We soon joined our fellows, and I got to meet GOPCapitalist and an adorable little lady with a sign in tagalog, the primary language of the Phillipenes. Three cheers for multi-lingual Gore bashing! I was also pleased to purchase a Sore Loserman bumper sticker. This added to my collection, which also includes a T-shirt purchased earlier in the day up in the Woodlands. The salesman had never heard of FreeRepublic, so was obviously latching onto a trend. This just tells you how far and wide Registered's work has gone. Capitalism at its best.
Once again, after we attracted the attention of passersby, including a local fire company, we headed for more travelled pastures, namely the Galleria. This was the largest Galleria rally to date. I personally counted one hundred and six people on location at one time. If any of these people were pregnant, they did not make the count becuase I refuse to assume the unborn's politics, though I'm going to guess they'd be ardently pro-life. Just a guess.
Included in this crowd was Joyce "Rejoyce" Smith (I hope I got her last name right, let me know ASAP if I did not) from AM950 radio fame. She is a frequent caller to John Mathew's radio show, and always acts as a refreshing voice from the Black community to counter the likes of Jesse Jackson. Thanks for coming, Joyce, and thanks for all the other people who heard about it on John Mathews' and Mike Richards' shows on Friday.
This rally had excellent news coverage, as both Channel 13 (ABC) and Channel 39 (WB) came out to see us. They took footage of us up close on our main corner, as well as from the medians to get wide angle shots of all of us. I take some credit for getting everyone to head toward the camera side during this time, so I truly hope we got some good shots of us on TV. If you saw the coverage, please e-mail me and let me know how the media treated us. Channel 39 spent quite a while out there interviewing us and the motorists.
We did face one problem this day, as a sheriff's deputy working traffic across the street decided to roust us from the medians. Trouble is, to do so meant rousting the Houston Chronicle salesmen from his spot. Chronicle salesmen are ubiquitous in Houston, and you'll find them on every busy street median hawking that leftist rag. That they do so all the time should be an indication that rather than enforcing a law, the deputy was trying to quash the exercise of free speech. I intend on placing some calls to get a ruling on this, so I'll expect to see no more paper guys on the medians, or else you'll see plenty more of us there next time.

We got about 1 X 10 to the -4 seconds from Channel 13 News.
They sure wasted a lot of film on the cutting room floor.
Great job again, LTS!

Might she be a family member?
Nice photos. Keep it up!
Hey, if you show this post to REJOICE - say HI for us. We had lunch with her in Washington, D.C. in 1998 at the "March for Justice."
We were the couple from Oregon - almost won the prize for coming the farthest to the MARCH. She was marvelous!!

GREAT PICS !!
Someday I'll take some photography lessons from you.
I wish I had taken a pic of you taking a pic, it was just too hectic to think about that !!
This was truly a BLAST !!
Thanks to everyone who made it possible.
Great job! :o)
I wish I had taken a pic of you taking a pic
Actually, I'm in the picture above of Channel 13 doing the interview. I'm on the left, holding a sign and filming with my own video camera (kinda hard to tell, but I am).
Incidentally, to see the interview (which they didn't air), click the link below. It's pretty cool because you can hear all the horns and yells of support that we were getting!

I hope the guy in this interview sees your post. I hope his wife sees it, as well. She should be so proud of his eloquence. He stood in our group for the majority of the time he was there. He told me that he had told his wife that he was only going to be gone for about an hour. He was there for much longer than that.
Typical of our rallies...they grab hold of you and you don't want to let go. The energy lasts for days. The memories will last a lifetime.
You are not alone! Thousands have taken to the streets in support of President-Elect George W. Bush. Your FReport has been added to a list with hundreds of others on the...
Read some of these FReports for inspiration, tips, slogans, signs, etc. and then get out there and make your voices heard!
Now is not the time to celebrate in our success. There is still much to do and we must be organized and steadfast in our efforts. If anything, we need to redouble our efforts. The chief thief must be stopped. He must be soundly abraded and told, in no uncertain terms, that it is time for them to go!
At the same time, there is no reason we shouldn't celebrate the election of George W. Bush as our next President. Celebrate it in the streets! Be loud, unbowed, and stand proud!
Eagles up, FReepers! We are making, and we will make a difference!
For information on rallies that you can attend, please visit cyn & LarryLied's thread below - literally hundreds of rallies are planned over the next few days - pick one and be there!
Most of these were Sat/Sun rallies that have probably already happened, but you'll be able to find the updated threads once cyn and LarryLied recover from the weekend! ;-)
Great freep! Wish I could have been there this time.
Thanks for all your hard work on this and the great picture of my granddaughter with her Honk 4 Bush Sign. We are going into the Democrat. Lions den next weekend in the irretrievably corrupt Democratic Party machine and Labor Union run , Texas City and South Galveston County for a rally. Hope we Cya. Hope Harris County, Fort Bend County and Brazoria County support us.
I believe I see your face in a picture , also :-) Way to go Houston FReepers !
Blond, sunglasses? That would be me.
