Thank you President Reagan.  We won one for the Gipper.

And thank you for working so hard and taking so much heat for putting true Justices on our United States Supreme Court.

Imagine if Carter had won. Or Mondale.

Or, of course, Gore. This is really what these elections are all about. Nothing is more lasting and can be more distructive to our society and the constitution than a Supreme Court Justice. In Washington DC, we saw the good. In Florida, we saw the bad.

I sure hope so. My fear is that W uses his Dad or brother Jeb as an example. His Dad's very first pick was the empty Souter and Jeb let one one of those liberal dem's slip past him, rather than be devisive and pick his own choice.

I can thank God that I had the opportunity shake the hand of then Governor and Presidential Candidate Ronald Reagan in 1980. What a presence! And what a great Commander-in-Chief to serve under.

We can only hope and pray that George W. Bush will be half the President that the Gipper was! That would be a wonderful change from the last depressing eight years.

From Ronaldus Magnus' 1st Inaugural Address:

So, as we begin, let us take inventory. We are a nation that has a government—not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the Earth. Our Government has no power except that granted it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed.

and from the 2nd Inaugural Address:

That system has never failed us, but, for a time, we failed the system. We asked things of government that government was not equipped to give. We yielded authority to the National Government that properly belonged to States or to local governments or to the people themselves. We allowed taxes and inflation to rob us of our earnings and savings and watched the great industrial machine that had made us the most productive people on Earth slow down and the number of unemployed increase.

GOD BLESS RONALD REAGAN!

Forgot the most important quotes!

(from Second Inaugural Address)

My fellow citizens, our Nation is poised for greatness. We must do what we know is right and do it with all our might. Let history say of us, "These were golden years--when the American Revolution was reborn, when freedom gained new life, when America reached for her best."

Our two-party system has served us well over the years, but never better than in those times of great challenge when we came together not as Democrats or Republicans, but as Americans united in a common cause.

Two of our Founding Fathers, a Boston lawyer named Adams and a Virginia planter named Jefferson, members of that remarkable group who met in Independence Hall and dared to think they could start the world over again, left us an important lesson. They had become political rivals in the Presidential election of 1800. Then years later, when both were retired, and age had softened their anger, they began to speak to each other again through letters. A bond was reestablished between those two who had helped create this government of ours.

Good suggestions. But I want young, healthy conservatives. Baker is too old and, well, God bless Sandra Day O'Conner, but I've never seen a woman in politics that you could really really count on. Until Kathleen Harris, of course.

You can continue to keep his ideas alive by supporting the Reagan Ranch, and the Young America's Foundation. The DemonRats almost purchased the ranch with the purpose of smearing Reagan's legacy, but the Young America's Foundation raised enough money to purchase it. I believe it is used for educating young people in conservative values and preserving Reagan's legacy.

Tower was the 1st Republican elected in a State Wide election in Texas since reconstruction.

Tower was elected to fill LBJ's senate position when LBJ was elcted vice-president with Kennedy

I completely agree, this has me frightened. His Dad tried to appease the liberal media by raising taxes, then they mugged him. He tried to appease blacks by signing the Civil Rights Act of 1990, he got no black votes for it but alienated conservatives. He tried to appease liberals by signing the Disability Act, it generated massive litigation and cost for buisness helping to cause the brief recession(other causes see above).

Pavlof's dog was a quicker study than these Bushes, Bush will break my heart if starts naming Democrats and liberal Republicans to his cabinet. Please W. just give me Frank Keating as Attorney General!

Thanks for the beautiful picture of my hero, Ronald Reagan. During my husband's position as Chief of Staff, AF Academy, Colorado Springs, President Reagan spoke at the graduation, 1984. I was on the stand with him as he shook hands with each graduate--a thousand in all. I told him he was handsomer in person than on tv. He let me kiss his cheek and he kissed mine. His skin was glowing, translucent. It seems like a dream to me now. He taught us the effect that one person can have in an evil world. What a pleasant, strong man. God Bless Him, truly.

What a gorgeous, simply gorgeous pic of our hero, Ronald Reagan. The pic really captures his personality and goodness. I actually got to meet him in 1984. How horrible to think that AlBore tried to look like him in the debates. Ugh! Yuck! He isn't worthy to carry Reagan's shoes. I wish one of Reagan's shoes could kick the jerk out of the country. God, how I despise that phony, shallow, greedy excuse for a human--Owlie Bore. He's acting crazier by the minute. It is my true belief that God kept the democrats from stealing enough votes to win the election. So, I thank God also for saving us!

I just love President and Mrs. Reagan so very much! And I am deeply grateful for their on-going ministry to all of us!

Not bad for an "amiable dunce", eh?

The utter contempt the left had for Reagan is already being exceeded with their attempts to 'dunce' GWB. We'll have to be on guard for this over the next few years.

What a gorgeous, simply gorgeous pic of our hero, Ronald Reagan. The pic really captures his personality and goodness.

He simply glows in front of the camera, doesn't he? You can almost feel his positive influence.

From Ronald Reagan's last speech to the nation:

And how stands the city on this winter night? More prosperous, more secure, and happier than it was eight years ago. But more than that; after two hundred years, two centuries, she still stands strong and true on the granite ridge, and her glow has held steady no matter what storm. And she's still a beacon, still a magnet for all who must have freedom, for all the pilgrims from all the lost places who are hurtling through the darkness, toward home.

We've done our part. And as I walk off into the city streets, a final word to the men and women of the Reagan revolution, the men and women across America who for eight years did the work that brought America back. My friends: We did it. We weren't just marking time. We made a difference. We made the city stronger. We made the city freer, and we left her in good hands. All in all, not bad, not bad at all.

And so, good-bye, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.

yep. Same here. The first election I remember is....well forgeting that one. So GW Bush is the first election I remember!

I wish we had another Ronald Reagan in contention right now, but I suppose I should wait to see how GW pans out.

Bravo, MsVicki!

Mrs. Cato and I are on the Chairman's Committee for The RR Foundation, and the President's Committee for Young America's Foundation. They are two organizations that stand firmly for everything that Ronald Reagan worked to accomplish, and work to perpetuate his legacy.

MsVicki, you reminded me that I got an email from Mark Burson of the Reagan Foundation that contained a URL for sending a Christmas message to Nancy Reagan. If you want to thank President Reagan yourself, here's the posting
