The afternoon of protests started at Queen Sheila Jackson Lee's office in downtown Houston. About 40 freepers showed up here to voice complaints about the Lee Jackson's camera grabbing frenzy of pro-Gore press conferences all week long. This event had been announced on 950 KPRC and had been widely publicized to the media. Turnout was decent due to the KPRC ad, but evidently the media wouldn't dare report anything that could potentially make Queen Sheila look bad! So despite our presence as well as sending out SEVERAL press releases regarding the event to every station in Houston, the left wing press didn't bother to show up. That was okay though. We got some great pictures freeping Sheila's office/throneroom and got a good response from cars. Chances are also likely that the Sheila freep will make the pages of a local weekly newspaper in a coming edition. I talked to them earlier in the week and they want pictures to print. So post them if you got them!
Standing on the corner of Louisiana and Pierce street picked up the most cars there. Honks for W came pretty thoroughly as is normal. We even picked up some extremely enthusiastic support from a fire engine. After a march around the building, the media's protect-Sheila sycophancy became increasingly evident as they failed to show up. What else should we expect? These are the same gus that cover the Gore people's rallies every single time regardless of the location or lack of strength from the Gorons - last week Houston's liberal press corp even covered the Gorons picketting them. That's right, the Gore people were picketting the leftist media for NOT BEING LEFTIST ENOUGH! And the leftist media bought right into them giving them thorough coverage, or should I say giving coverage to the grand whopping total of 7 of them who showed up. Fortunately as has been earlier noted, we freeped them with numbers approaching 80.
After about an hour at Sheila's, we all concluded it would be best to head over to the Galleria where the heavy traffic is. This was in the original plans scheduled at 2:30, but we went over there at about 2 instead. The Galleria protest went great. Joining up with other freepers there increased our ranks to in excess of a hundred. We had done the Galleria location before (last weekend twice) but never with so much energy and enthusiasm. Protesters spread out on every single corner and median of the intersection. The main crowd led the cheers from the northeast corner while smaller groups prompted cars to honk for W from each of the medians' sidewalks. The small groups effectively worked up excitement in all the cars waiting at the light. As soon as the lights turned green, the cars came through the intersection with horns blasting!
Evidently, the word got around and the media finally decided to show up at the Galleria location, which was mentioned briefly in the notes I sent out to the press, two and a half hours late. Channel 13 came first. They began their coverage by flocking to the small groups on the median sidewalks and generally avoiding the mass gathered on the northeast corner. As expected, they were trying to show the protest as being just a few people on the median. They forgot, however, to account for all the horns and cheering. As the media began its doctored coverage of the median, protesters drifted over to their location and filled in, thoroughly packing the median. The best signs including a giant pacifier reading "GoreBer Baby" migrated there just in time for the coverage. Meanwhile, protesters enthusiastically turned up the heat with the Honk for W. signs. At red lights, a person carrying a honk sign would cross the crosswalk encouraging all the cars there to honk. Pretty soon, the media was flooded with sounds of horns, cheers, whistles, and shouting protesters. They had come to take a brief clip of a small number of protesters who were separated from the main group. When they got there, they found an all out ambush of noise and signs preventing them from doing this.
Channel 39 arrived after 13 and actually spent a good ammount of time there. They too went for the medians to get a smaller group, but found the same problems doing this that channel 13 did - namely the noise and enthusiasm of the protesters. Finding their plans foiled, they went on to plan B and actually gave us some good coverage. To "be fair about things," their cameraman went into the street to interview drivers who came by. TRANSLATION: They needed somebody to speak for Gore. This proved to be a problem as they went up to about a dozen cars, every one of them a Bush supporter. The first car they went to had a small child in it - they interviewed him and he said "I'm only 12 years old and I can figure out where the arrows point." So much for the geezer democrats who can stamp 30 bingo cards at once but can't read their ballots!
Eventially, they found some people who were friendly to Gore and got what they came for, but not after recording a dozen interviews with Bush supporters driving by and honking!
As the evening progressed, the intersection gained a new traffic cop as the old one's shift expired. He wasn't very friendly to Bush supporters and began using his capacity to annoy. In Houston, protests are perfectly legal when conducted on sidewalks. This officer arbitrarily decided that certain types of sidewalks and corners of sidewalks didn't count as sidewalks. He then threatened the protesters on the median sidewalks and corner sidewalks with arrest if they did not leave. Basically, he was looking for a way to confine us all to the northeast corner. I guess some arguments could be made about some of the medians, but this guy went beyond the most narrow medians. His definition included the two corners with right turn lanes onto westheimer. Even though these corners where by any and all accounts sidewalks, they were suddenly off limits. Even though there were indeed paved sidewalks in the median sections and easements, and even though every officer up until him for the last 2 weeks has had no problem with protesters using those sidewalks, the rules suddenly changed...
...or at least they changed for us. The media was perfectly legitimate in setting up its cameras in the middle of the grass on the medians. And initially, so were the "will work for pot" types and Commie Chronicle salesmen who camp out on the medians daily. They could stay there all they wanted and even frolick off the sidewalks into the supposedly restricted areas of the medians, just not us. This was pointed out to the cop, who eventually moved the chronicle guy and the welfare bums off the medians too, but the media got to stay there.
We quickly improvised a sollution and took advantage of using the crosswalks as pedestrians as had been done ealier to wave the "honk for w" signs at the cars stopped at red lights. When the crosswalk signs lit up, a small group of protesters simply changed corners with all the other pedestrians. The signs got seen and the cop couldn't stop people from simply using the crosswalks.
In the end, we had two great protests! One got us some great pictures in the heart of liberal democrat territory. The other was one of the noisiest freeps in Houston history. Car response was generally positive. I did have one yankee democrat roll down his window and use extensive profanity to me while he was at the light opposite of the northeast corner. I ignored him at first. Then he started saying "Seig Heil" to which I responded by telling him some not very nice things in German. I don't think he understood me, but he quickly silenced, rolled his window up, and moved on. All the while I was laughing. Other than that, we had a few of the usual democrats trying to figure out which one was their middle finger then attempting to use it, which was in itself a challenge. Not surprisingly, I didn't see any liberals show up to counterprotest. They certainly talked about doing it before Edwin called them off to avoid another embarrassment. I guess it was all hot air from them...that, and the fact that they didn't want to have anything to do with a bunch of mean spirited Republicans who singled out the poor innocent Sheila Jackson Lee to protest. Edwin Johnston, the president of the Goron group in Houston, seriously accused us of picking Sheila because she's a black female who is often the target of unfair public pressure and backlash! Talk about loonies!
Anyhow, I've written long enough. Feel free to add/correct/amend what you like and please post pictures if you got them! I'll send some of the good pictures to get
them published in the local weekly newspapers that I talked to.
Your Freep of Ms. Jackson was amazing - Dallas is taking some notes from you guys in Houston!
Hey, you guys rock. Eventually the media is going to have to start paying attention because....we basically underright the media. The more we scream and boycott...well... :-)
In Houston. All the people that run around in those little newsie Vans are a liberal as people get. Except for some that work for local hispanic TV.
Good, Good. Keep the pressure on!
Actually, i was hoping Sheila's office would've gone better. We got some great photos and a good response there, but the media's (intentional) absence was dissappointing but not unexpected. The Galleria truly was great. Sheila's office was excellent for personal satisfaction - especially for those of us who have her as a congresswoman.
Makes me wish I'd been there--and homesick.
Great report, GOP. What shall we do for an encore?
P.S. My "Gore"ber Baby pacifier is sitting in the back of my car. I'm thinking of Fed Exing it to Baby Al. Poor thing.
Send it to him as a concilation prize for losing the election. It should be enough to keep him quiet at his new job in an ultraliberal think tank dedicated to smearing Bush (you know, one of those ones that claims to be nonpartisan).
Hello fellow Freepers,
I was holding the "Honk for Bush" sign. After being told to leave the median, by a local sheriff, I started walking all four corners. While standing on the median across from the cops, waiting to cross the street, a string of military personnel in civilian cars, about 10, really blew the horns, gave the three finger "W", hookem horns sign, and thumbs up. They really made some noise. I wanted to salute and cry.
We have to get her out of office. She is embarrassing the State of Texas!!
Well I was actually thinking of attaching a note to it telling him to suck on it and then stick it where the sun don't shine. Do you think that would be too tacky? I do, after all, try to be a lady. teeheehee
Great post. Thanks for the report.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Clinton has awakened a terrible sleeping giant, and gore has filled him with a terrible resolve.
YOU FREEP ME OUT!
You never know with Gore. If you write something basically to that effect, but make it extremely long, codified, and statute-like (kinda like an OSHA codebook), he may actually do it.
I'm sorry I had to miss it, but am fighting off some bug so decided I'd better stick close to the aspirin bottle.
Looks like you guys did us proud today! It also looks like dear old LeeP Brown is getting tired of our little dust-ups in the Galleria and he's decided to make life miserable for us if we want to hang out there anymore.
GOP, you hit it on the head saying HPD doesn't mind all manner of vendors and beggers and bums standing on the median---- So what's the big deal??
I think I'll move to Tomball....;-)
C, I sure missed laughing with you today. And my heart was with you all! HOUSTON FREEPERS ROCK!!!
Thank you- I wish I could shake the hands of all you patriots.
and that is where most of the HPD Sargs live with their families~~~~~~~only a smile away
The media did'nt show up at the Dallas protest either, and neither did the democrats. LOL
Watch out, If this IDIOT gets the sequence wrong, who knows what he may try!
No pictures. However it was an excellent Rally at the Galleria. My son (12) decorated his scooter with HONK FOR BUSH and it was a priviledge to let Re-JOYCE hold my sign (below)
BUSH IS |
|
After Joyce left a new FREEPER arrived without a sign and gladly held mine.
One of the funnier moments was when a couple passed by in a truck (I think). The man driving was trying to gives us the "democrat salute" and his wife was hitting his hand!!
The DC Chapter salutes your efforts!
That pacifier was FANTASTIC!! Hope you have lots of pictures of you and it together. It's one for the memory bank!
We all missed you, Humidston! Get well soon so we can all get together at the next one. It's just not the same without you there. ;-)
LOL! How true!
You might want to check this out.
A Marylander's attempt at a big-ol' Texas BUMP!
Well I was actually thinking of attaching a note to it telling him to suck on it and then stick it where the sun don't shine.
But, not necessarily in that order.
Thanks! I wish I would have had more time and better weather in which to work on it, but hopefully people recognized what the heck it was.
Congradulations...sounds like a great rally day.
You did good, LADY! I can just see algore, curled up in a fetal position, whimpering, "but....but....but I WON! I stole this election fair and square". Tipper is sitting nearby in her rocking chair singing a lullaby...something about "...look for the Union label...". Joe LIEberman is shaking his head muttering "What a PUTZ!"
GREAT RALLY !!!
I'm sorry we had to leave early, but I didn't have a voice left and "don'tspeak4me" was having problems holding up her pacifier.
We enjoyed being with you guys again. It was GREAT!!

WAY TO GO, GUYS
Thanks for the summary.
I'm looking forward to pictures later :) My daughter enjoyed being there with me and loved having the WB39 camera in her face for several seconds!
Thanks to all who helped organize this event.
Does anyone in her district have a spare room for rent for a dollar a month , so I can open a bank account and have an address there that allows me to vote against her next time.... ?
IMHO it would be the best six bucks a person could spend. Whats residency rules for down there 6 month's ? a year ? If we have to go to such extreames to put the Socialist's out of office I'm all for it........

UNITED STATES CODE TITLE 36 CHAPTER 10, 176 (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
Great show, Freepers! I'm so proud of the whole Houston clan. It is hard in this city to fight such forces as the grandstanding SJ Lee, but you guys have real passion! I'll definitely make the next one.
Oh, great COB1...the only time I had my mouth shut during the rally and you just had to snap that picture that looks like I've got to go to the potty reeaaaal bad!
Thanks for your efforts, partner.
Let's do it again real soon....like tomorrow??
The order of the day for me next time is a coat and a bullhorn.
Fabulous FReep!!! Great report, GOP. Awesome pics, COB1.
whoever, thanks for the heads up. Check out the pictures.
Houston FReepers ROCK!
So much for the geezer democrats who can stamp 30 bingo cards at once but can't read their ballots!
I'll quickly interject that these type folks who can stamp 30 bingo cards - but then complain they couldn't vote - are lying, Democrat skeez-bags.
....and even though every officer up until him for the last 2 weeks has had no problem with protesters using those sidewalks, the rules suddenly changed... ...or at least they changed for us.
Why of course the rules changed....there are some Democrat, enabling cops in Houston.
(***GOPcapitalist, what happened to the five 8ftx4ft plastic signs I donated three weeks ago. I don't see them. If you all need more, I've got 8 or so more I can donate. Send me a freepmail....if need be.)
Right on, my brother. On with the revolution. Get into the faces of the left-wing media. Plan your next FReeping event for the parking lot of the most left-wing TV station in town.
BUMP
A bump for Houston Freepers!
Pleeeeeeeeeeeze get rid of Sheila Jackson Lee! She's an embarassment to the human race!
Sounds like you guys had a freeping good day! We've given up on the media here in Dallas, tho we did finally have one tv station show up.
Keep up the good work!
There was a lady from Florida who wanted the pictures e-mailed to her to show her group.
I forgot to get her e-mail address before I left.
Does anyone know of whom I am speaking??
If not, I could post her picture.
Thanks in advance.
I would be willing to pay for a one-way ticket to Mars for "Queen" Sheila. She's so stupid though, she'd probably ask, "Which port is my cruise ship departing from???"
Damn good idea, Squantos.
We could rent a lot of rooms for very little.
Besides, in some of those places we could probably sell the rats for experimentation and make our money back.
Ohhhhh....that was sooooo tacky!!!

WOO HOO! Great job guys!
Oh, this is clasic. What a great job y'all did.
I can't believe you pulled that off in San Francisco. That is awesome! Congrats on a fine rally. The media in Houston always drive me batty anyway...they are so incredibly biased. They go way out of the way to protect the likes of Sheila Jackson Lee. (She should be stripped of using that as her last name -- it is an insult to Marse Robert!). We didn't have any liberal yankees show up at our rally, in San Antonio, so it was a little more tranquil. Pics from the SA rally are here. --TGR

Just clicked on your profile. We will be looking for you and yours here in Texas in 6 months! ;-)
Thanks! We will be looking for a place out your way soon. Basil, Squantos, deport, and Bell Star already know I'll be moving out there soon.
Great to hear this news! I'm home sick with cold, but I was there in spirit! God bless all of you....
Excellent work. I sure hope your FReep of Queen Sheila gets some coverage; she is really awful.
In texas, it's basically only 30 days residence. Your registration must be in 1 month before the election, and absentee ballots must be requested at least a week before the election.
Way to go, guys! A minor family emergency kept me from the freep today, but if Gore still hasn't seen the light by next Saturday, I'll be there again.
Sounds like you had an unnecessary hassle with the policeman--he must have voted for the Sore Loser.
Another successful Houston rally!
PBS? I'm all for it!
I was at the freep today in Albuquerque and found similar behaviour typical of Gore supporters. The middle finger, obscenities, etc. The Gorons were far, far outnumbered by the Bush supporters that drive by Winrock Center. My big fear is that when Bush is finally declared the winner, the Gorons are going to be very, very violent.
To our childrens childrens children TLB 12/02/2000 When the time came to stand up for the rule of law, we the people were all too busy shopping and running around the Malls. Some of us did not care to get involved because it would interfear with that busy schedule. I mean the kids, the soccer games and football. The porno films and sex bars the internet chat sites and the drugs and drink not to mention it was just too cold out side to bother. Let someone else do it! Let someone else be the one to do it. Others said they were so sick of it all that they wished it would go away. That was the way it was that fall of 2000. Nov 7th was like most elections days in America as I had seen since the 50's. By the early morning hours of the 8th it all changed. By darkness the takeover had begun. I witnessed Bush as President for about 1 hour. I felt the pain of George W. Bush and Dick Chenny. Within days they new they were up against a real enemy. In our great land had grown a different kind of people a people focused on us the enemy in their minds. People who stand by the rule of law. In this new people was the attitiude Anything goes as long as it is for the cause ie:SOCIALISM. A foreign idea to most Americans. An idea that has failed anywhere it is tried. With regreat I write that we failed to stop the enemy. The people did nothing but shop Christmas. By spring most money was in the hands of the new America. By summer most were shipped to reeducation camps. By fall most had dissapeared. It all seemed so long ago that election night of 2000. When America came face to face with evil and turned to the God of greed and stuff to put under a tree that had no real meaning anymore. Nothing will ever be the same again. Most of all we failed our childrens, childrens, children. TLB 12/02/2000
She made sure none of the networks showed up at her office - they all came 2 and a half hours late when we were over at the galleria. But not to worry. I've got a couple local weekly papers who have asked for pictures. We'll get some coverage to be sure.
We REALLY have to do something about the media. The airways belong to the people---time for some liscenses to be denied.
You and Mrs. Dog Gone were surely missed today. Hope all's well.
TLB 12/02/2000 As I clannel surfed from cnn to msnbc and cbs for the President Bush Victory Sunday night I was again amused at their total Al Gore stance. Here it is George Won we heard the roar of cheers as Kathy read the annoucement and then saw the crowd cheer and remember it was peaceful for what 3 mins and then we had the Sen AL and JOE Show and then the talkin heads go at it with no more victory sceans or cutaways. Instaed endless bable and then after they found out Bush was going speak they just could not believe it that Bush had the nerve to come out? What are they just nuts in the head. What we need is a newsmax.com like tv station. I believe as a friend pointed out everyone is christmas shopping and don't care. I believe over 30% do care and will do something about this problem. TLB 12/02/2000
Thank you so much for posting about the rally. I was sick I couldn't make it. But the terrible thing was, I really was sick. When I came back from Houston yesterday I stopped at a resturant and ended up with food poisoning and have been totally worthless all day. I'm sorry I missed the rally, but I was able to watch the hearing today and I loved the way Sauls' court went today. Boise/gang looked like the key stone cops and was eaten up today by the Bush Team. That made me feel a little better. The two witnesses that Boise brought in were very strange, I was surprised Boise would be so blantant about his deceit. At one point Gore's team wanted to put into the record an affidavit fom a man working in Palsm Springs, it was bought out that in fact it was false and they had never even talked with the man. Gore's team was caught and they hardly even snickered, they just moved onto the next con job. Thank you guys for going out there today!
Thank you!
Naw, a high school wrestling tournament ended up in a trip to a doctor's office. Nothing serious. We'll be back on the front lines shortly.
The reason that the crowd was small at Sheila was due to the fact that Southwest Freeway was closed from 288 to 610. It took me 1 1/2 hour to get there (normally a 30 minute drive from Sugar Land).
Too cool.
FRegards from the DC Freepers.
I, too, am being held hostage in the 18th Congressional District of Texas. I just watched Channel 13's late news, and there was ZERO coverage (unless I just missed it) of the Freepers - but no surprise there.
We DO need all the possible votes we can muster against Queen Sheila in 2002; she coasted on Nov. 7 with 77% of the freakin' vote! She's got her constituents safely corralled on "the liberal plantation" - and they do not seem inclined to open their eyes or minds to the truth of how they are being used.
May God have mercy on us conservatives in Queen Sheila's prison camp!
Get well REAL soon, OK?
Hey, lil buddy. GREAT to see you here amongst friends!!!!!
Pooor Dr. Peachie, having to live in da Queen's distrik. But don't forget - I am also locked in Gene Green's distrik! Oh, deliver us both, Lord!
Come to think of it, wanna move to Tomball with us?? ;-)
Maybe we could start our own little FReep chapter and brainwash the entire town!
Houston Freepers
Gosh this was going to be my first Freeper rally and I would have to get sick
Looks like my family and I missed a great rally.
I salute all of you who were able to be there.
Count me in next time.
I've read the reports and you all made the rest of us very proud.
We shall overcome!
The statement that I think reflects things most accurately is that Clinton awakened the sleeping giant and Algore has
And remember... the Queen voted AGAINST a law that made it a crime to desecrate the American flag
How do I post ".jpg" picture on here. Also, how can I leave copies of ".mpg" files on here. Uncle needs your help!!!!!
Heck, yes! Brainwashing the whole town of Tomball couldn't take more than about 30 minutes, anyway!!
BTW, I think Queen Sheila has "Caller ID" now... they don't even answer the phone anymore when I call! (8-o
There was some coverage on the Channel 13 News...or at least I think there was.
I was watching intently, but it was so fast that what I saw might have been just a subliminal suggestion of a picture.
Good News - I don't have Debbie Stabusall anymore!!! Mike Rogers instead.
Bad News - Stabusall/Stabecow/Stabbingyounow is now the junior Senator of the people's republic of Michigan. Not that Spence was great. He wasn't. Stab though is worse than Levin and a real idiot.
Uncle, you have FReep mail.
Lil' Eddie said he missed you today. ;-) I took your designated spot in the median and there were carloads of wild women that pulled up and asked where that "Honk for Bush" dude was.
Dan, I wonder if Debbie Stab-you-all has met her new best friend and colleague, Hillary Rodham, yet? Wanna trade for Sheila?
No, I didn't think you would.
I'd trade Stab for Hutchinson or Gramm. You guys have better taste in senators.
We already have a better replacement for Stab in Rogers. I didn't like him at first, but I heard from people that personally know him and say he is a really good guy. Very pro 2nd amendment though. He really went to bat for us there recently.
I almost got into that mess on the way over to the galleria. They had it on the radio though so I quickly turned onto Alabama and took it most of the way up to the galleria area.
Unfortunately, I think some of our people at Sheila's got caught in it heading to the galleria. I know a few of them left the same time I did and didn't get there until 45 minutes after I did.
Anyhow, it was truly an exciting day of protests! Channel 13 ran a good shot of the group - a hundred of us piled up on that corner on westheimer. Though they could've shown more interviews, I don't think there was any question that we showed up with more than 7 people. Strange how the Gorons had only 7 last week yet got a huge segment on the news. Oh well, that's the media for you!
You find anybody doing that you let me know.....
Click here for pictures and link to RealVideo Freeper interview (that Channel 13 didn't air)
Note: For those with a modem connection, this may take a few minutes to load - but it will be worth it!!
I think the next one should focus on one or two main themes. In that I mean everybody comes with either a generic Bush or a Sore Loserman sign, or they bring a sign referring to a specific issue. Press statements would also focus on that issue.
For example, we could target ballot fraud and carry signs attacking Daley, referring to chads, etc.
Another idea is to target the dems "rent a mob" accusations - everybody carries a sign referring to us as the unruly intimidating GOP mob or denouncing democrat attacks on freedom to assemble.
I say this in light of the fact that these protests are becoming a weekly necessity, which is fine with me. By targetting these issues one at a time, we might prompt a little more media coverage and ensure that coverage continues. Instead of them reporting "The bush people were out protesting in support of bush today" as we've had for all the protests up until now, we could have something along the lines of "the bush people were out denouncing Democrat ballot fraud today." The media probably wouldn't make too much distinction, but it definitely would give a reason for them to cover us. Otherwise, the same story every day about the same protest won't get their attention much longer.
Then again, I can live without media coverage - it's icing on the cake. So if we do want to continue with the same we did today simply for getting the word out to traffic, that's fine too.
I did gather a few sign slogans together though. They're for themed protests:
BALLOT FRAUD: Al Gore: Convicted Chad Molester
Election Theft - a Daley Family Tradition
How do you detect ballot fraud? - Look for the union label!
Al Gore: Making sure every dead democrat's vote counts.
Military Votes - MIA
Support Labor Unions - stuff a ballot can!
Hey Al, ballot fraud's illegal!
Al Gore: Count until he wins
HE WHO COUNTS THE VOTES DECIDES EVERYTHING! -JOSEPH STALIN.
Al Gore INVENTED Fraudulent Votes in Florida
Proud Member: International Brotherhood of Democrat Ballot Manufacturers, Local 182
AFL-CIO = Algore Fraud Legion-Chad Irritation Organization
You're in Green's district? Sorry to hear that! Sheila's horrible as a rep for me, but she's stupid as a fencepost. That means she can't campaign worth a darn. Her entire strategy is to find a camera and start spewing liberal nonesense. She only wins because her district is so liberal.
Green's a Democrat good-ole-boy but he campaigns tough. He's in bed with all the labor union thugs. Naturally, he isone of the dirtiest campaigners in the state - probably 2nd only to Debra Danburg in how low he'll go to win. And Danburg's and exception because she's a paranoid nutcase (she runs her campaign by hiring private investigators to follow her opponents around. Meanwhile she pays democrat hacks to dream up conspiracy theories about people who are "out to get her" - and I'm not kidding in the least. Check out her campaign finance reports).
Green's got paid union thugs to put out his signs and steal all the republican ones - I've seen him do it just this last election cycle. When the signs are too big, they run them down with trucks or deface them with obscenities. Aside from that, he uses the thugs to intimidate and bully voters around. The last Republican that ran against him was Vietnamese. Asian voters in District 29 reported getting intimidating phone calls from union thugs telling them to "Go back to Vietnam" and "Go back to China" the week before election day! I know one that played the message for me on his answering machine. And the dems accuse us of racial intimidation?!
I am truly sorry you have to put up with that kind of garbage as a congressman. I can handle sheila because she's fun to annoy and constantly makes a fool out of herself. But Green is pure corrupt democrat union thug garbage. He won his seat with illegal votes in 1992 and he's held it ever since with the same type of garbage that is giving Al Gore votes in Florida.
Houston FReepres. Making us proud! Way to GO!!
FReepres? Yes, that's the French pronunciation. GO HOUSTON FREEPERS!
Thanks for the report, Cap. A great rally today! Keep it up!
..........
Not surprisingly, I didn't see any liberals show up to counterprotest. They certainly talked about doing it
before Edwin called them off to avoid another embarrassment. I guess it was all hot air from them...that, and the fact that they

she's a black female who is often the target of unfair public pressure and backlash! Talk about loonies!
Actually, Edwin drove by the corner at 12:45 pm (I was there at 12:30 by myself until a bunch of enthused citizens numbering
about 6 or so showed at 12:50 wanting to protest with me so I wouldn't feel lonly I suppose) to scope out the situation I'd suspect and as he turned from Post Oak onto Westheimer eastbound he very visually
showed me his one-digit IQ sign. He most certainly wanted me to see him as he also honked his horn. Dead ringer for the
profile picture of him on his own web site. I laughed my arse off pointing at him as he went by. What a hoot.
The crowd started growing by 1:00 to 1:15 and by 1:30 there were at least 40-60 kindly and very enthusiastic demonstrators joining
me there. I for one had a great time. I also appreciate all the photos of the group and of myself with the large sign I had with the
ad for FreeRepublic at the bottom. You can see several pics of my sign on the other threads. Seems they got overlooked here or left out on
this one for some other reason. Thanks everyone for the good time and all the compliments I got on my sign. They all were great
IMHO and Right on target. Good work everyone.
I'll leave you with one photo of many taken of us and one of myself and my sign taken by TexRef (at least I followed the link provided by TexRef). Thanks.
Ooooops, I made an error on my other post just above. I have three different FreeRepublic windows open on my desktop and I in error posted it on this one
instead of another one. There is indeed a photo of myself here. I apologize for the error in my post above since it ended up on
this thread instead of the other one I intended to post it on. Oh well......
TexRef - Absolutely great shots that you took to capture the fantastic job all Houston FReepers did yesterday!
FReegards,
The pacifier lady
Ron, you are indeed a man of courage to stand out there on that little median in the direct line of enemy fire.
Kudos to you; thanks for being there.
That's a very good idea about focusing our attack.
I agree that the media attention is icing on the cake, but it would give us all a singular voice on a particular issue.
Thanks for putting it together.
I'm glad you came over to the wrong corner and informed us where the rally was supposed to be held.
We were fast becoming the Five Frozen FReepers.
Too right, mate! My favorite Queen Sheila story is the one where she asked (following the NASA Mars mission) why we didn't have any pictures of the astronauts walking on Mars and NASA (I believe) is in her district!

Absolutely - liberals are not very good drivers - especially when they are giving their trademark salute!
Here is a test, I'm still learning. http://home.swbell.net/rpwilson/images/Goreberbaby2.jpg
OK, how do I get the picture to post instead of the URL?
You have FReep mail.
Uncle - This might be helpful.

Maybe this time. Test2
Yea!!!!!!!!
It looked like you all (or should I say "y'all"?) had a great rally! Thanks for the detailed report and the terrific pictures. It's really heartwarming to see that not all people in Houston support "Queen Sheila" and are willing to take the time and effort to let it be known. There are mny of us who appreciate your work!
gon (Pgh, PA)
HOORAY for Uncle Sam!!!
You got it!!
You can go to my Website below to get some help with that sound file.
VICTORY PAGE
There are several different kinds of sound files, but if you follow the links, you should find what you need.
Great job, Uncle! Freepers are known for their tenacity!
If I didn't hug your neck yesterday, consider yourself as having just been cyber-hugged.

I got to go help the wife with a late Thanksgiving. Thank you guys, and I'll put some more on later. Oh yea, on the "sound Files". They are really ".mpg" movie files, will it be the same as you said in the web site? Talk to you guys later. Thanks so much.
Thanks, I really do appreciate that. At least I didn't get spit on this time. Got a bit of verbal abuse but that was far outnumbered (at least 35 to 1 maybe) by signs of support from real Americans.
Accckkk... I am sorry I missed it. Sounds like you guys did everyone SO proud!
This is the last time I work when I want to be Freeping!!! (We Hope)
But a side note that I think you guys will like. My office now comes to me to get the latest information, which of course I get directly from... ta da FREE REPUBLIC!!!
I tell everyone about you guys and how proud I am to be associated with you. Keep up the terrific work, and I look forward to seeing you guys as soon as possible.
I'll rent you a room for a dollar a month!
What a great report, thank you!
To "be fair about things," their cameraman went into the street to interview drivers who came by. TRANSLATION: They needed somebody to speak for Gore. This proved to be a problem as they went up to about a dozen cars, every one of them a Bush supporter. The first car they went to had a small child in it - they interviewed him and he said "I'm only 12 years old and I can figure out where the arrows point."
HAH! About the Gore/media: it is becoming painfully obvious that there is no answer to the daily question, "How low will they go?!?"
We have a new song for anti Gore protests. It is sung to the tune of Bob Dylans song "Blowin in the Wind". How many targeted recounts must gore have, before he thinks he can win? And how many military votes must Gore have to steal, before he can take the lead? How many court cases will Gore have to lose, before he gives up and concedes? The answer my friend, is Gore will never win. The answer is GHore will never win.
"At least I didn't get spit on this time."
My friend, when I hear a Viet Nam vet say that I hang my head in shame that we let that happen.
We had no communication with each other in those day - which is a piss-poor excuse, but that's all I've got.
I am truly, truly sorry.
You are not alone! Thousands have taken to the streets in support of President-Elect George W. Bush. Your FReport has been added to a list with hundreds of others on the...
Read some of these FReports for inspiration, tips, slogans, signs, etc. and then get out there and make your voices heard!
Now is not the time to celebrate in our success. There is still much to do and we must be organized and steadfast in our efforts. If anything, we need to redouble our efforts. The chief thief must be stopped. He must be soundly abraded and told, in no uncertain terms, that it is time for them to go!
At the same time, there is no reason we shouldn't celebrate the election of George W. Bush as our next President. Celebrate it in the streets! Be loud, unbowed, and stand proud!
Eagles up, FReepers! We are making, and we will make a difference!
For information on rallies that you can attend, please visit cyn & LarryLied's thread below - literally hundreds of rallies are planned over the next few days - pick one and be there!
Most of these were Sat/Sun rallies that have probably already happened, but you'll be able to find the updated threads once cyn and LarryLied recover from the weekend! ;-)
See this just might work..... LOL ! When is she / It up for election again ??
My friend, when I hear a Viet Nam vet say that I hang my head in shame that we let that happen.
.............
Well, if it is of any consolation these poor misguided slobs didn't know that I'm a VN vet who was willing to put my life on the
line (and did often) so that they could have the privilege of spitting on me while exercising my most basic Right but that probably
still wouldn't have stopped them. It hasn't before. But I will say that this is minor compared to what it was like for many years
after I left the service in late '71. For many years I wouldn't talk about my serving in that war as I was treated as a leper or
something worse and to be shunned when it was learned that I fought in that unpopular war. Many VN vets know the feeling all
too well. Thanks for noticing and commenting my Freeper friend.
What do you say we try for a parade permit this weekend? I'm headed for Calif. for the week, but I've done it before and it wasn't too hard. Basically you need a permit, and some proof of internal security (Big people in similar apparel will usually work). At least that is the way we did it twenty years ago. A bus would help too so that we could walk from where we leave our cars to another site (picking up more and more people as we go) and then when we get there, we use the bus to take us back. I'll throw in $100 to get it started, but I'm on a plane early tomorrow.
Thanks! Wasn't it a great rally? See ya at the next one.
yep. i have that affect on women. ;)
seems like i missed a good one! i'm really proud of all the houstonians that are taking a stand against the socialist tyranny polluting the minds of all americans. the socialist media/emotion whores must know we will take it no longer and that we will not waiver until we are free from their rhetoric and control.
perhaps this weekend we'll do another? what's the enemy doing this week?
freepmail in your box.
And Edwin has the nerve to accuse us of spying on his groups activities?
Pass that one along to JasonJonas. At our next freep of them, we can be sure to mention Edwin's politeness and respect for people of different opinions to the lady with the "Denounce right wing mean spiritedness" sign.
RE: Your post # 83 -- I couldn't agree more!!!!
Looks to me like a few of us need to have us a little get-together and map out some killer strategy!
You new people to FreeRepublic sure are making a big contribution. My granddaughter and I saw you and you Goreber Baby Pacifier and granddaughter said the new Freepers are kicking old Freeper backsides. Now that's a challenge to the rest of us. She was with me for the Sat Freep and loved your GBP. She had her sign that said Honk 4 Bush. Her mom told me she was out in her dads workshop lastnight working on something up until bedtime for next weekend in Texas City. Thanks for lighting a fire in the Grass Roots .
You are certainly welcome. I appreciate your comments.
I keep saying that some of the nicest people that you could ever meet attend the rallies. (on our side, that is)
An outsider's perspective:
I protested against both Bush and Gore at the Houston "pro Bush" rally on Saturday. You know--they have them every week now, in every city in the country.
Well, I got on the local news with my sign, which said, "Bush & Gore are both corporate socialists" (channel 39 Houston, the WB station). They showed my sign twice, once in the group, big enough and long enough to read on tv, and once in closeup. The closeup shot was too fast to read.
This rally was an interesting scene, not dissimilar to good gatherings that I have been to in Houston within the past few months. There were a lot of signs describing Gore as a baby, and one woman held up a three-foot pacifier with Gore's name on it. There were also a lot of "Sore Loserman" signs and signs that said "Honk for Bush." As a result there was non-stop and widespread honking going on at that intersection.
But I was not a sympathizer. I was not there to make friends, not this time. I was there to represent. I was even wearing my "Buchanan or Bullshit!" button. Because if Bush and Gore are still campaigning, then so can Buchanan.
I berated several pro Bush people. One group was chanting, "No more Gore!", and I said, "No more Bush OR Gore." They were put off. I said, "You should have voted for Buchanan." One woman said, "Yeah, right." And I said, "Yeah! Right!"
The news lady and cameraman, while filming the crowd I was in, seemed surprised by my sign. When they walked by me, the Asian lady reporter looked at me funny--but not, as far as I could detect, with hostility.
I talked to one guy who said he liked everything Buchanan said, but "people aren't mad enough yet." I said, "By the time people get mad, it will be too late."
One lady asked me to take a picture of their group. I was about to consider, then I said, "No. I'm not for Bush." I told one lady that Bush was a socialist. She said, "Not as bad as Gore," to which I said, "There's not enough difference."
The Bush people were on two corners of the intersection, with one Bush guy at a third corner. I decided to take the empty corner of the intersection, so that I could distinguish my message from the rest. One SUV or minivan of college-aged people drove by, and a girl hung out the window, eagerly shouting approval, smiling, and giving me the thumbs up. I know that reaction, one of joyful recognition, and I knew that she understood my message exactly. I waved back and gave her the thumbs up. I saw other people driving by in the lane nearest me, smiling after seeing my sign.
There was a disgusting incident, however. After the rally was over, as I was walking back to my car, I heard some young kids yelling at a small group of pro Bush people getting into their truck. Yelling something for Gore or against Bush, but they were very rude. At first I thought it was cute. Never before have children gotten involved in a political campaign, as they have in this one, I thought. But later I changed my mind.
Then I see an SUV drive by me, then circle back. The driver is trying to talk to me. This is a family of four, with the two kids I had heard earlier. The kids are between 6 and 8, I guess. The guy was kind of smiling. I thought maybe he wanted to see my sign, and I showed it to him. He was pointing down, and saying something I couldn't understand. Then I hear him say, "dropped a toy, my kids dropped a toy" and I see a toy on the ground, which was in 3 pieces. I was a bit confused for a moment. Never did I hear a "please" or an "excuse me." Then I got angry, remembering their kids' behavior from a minute before. I said, "Wait--who are you for?" He said, "I'm for Gore, I'll get my own damn toy," and I said, "Nope!" and I turned and left. As I left, the kids screamed, "Bush is stupid! He don't know nothing!"
Oh, boy. This is exactly what I think of white people who vote for Gore--trash minds with trash families, in rich people's clothing. I ask, who allows their kids to yell insults at adults? Someone who has no respect for the natural order of things, that's who. I don't think I even wanted this confirmation. Oh so very disgusting.
But I got on the tv! And I have to ask, why? Why do news people want to show my point of view at this point in time? Was Channel 39 engaging in some perverse pleasure as they saw it--namely, showing someone who is anti-Bush at a Bush rally? Or was there something genuine in their motive?
This Bush/Gore split doesn't mean Shinola. It's the Bush/Buchanan split that means something.
