just have to prove that you file and go through the horror that is our tax system. fsf
I wish Reese were running on the Republican presidential ticket instead of shrub.
Thanks Holly. Reese almost always 'gets it right'.
As a career pilot/instructor I've always
'preached'/taught my flight students the exemplary
philosophy- "You may be involved in a crash someday-
just be sure you train for all known emergencies and
resolve to continue flying your A/C until the end of
whatever occurs". Over 45 year's of flying, some in
combat, I've had occasion to practise same and am
here writing about it.
We may lose this battle
but we'll be fighting to the end, so help us God.
I wish Reese were running on the Republican presidential ticket instead of shrub.
Some time back, Mr. Reese wrote a column identifying himself as a traditional Southern Democrat (and decrying how both parties have abandoned him).
They've abandoned me also.
You would be required to show your State's tax form, correct(?); not federal.
That's OK. You just have to prove that you understand the burden that is the IRS/state tax systems. fsf
"If we were to pick something which would be a major lever in turning about the trend of the socialists to drag the government off into extra-Constitutional Space, end income tax withholding."
You are so right. We've long wondered in our house about the naivete (read: stupidity) of people who are so pleased and childishly delighted and surprised, when they get an income tax refund--just as if it were a windfall lottery payoff, rather than money they were overcharged, which the government got to have the interest earnings on, and not those whose sweat (and complicity in going along with this clever scheme) earned it in the first place! Diabolically clever of those people who cooked up this way of fleecing us--cooking, to be sure, the frog one painless degree (and dollar) at a time, rather than plunging him into the hot water from which his reflexes would have him spring, instantly. Just watch Mr. and Mrs. Average Taxpayer cough up the moolah in one or two big chunks to finance our pork addicted politicians' greedy grabs for continuing power, and you would see a march on Washington that would exceed any demonstration the world has ever seen. And that is exactly why it will never happen. The politicians who might change it have a vested interest in its perpetuation, yea, verily, unto Eternity.
"Fear God and no one else."
Holly, DITTO!! Peace and love, George.
VOTE BUCHANAN / FOSTER - REFORM 2000 TO WIN!!! FREEDOM!!!!
Withholding was introduced in 1943, another one of those presumably "temporary wartime measures" that became permanent, as usual.
Most Americans didn't pay any federal income tax at all from 1914-38, until a series of "Revenue Acts" in 1938-39 sharply increased the tax burden across the board and continued to increase through the end of WWII. As the execrable and despicable FDR crony (and possible Soviet spy) Harry Hopkins once said at the time, "We will tax and tax and elect and elect."
That reminds me of the scene in Orwell's "1984" when the government announced the "chocolate ration" would be cut a few grams. Shortly afterward, after it was announced that "Oceania" defeated "Eastasia" in a war, the chocolate ration would be raised as a reward. The "proles" applauded, failing to remember that it was just simply raised back to the level it had been before.
Yup. The same war time price controls gave us employer provided health care. Sane people today who would never think of looking to their employer for car insurance think that if they are not employed they cannot have health insurance. Or if they do not have health insurance, they cannot have health care. It is baffling! fsf
In psychology circles, the response to the chocolate manipulations in that story would be that the prole's response was due to the "Hawthorne Effect." It refers to a situation long ago in which it was found that workers' productivity was related to a change in their environment, manipulated by the management. Light was increased in the workplace, productivity went up. Increased more, productivity rose again. Here was the surprise: when it was reduced, productivity again showed a bounce. Bottom line: the workers felt they were noticed, their welfare and wishes were of concern to their masters, and just about any change in their conditions reinforced that feeling, leading to improved performance. DO YOU THINK AWARENESS OF THIS PRINCIPLE MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT THE DEMONCRATS ARE ALWAYS JIMMYING WITH THINGS, AND CERTAINLY NOT IN A POSITIVE WAY, SO THAT OLD FOLKS, AND POOR FOLKS, AND SOCCER MOMS, AND TEACHERS, AND ETHNIC GROUPS--JUST ABOUT EVERYONE, THAT IS, WILL REACT WITH A POSITIVE RESPONSE AND VOTE FOR THEM?
Clearly, there are times when Grandpa's "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" exhortation should be operative. Yet, flying in the face of common sense, the Libs go to work with their screwdrivers, and pliers, (and SLEDGEHAMMERS!) -- and, instead of being appalled at the unwarranted tinkering, the masses of sheeple think it is wonderful how they care! Looks a lot like the Hawthorne Effect to me, pure and simple. (Now, if the Pubbies could just get the hang of this psychology and use it to our advantage, without screwing up the things that shouldn't be messed with--remember, taking away the light also provided a positive response from the workers, so you don't necessarily have to give more to someone, just changing the conditions in some way could do it--it was the perception of caring that made the difference! Hmmm. It now occurs to me that this is what Trent Lott and his cronies are doing to/with US, their base!)
