Thank you President Reagan. We won one for the Gipper.
It all comes back to this man. Don't ever forget that.
TO THE GREATEST PRESIDENT OF MY LIFETIME: THANK YOU!!!!
YOUR LEGACY ENDURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bump for the Gipper.
He still gives me chills.
BIG BUMP in the night!!!!!!
The Gipper's revenge - Justice Scalia.
I only wish he was well enough to know that he has saved us once again. God bless Ronald Reagan!
Imagine if Carter had won.
Or Mondale.
God Bless you President and Mrs. Reagan!!!!!!
damn....ya had to go and make me cry...
God Bless you President Reagan, sir!
and still brings tears to my eyes.
He will know again someday...
Imagine if Carter had won. Or Mondale.
Or, of course, Gore. This is really what these elections are all about. Nothing is more lasting and can be more distructive to our society and the constitution than a Supreme Court Justice. In Washington DC, we saw the good. In Florida, we saw the bad.
Reagan appointed Scalia, Kennedy, and O'Connor. Additionally, he nominated Rehnquist for Chief Justice. The Reagan Legacy continues.
God Bless you, President Reagan.
After what W's been through, I can only imagine he'll use the Gipper as his shining light when he makes his appointments.
Thank You, Mr. President, I only wish I had been old enough to enjoy your two terms in office, sir.
Bump!!!
Just turned 18 in time to vote for Ronald Reagan's second term. I'm so glad!
God bless Ronald Reagan. Back then we had a President we could be proud of. Now, thanks to him, we may have one again.
Thank You, Mr. President, I only wish I had been old enough to enjoy your two terms in office, sir.
I joined the miltary at age 17. He was my commander in chief before I was even old enough to vote. He was the first President I ever voted for.
Amen! Ronaldo Magnus you have saved your country in more ways than we can tell you. I remember first hand how you gave us back our AMERICAN PRIDE after Jimmy Carter took it away. Thank you sir, thank you!
"After what W's been through, I can only imagine he'll use the Gipper as his shining light when he makes his appointments."
I sure hope so. My fear is that W uses his Dad or brother Jeb as an example. His Dad's very first pick was the empty Souter and Jeb let one one of those liberal dem's slip past him, rather than be devisive and pick his own choice.
Amen. May God Bless Ronald Reagan, a warm, kind, and humble man, and my hero.
Great Communicator Bump
Thank You Mr President.
Bump
I can thank God that I had the opportunity shake the hand of then Governor and Presidential Candidate Ronald Reagan in 1980. What a presence! And what a great Commander-in-Chief to serve under.
We can only hope and pray that George W. Bush will be half the President that the Gipper was! That would be a wonderful change from the last depressing eight years.
Give him an extra big hug for us tonight Mrs. Reagan!
From Ronaldus Magnus' 1st Inaugural Address:
So, as we begin, let us take inventory. We are a nation that has a government—not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the Earth. Our Government has no power except that granted it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed.
and from the 2nd Inaugural Address:
That system has never failed us, but, for a time, we failed the system. We asked things of government that government was not equipped to give. We yielded authority to the National Government that properly belonged to States or to local governments or to the people themselves. We allowed taxes and inflation to rob us of our earnings and savings and watched the great industrial machine that had made us the most productive people on Earth slow down and the number of unemployed increase.
GOD BLESS RONALD REAGAN!
I sure hope so. My fear is that W uses his Dad or brother Jeb as an example.
On November 8th I would have said yes. By September 12th, I suspect GWB's view may have changed a bit.
After what W's been through, I can only imagine he'll use the Gipper as his shining light when he makes his appointments.
I sure hope he will. How about James Baker, and a female conservative judge to replace O'Connor and Renquist if they retire? Wouldn't that just get Kennedy, Biden and the boys riled up:)
As opposed to 'Justice' Souter, in the closet for some things, but out of the closet liberal. Bush the Elder should be ashamed for listening to Sununu and Rudman.

It disturbs me greatly that George W. keeps saying he's going to appoint DemonRats to his administration. Can he really be that stupid, with so many congresspersons already saying that they will block everything W. attempts to accomplish?

GOD BLESS RR, ELIAN, THE MOST HONORABLE JUSTICE SCALIA AND PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH!!!
Ronaldus Magnus!!! The greatest President of my generation, or any generation for that matter.
His legacy goes on, Thank you , thank you, thank you Ronald Reagan, your virtues, and high personal standards, and high regard for the constitution has saved us once again.
You destroyed the Socialist nation of the USSR, and you may now have single handedly done it again, accept here at home!!!
The left is losing, and now we can now destroy them!!!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
My children owe you thier freedom, thank you Ronald Reagan.
Again, Thank You, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
Forgot the most important quotes!
(from Second Inaugural Address)
My fellow citizens, our Nation is poised for greatness. We must do what we know is right and do it with all our might. Let history say of us, "These were golden years--when the American Revolution was reborn, when freedom gained new life, when America reached for her best."Our two-party system has served us well over the years, but never better than in those times of great challenge when we came together not as Democrats or Republicans, but as Americans united in a common cause.
Two of our Founding Fathers, a Boston lawyer named Adams and a Virginia planter named Jefferson, members of that remarkable group who met in Independence Hall and dared to think they could start the world over again, left us an important lesson. They had become political rivals in the Presidential election of 1800. Then years later, when both were retired, and age had softened their anger, they began to speak to each other again through letters. A bond was reestablished between those two who had helped create this government of ours.
I sure hope he will. How about James Baker, and a female conservative judge to replace O'Connor and Renquist if they retire? Wouldn't that just get Kennedy, Biden and the boys riled up:)
Good suggestions. But I want young, healthy conservatives. Baker is too old and, well, God bless Sandra Day O'Conner, but I've never seen a woman in politics that you could really really count on. Until Kathleen Harris, of course.
Reagan's First Inaugural Address
We may finally find that "Great shining city on the hill" God Bless Ronald Reagan.
The Ann Coulter fan club is probably gonna be p.o.'ed at that one! ;-)
LOL Gotta love Annie! But you can't see those legs under a black robe.
Weeeelllll, one more for the Gipper!
Thank you Mr. President. You are that shining light on hill.
Your name, you legacy, will forever be given to history.
BUT, "THUMBS DOWN" to Pres. Gerald Ford (Republican) for appointing Justice STEVENS (ultra Liberal), and Pres. Bush, Sr. for appointing Justice Souter (Liberal). These two justices are definitely anti-Republican!!! Stupid...stupid...stupid.... MISTAKE!
THANK GOD FOR PRESIDENT REAGAN AND HIS WISE CHOICES HE MADE AS OUR PRESIDENT. MAY GOD CONTINUE HIS WORK THROUGH GEORGE W. BUSH. THANK-YOU PRESIDENT REAGAN AND TO ALL THE REPUBLICANS WHO HELP GUIDE OUR COUNTRY. LET'S CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR PRESIDENT REAGAN AND NOW ARE NEW PRESIDENT BUSH AND IT PROBABLY WOULDN'T HURT TO INCLUDE HIS FATHER AND THE REST OF HIS FAMILY. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SAY THANK-YOU TO OUR FELLOW FREEPERS FOR ALL THEIR CONTINUED HARD WORK IN THIS LONG HARD BATTLE.
Although, in all fairness, both of them were judged to be conservative before their appointments. Just goes to show you gotta REALLY grill these folks. I'd ask Scalia for input!!! If only Bork were an "exalted one"...
You can continue to keep his ideas alive by supporting the Reagan Ranch, and the Young America's Foundation. The DemonRats almost purchased the ranch with the purpose of smearing Reagan's legacy, but the Young America's Foundation raised enough money to purchase it. I believe it is used for educating young people in conservative values and preserving Reagan's legacy.
Ronald Reagan and John Tower
Tower was the 1st Republican elected in a State Wide election in Texas since reconstruction.
Tower was elected to fill LBJ's senate position when LBJ was elcted vice-president with Kennedy
A little history lesson there

"It disturbs me greatly that George W. keeps saying he's going to appoint DemonRats to his administration. Can he really be that stupid, with so many congresspersons already saying that they will block everything W. attempts to accomplish?"
I completely agree, this has me frightened. His Dad tried to appease the liberal media by raising taxes, then they mugged him. He tried to appease blacks by signing the Civil Rights Act of 1990, he got no black votes for it but alienated conservatives. He tried to appease liberals by signing the Disability Act, it generated massive litigation and cost for buisness helping to cause the brief recession(other causes see above).
Pavlof's dog was a quicker study than these Bushes, Bush will break my heart if starts naming Democrats and liberal Republicans to his cabinet. Please W. just give me Frank Keating as Attorney General!

SIMPLY THE BEST!!
I know that graphics aren't too popular but this IS Reagan, and he's worth it.
"Thank You, Mr. President, I only wish I had been old enough to enjoy your two terms in office, sir.
Bump
I was born in 1982, but barely remember Bush's presidency, let alone Reagan. But the more I see of his legacy-- the downfall of the Soviet Empire, our economic leap forward, and now his judges aving our country.... President Reagan, thank you soooo much. When you finished your second term, I was 6 years old and could never comprend your contributions. Tis a pity I never knew ya.

Confound it!! You dag-nabbed whippersnapper, I got underwear older that you are. Sheesh!!
Just when I started to feel good tonight, then I am reminded that I was born during Truman!!
Bump for the gipper again!!! Thank you!!! Thank YOU, Thank you!!!
Thanks for the beautiful picture of my hero, Ronald Reagan. During my husband's position as Chief of Staff, AF Academy, Colorado Springs, President Reagan spoke at the graduation, 1984. I was on the stand with him as he shook hands with each graduate--a thousand in all. I told him he was handsomer in person than on tv. He let me kiss his cheek and he kissed mine. His skin was glowing, translucent. It seems like a dream to me now. He taught us the effect that one person can have in an evil world. What a pleasant, strong man. God Bless Him, truly.
I never had the priviledge of meeting the GREAT Ronald Reagan, you are very lucky!!!
I was in the military while he was president and that was the ONLY reason I joined the military, he made me feel good about being an American, and I was proud to be in the US Army under his command.
Thank you Sir for you service!!!
I LOVE the graphics and I can't do them, sniff. I will never forget President Ronald Reagan!!!! Thank you forever.
This is a great thread. Everyone will get a thrill from reading it. I was privileged to vote four times for Ronald Reagan, all legally cast, I might add. He was and still is a very inspiring man. May God bless him and Nancy Reagan for her strength and devotion.
"My idea of the way to start is to take Government off the backs of the people and make you FREE again"

I had to post my own pic of The Great One, although it's a side of him you don't see often!
I had to stand in the rain for awhile to get this spot! He's still my hero to this day.
From October 28, 1988, Arkansas Gazette.
One of the greatest americans to EVER live. Our Founding Fathers would be proud of the man. Too bad some people have made it their life-long task to tear down the memory of this awsome man.
What a gorgeous, simply gorgeous pic of our hero, Ronald Reagan. The pic really captures his personality and goodness. I actually got to meet him in 1984. How horrible to think that AlBore tried to look like him in the debates. Ugh! Yuck! He isn't worthy to carry Reagan's shoes. I wish one of Reagan's shoes could kick the jerk out of the country. God, how I despise that phony, shallow, greedy excuse for a human--Owlie Bore. He's acting crazier by the minute. It is my true belief that God kept the democrats from stealing enough votes to win the election. So, I thank God also for saving us!
God Bless President Reagan!!
Mr President, you and Nancy are in our prayers. You have served your country well and when you are called home by our Lord, you will hear those wonerdful words..."well done, good and faithful servant" Thank you and God bless you and your family!
Thank you for responding to my story of meeting the Great Communicator Reagan. You are also lucky to have served under him in the military. God Bless you and all like you who appreciate quality when you see it!
"Reagan appointed Scalia, Kennedy, and O'Connor. Additionally, he nominated Rehnquist for Chief Justice."
Not bad for an "amiable dunce", eh?
God Bless you, Mr President.
bump
Another bump for the gipper!!
And Another!!!
And Another!!! President Reagan, God Bless you Sir!! When you are called, you will be sorely missed!!!
I just love President and Mrs. Reagan so very much! And I am deeply grateful for their on-going ministry to all of us!
Nancee
Not bad for an "amiable dunce", eh?
The utter contempt the left had for Reagan is already being exceeded with their attempts to 'dunce' GWB. We'll have to be on guard for this over the next few years.
What a gorgeous, simply gorgeous pic of our hero, Ronald Reagan. The pic really captures his personality and goodness.
He simply glows in front of the camera, doesn't he? You can almost feel his positive influence.
From Ronald Reagan's last speech to the nation:
And how stands the city on this winter night? More prosperous, more secure, and happier than it was eight years ago. But more than that; after two hundred years, two centuries, she still stands strong and true on the granite ridge, and her glow has held steady no matter what storm. And she's still a beacon, still a magnet for all who must have freedom, for all the pilgrims from all the lost places who are hurtling through the darkness, toward home.
We've done our part. And as I walk off into the city streets, a final word to the men and women of the Reagan revolution, the men and women across America who for eight years did the work that brought America back. My friends: We did it. We weren't just marking time. We made a difference. We made the city stronger. We made the city freer, and we left her in good hands. All in all, not bad, not bad at all.
And so, good-bye, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.
yep. Same here. The first election I remember is....well forgeting that one. So GW Bush is the first election I remember!
I wish we had another Ronald Reagan in contention right now, but I suppose I should wait to see how GW pans out.
Bravo, MsVicki!
Mrs. Cato and I are on the Chairman's Committee for The RR Foundation, and the President's Committee for Young America's Foundation. They are two organizations that stand firmly for everything that Ronald Reagan worked to accomplish, and work to perpetuate his legacy.
MsVicki, you reminded me that I got an email from Mark Burson of the Reagan Foundation that contained a URL for sending a Christmas message to Nancy Reagan. If you want to thank President Reagan yourself, here's the posting
