From the most conservative city in America, the city who gave the world Pete Rose, Johnny Bench (a new NRA spokesman! who uses the catchphrase "guns are safer than the family bathtub"), Marge Schott, Larry Flynt, and Jerry Commie Springer, we have this report on the Pro-W rally.
The rally through downtown Cincinnati started at 1pm. The streets were wet but the rain was sparse, and we marched them all. The march was attended by about 100-120 people, but you have to understand that rallys of any sort in Cincinnati go from rare to unheard-of.
There were at least 11 FReepers there. Earthangel, who lurks more that posts, said "this is my first protest ever, and I'm 60 years old!".
Other freepers will be joining us here I'm sure, since many of the rally attendees were not even aware of FR and were very interested in coming to the site.
We had a LOT of horns honking for us, and only a smattering few slinkers who were against our cause. When we got to Fountain Square, we were promptly driven out by an officer who was fair but firm that we had no permit to be there, and we had to keep marching the streets. Soooooo, we did.
All around, it was a great march, enjoy the photos.
Now THIS is wholesome family values!
.
A few officers were standing by when we stopped for a moment, they were interested in our cause, and impressed with how non-intimidating we were.
Here is the lead portion of the march.
Obviously not a child with a public school seared brain.
Another fine child who will work hard, and pay our Social Security at an 87% tax rate.
Media Monkey from local station Channel 19. Film at 11.
A Goron clymer who was supposed to be working the counter, but was expressing her wrong opinion instead.
Sorry about the poor quality. These bus queuers were solidly behind us, and yelling and clapping, even though they were 200 feet away.
Pro-W, and honking and waving as they went past us down the street!
The clymer in the middle watched us the whole way as we passed by. He was either to stupid to figure out who we were, or to cowardly to voice his opinion directly to us. He waited until we were well past him to start screaming. Another goron.
Another fine example of outstanding family values.
About half the crowd, for the few moments we were at Tyler-Davidson Fountain on Fountain Square. In about 3 minutes we are going to be getting a visit from Cincinnati's finest.
"Beans" with her GWB signed poster. She said she yelled "Soccermoms for Bush!!" at W and he came over and signed the poster. Nice going beans!
Here is the end of our rest period at Fountian Square. The officer was firm but fair, and seemed not at all interested in giving us trouble, but he was going to take any either....
It was a memorable day, full of fun, and we created a lot of interest. The cheers for us outnumbered the boos by about 12:1, although the gorons were not so bold when they aren't in huge numbers.
W T G !!!!!!!!!!!!
I could not help but notice all of the thugs at your rally.
The paid thug in the stroller looks extremely mean-spirited.
[smile]
BUMP!!!!
The Rupublican "thugs" were not paid well. I for one was doing this to save future taxes.
It was great to meet most of you!
Ohio looking good! Nice crowd, nice march - excellent work. My congrats to an assemblage of fine Americans exercising their First Ammendment rights - in your face, Joe LIEberman! Great work, Ohio!
Thanks! we had a great time doing our part for the cause of freedom!
Great effort. Great photos. Suggestion ... a large banner that shows up on TV that proclaims FREEREPUBLIC.COM. Might just let people know you're not hired by Bush. Might also bring a few more people here to help us out. Thanks for your support. You people are great. May God save the union/
HighWheeler, thanks for taking the pictures. We really look like a bunch of Rich Republican Rioters for Bush/Cheney, don't we.
Hey muggs! It was a load of fun wasn't it? I'm ready to go again!
Way to go, Cincinnati! Great pictures - I recognized the square, but that's about all after being away from Cincy for so long. I love the signs, the determination and the family values on display. Thanks for sharing your experience with the rest of us.
In DC we are a bit luckier than you. We did not have a permit to protest at the Vice President's Mansion, but the police have given us no problems when we gather to protest. The crowd today was 1,000 plus and it was a dreary, cold and rainy day. Just think what sunny skies would have done. FReep On!
Beautiful, beautiful Americans!
Some fun we had today.
Anytime you want to do it again, let me know.
Awesome Awesome Awesome!!
Outstanding! Thank you.
We had a great one in Tulsa here today also. The Spirit is moving us all. God's Speed
Nice work HighWheeler, just wondering, did that great American Bill Cunningham of 700 WLW show up at the rally. God Bless HighWheeler!, God Bless Cincinnati!, God Bless G.W., and God Bless America!
This is great. Thanks for the report. Loved the signs, especially with the child saying "I get into trouble if I cheat" BUMP BUMP BUMP
No Bill Cunningham, at least I didn't see him. That would have been fun.
Take a bow Cincinnati! Also congrats on some of the best photography I have seen around here.
Thanks Lion, I appreciate that. We had a great time. I was impressed by the fine people who attended. Not like the liberal anti-capitalist clymers who tore up Fountian Square last weekend.
Thanks FredMertz, I've seen your posts around here and really enjoy them, but nothing compares to your funnier-than-all-hell role you played on "I Love Lucy".
please attach to your "UPDATED LIST OF BUSH RALLIES ACROSS THE NATION THIS WEEKEND." threads. thanks
More Pictures!
High Wheeler - nice to meet you and other freepers today. Great pictures, great post.
The only thing I have to add is about the police officer that told us to leave the Square. He was fair and firm at first, but as we were leaving to stand on the sidewalk, he acted like a Buford Pusser wannabe. One Bush supporter asked him a question. The officer said "we can't have people walking around here on the Square chanting and waving signs on sticks. There are children here." He then proceeded to tell the protester that "I don't know who organized this, but they don't know their @$$ from a hole in the ground." Upon hearing this, I loudly commented "He must be a Gore voter," as I headed toward the sidewalk.
The cops at City Hall were much more polite.
I was also impressed with the number of younger, college-age supporters, as well as kids with their parents. It gives me hope for the future.
This is the procession to City Hall. I don't think this was planned - we just went after someone loudly suggested it. That's pretty much how the whole day was. Very spontaneous.
I loved this kid's sign. My 7 year-old also understands this concept. Why doesn't Al Gore?
Our arrival at City Hall.
More Bush supporters.
One of the nicer cops. I think he was our unofficial escort.
Timestax - aka "Mr. Muggs" had no shortage of signs.
Muggs - aka "Mrs. Timestax." The fellow next to her was one of the more vocal protesters.
Earth Angel with her well-made sign.
Here I am with the ubiquitous Sore/Loserman sign. The reverse side is the "GORE= TRAITOR, THIEF!" sign seen on High Wheeler's post.
I would call this freep a great success!
Can't wait 'til next time!

You're trying to make me buy more RAM, aren't you? If was worth the wait for these great pic's but one more on this thread and I think this computer would be about to blow captain.Terrific rally!
Congratulations Muggs! You just made Channel 9 news!!
Great job!!
Good job!
Thanks HighWheeler--it was a great day! Rain or no rain. It was a pleasure to meet all of the protestors that came out that dreary day--but we made it sunnier/brighter by telling Gore/Lieberman that they cannot continue to get by breaking all the Rule of Laws and trampling on all as though the laws don't apply to them. It was loads of fun. I can't think of a more pleasurable Saturday and what a stress reliever to be out there although the Congress people know my name by now. It is kind of overwhelming to get over 178 automatic email returns from them every night. I even get Christmas cards from some of them--after bombarding them nightly with all I can find to show what is going on behind the scenes. Rep David Hobson, after lots of my messages, he personally went down to Florida to witness for himself what was going on. I'm so glad that I went to Cincinnati today and was with you all. See you all again at another time--hopefully it will be at a Bush celebration.
Congratulations! Your incredible FReporting of your rally support of President Elect George W. Bush has been linked to the ...
Look at all of the signs--great spelling. It must mean that we can read and spell and punch holes in the ballots. he he he. We had lots of fun today. Nice to meet you.
Earth Angel, I'm so glad you made it. It was a pleasure talking with you today. Tell your husband I said "thanks". It was very nice of him to bring you to the rally.
Did you notice the policeman at City Hall--my husband observed--that he asked "who is your leader" as though he was prepared to arrest the person that was our leader. My husband said he wouldn't have taken it kindly if I had said that he was our leader. he he he Then he replied--you all just decided to meet without planning and to attend this protest in Cincinnati that day? I guess we gave them something to talk about for the rest of that day. I had the feeling that the majority of them were Clinton/Gore men.

Thank you so much for posting all the pictures!!!
I'm the Mt Adams guy, living in Sweden and wanted to see what was going on there!
I'd have been with you if I could!
Looks like you covered a good bit of downtown. Thank you very much for the photos and the great captions!!!
Best wishes to all of you!
As I just said above, thank you so much for the great shots. Looks like you made your point! By the way, what was the cop's beef down at Fountain Square? No permit?
Yeah, there was no permit, the cop said we would have to "keep walking" the streets.
There was another live music show scheduled on FS. When we showed up on FS un-announced, while the place was still being set up, the looks on the roadies faces was astonishment (they looked like gorons). I think they were wondering if they were actually setting up for a Bush/Cheney rally.
My group didn't make the pictures. We hung around Fifth and Vine in front of Tiffany's. A seventy year old friend that came with me couldn't keep up with the march. We made one trip to City Hall, but fell behind. By the way, it was his first demonstration and he loved it. I arrived at 1pm and saw a family with signs. I walked up to them and offered some copies of the "Sore Loseman". That's when the cop came over. I guess he thought since I was passing out signs, I was the organizer. Wanted to see my permit. At his suggestion, we went across the street and had no problem.
Fantastic. Great group of freedom loving people with high concerns. Beans let me kiss her signed Bush sign. Dianne did a very nice report. Muggs was a bright spark. Earth Angel, pocat, Itreel, Anochka, Swampfox98 and any others I may have missed, thanks for carrying enough to be there. And for those wonderful children, thank you especially for letting your parents come out. You're cool.
bttt!!
Excellent work. Nice pics. My favorite : "Rich Republican Rioters for Bush/Cheney." LOL.
I made that sign. If we have to do this again next week ( and I hope it won't be necessary) I will make more of those.
So you weren't bussed in like the rest of us huh? You were the ones who came in the stretch limo. Well, whoop-de-doo. < /sarcasm>
It was good talking to you muggs! I hope to see you at other rallys, like the Victory Strut Rally December 2(If Dubya gets certified).
We only have a few minutes for the commies to get their pregnant chads counted.
So you weren't bussed in like the rest of us huh? You were the ones who came in the stretch limo. Well, whoop-de-doo. < /sarcasm>
I'm almost ready to quit my job and retire with all the money I received rioting for the GOP yesterday. One more riot and I'll be set for life. :)
My husband is still telling the story about the people who were driving in their car, saw us marching for Bush - parked the car and joined us. That made his day. I think if we had continued marching around City Hall, like Joshau around Jerico, we'd have eventually collected over a thousand people.
There was a young man that marched with us. I asked him how he heard about the rally. He said he hadn't known anything about it. He saw us on the square, stopped to talk, decided to march with us and someone gave him an extra sign.

Way to go muggs, et. al. Was that you holding the Rich Republican sign?
No StarFan, it was one of the signs I made, but it wasn't me holding it. I don't know who she is. Thankfully, I managed to stay out of all the pictures.

I was protesting by myself on Tuesday,Nov.28, on Fountain Square, and was on T.V. Channel 5 main 6:00 News, holding my big Sore Loserman sign, with an addition to it that was a neat, computor printout that read=CONCEDE AGAIN. I recorded it on V.C.R., and estimated it at nearly six seconds, which is a lot of time for that time of the evening. It also had a neat computor print-out of freerepublic.com on the bottom. While on the Square,I got about ten people and groups of people that personally thanked me for being there, and telling me how good it was for me to be there protesting. I was there protesting from a little before noon (to catch the lunch crowd) untill about 2:30 p.m.
