The stupidity of some people in this world
|
|
This picture
is real - not doctored in anyway - and was taken in
The car is still running as can be witnessed by the exhaust.
A woman is either asleep or otherwise out in the front
seat passenger side. The guy JUST UNBELIEVABLE!!!! |
Captions anyone?
Natural Selection in not far behind in FL.
Ummmmmmmm, Waldorf and Annapolis are both in Maryland, not Florida. The two in the car probably haven't had a chance to retire and move south yet...
After loading that much lumber, I would need a nap, too!
"The car is a VW Jetta with FL plates..."
Car's got Florida plates. Looks like he's moving from Florida and going to build a house in the woods somewhere....
...and the guy said he was headed for Annapolis.
Must have been the guy that showed Gov. Parris Glendening how to operate the gun lock.
There were Florida plates on the car.
Perhaps Florida residents building their dream home in PG county? Anapolis seems a bit too yuppie for this...
PS: Don't give a damn about the whole state of Maryland, I'm from the Eastern Shore (as the song goes)
Yep, it's settled then. Car was definitely out of Florida, and this guy officially qualifies as a voter in Palm Beach County, whether he lives there or not.

Think of the gas mileage, having to drive uphill the whole way to Maryland.
Tell me that you are NOT trying to pick a fight.
There was a hurricane a coming and she wanted to get all those supplies before prices went up. These attacks on Florida are coming from a bunch of Y2K freaks who can't see other disasters coming their way.
The "Fountain of Youth" must really be the "Fountain of Stupidity", and it is, of course, located in Florida.
When he saw it in the parking lot of IHOP, he went and bought a camera to take pictures.
I can't hardly believe they made into the IHOP parking lot.
The witnesses said their physical state was OTHER than normal...
Well duh! They crunched their car in Florida, expecting to make it to Maryland? It didn't occur to them to purchase in Annanapolis and in much lighter increments? We are talking some serious drugs/booze here...
Personnaly I would sue the outfit that loaded the stuff. Notice how the load shifted to the rear. It's their fault and she is a victim.
Put a darn Texan in the White House and we can expect more of this attacks on us average people.
HEY!! THAT'S MY CAR!! heeheehee
Only in Florida.
She is probably going to build Pro-Gorebachad signs
What a shame. I don't really get the point though. Hell, anyone could forget to put an extra hundred pounds of air pressure into a tire to reasonably compensate for a little heavier load. It's an easy mistake to make.
"Tell me that you are NOT trying to pick a fight."
Nope, not trying to start a fight. Notice I put "some Florida residents" in the title. You gotta admit you guys are easy targets these days, thanks to those "less than smart" PBC voters. ;-)
Gotta strike while the iron is hot. 'Sides, had to tie it to politics somehow, didn't I?
I'll bet they were Firestone tires.
bttt
Glad they didn't acutally make it to Annapolis! I live there and we have ENOUGH idiots.
Just to clarify, I only live here, I am not from here, I don't really want to be here, but here is where I am for now!!
They should bring suit against the cops.I will bet you they were Racial Profiling-has to be the only reason for spotting this.
"I'll bet they were Firestone tires."
ROFLMCO! A+, you ain't supposed to be that funny while I'm lurking at work! My co-workers are starting to look at me funny with coffee running out my nose!
"...and we will then be able to abolish the orgasm.."
...and I will force the nation to abide by the rulings of the PC Anti-Heterosex League!"
In Floriduh, they were demanding affirmative action for stupid people.
What are ya'll talkin about? I'm from Florida. They're just haulin their spare tires up on the roof instead of the trunk. Easier to cut'em out that way. What's wrong with you?
years back I worked at a tire shop in Iowa, had this guy come driving an "el" car can't remember if ford or chevy. He had the thing loaded with railroad ties, said he needed air in his tires, I said you need to drop some of the load. Well he goes and puts air in the tires and blows one, wants me to change his tire I said sure just as soon as you unload the car. He wouldn't unload it I didn't fix it. Saw him after I'd closed shop with the car unloaded bumber jack in hand. Some people just don't understand the weight limit of anything.
Put a darn Texan in the White House and we can expect more of this attacks on us average people.
Been having a few on my state as well from Texans, Bert.
To get their heads back to the correct size all we have to do is remind a few that some of their "best and brightest" elected Sheila Jackson-Lee and also gave us LBJ......hehe.
Caption "Theresa LePore delivers new ballots that Plam Beach seniors can read"
And a Hehehehehehe bump on that one. I'll put it in my files.
Yes, but they saved that $25 delivery fee.
I can't believe Home Depot loaded that even with a waiver. I once wanted to buy a 12' 2x4. They not only wouldn't load it for me (I didn't ask), but they wouldn't let me leave with it period. They said it was too long and hung out the back too far unless you have a lumber truck. They were probably right.
I don't tend to be a litigious type, and obviously the two in the car deserve whatever they get. But that car looks extremely dangerous to people who had nothing to do with it, a public hazard. Assuming that it actually got moving on a public road (I don't know how far from HD the IHOP is) it could have resulted in something serious. A load of 2x4s dumped in the middle of traffic could mess things up. Someone from Home Depot needs to have their head examined. If that car had tipped and hit me I would not be looking to a couple of "OTHER than normal" types for compensation.
patent
Aw now. Why'd go an' have to do that for?
Sheila Jackson-Lee, ok, I'll give you that one. The folks in her district are stupid.
LBJ, well, that one's a little harder to 'splain. Probably just a pride thing, you know, "look ma, thar's a Texan running for President!". 'Course we weren't the only ones that elected him.
Somebody shot somebody to make him President the first time. Did you see that thead about his problem with the helicopter crew? A good one.
LOL!!!
Yes Officer.... My sister is my wife......... why do you ask?
And we both voted for Gore
"Did you see that thead about his problem with the helicopter crew?"
Yes, I enjoyed it immensely. Someone owes that fellow a beer!
This is the thread. It is a good one.
How Marine One "Borked" LBJ on Nixon's 1969 Inaugural - Watch out Billy!
Well he goes and puts air in the tires and blows one
Years ago a fella in my high school class overloaded a tire to the point it blew and in the process got himself killed. I couldn't tell you what hit him, but I do remember it took half his face off.
I have always remembered that whenever I put air in my tires, but once on the NJ turnpike the guage was off and I later found out I had loaded all the tires on a Datsum B210 up to about 62 lbs. It did have a real firm sort of feel to it. I now always carry my own guage.
Here's the link:
Anyone interested in a good read on an Ex President this is one of the best.
The email I got at work with this story included the following:
"Witnesses said their physical state was OTHER than normal. The driver finally came back after the police were called, and was found crouched behind the rear of the car, attempting to cut the twine around the load! Luckily, the police stopped him and had the load removed."
And...that's what this one said in the first paragraph below the photo... ;-)
Transportation mishap threatens chads on new, improved, Palm Beach County ballots.
Recognise this?
Yep, it's settled then. Car was definitely out of Florida, and this guy officially qualifies as a voter in Palm Beach County, whether he lives there or not.
Say, let's be easy on Floridians. Most of them are Bushies, except for the screwed up "migrant" voters from the great state of New York - you know, the ones that voted for Hitlary, also?????
LOL...A visual definition of "Over Load."
Not enough wood for a house.
An outhouse perhaps, or more likely a LOCKBOX!
These "Palm Beach Voter" Jokes Must Stop Continue!
....and I bet you feel more like you do right now, than you did a little while ago. :-)
Whew....sure am glad the load didn't shift to the front...then they couldn't find their way to Maryland!
One of Biden's advisors no doubt.
One of my favorite threads! Thanks Chief!
I gotta go back and read it once in a while, just to remember the stupidity of PBVs.
BTW & Off subject...I was the phurst western dance instructor in San Antone -- mid 70s. Every Thursday night @ Randy's Rodeo Dance Hall!
Live in Houston now. Where do you hail frum?
Nevermind, just clicked on UR name...duh? Ever play golf at Pine Forest?
Shot of the woman traveling with the guys who drove -- and loaded -- this vehicle.
She spent the time it took to offload the "cargo" from atop the car campaigning for Algore at the nearby Palm Beach County Home For The Perpetually Bewildered.
Looks like another VW ad to me...
"Drivers Wanted".
gave up golf way back when I had my second child. I'll pick it up again one day. Used to play at Garden Valley alot. Great golf courses.
This is no doubt a New York liberal who has moved to Florida.
Excellent Post! What a fool!!!
I can't believe Home Depot loaded that even with a waiver.
Something doesn't add up. I'm an illustrator, and also a photo-retoucher, and this doesn't appear to be retouched. If it is it's a damn fine job.
But my mechanical engineering background smells a rat. A 3000lb. static load? Can a car roof support this without caving in? I seriously doubt it. You can practically dent the roof of any car by just pressing down with your hand. The weight estimate seems to be about right: 40 sheets x 75 lbs = 3000lbs.
And what about the twine? What load can the twine take? And why didn't the sheets slide? At that angle some of the sheets should have slipped. I don't see how 40 sheets of plywood could remain in a "block," especially when I can't see any wrap-around twine.
As I said, another New York liberal who moved to Florida. Probably one that is always telling us how things are better in New York too!
I would imagine the roof is rather flat (crushed) though it cannot be seen. I would also guess that the Home Depot where the stuff was loaded was probably in the same shopping center. I agree, they can't have driven that thing very far.
Look closer at the back seat roof - it is crushed. Look at the amount of twine holding it. I imagine it is very precarious and a simple "twanging" of one of the twine lines in the back would break it and result in catastrophic failure of the roof load.
The picture is real, I have seen it discussed and debated elsewhere months ago. The police that came arrested the guy for being on drugs. I believe the home improvement store did have them sign a waiver, while standing underneath the big sign that says "we load your vehicle at your instructions and your risk".
This kind of thing happens. When I worked at a gas station back in the early eighties, there was a guy who used his Saab like a pickup truck. He once came in with the shocks bottomed out and the back full of dirt on top of a tarp. What a moron.
Human stupidity is not exclusive to Florida. Multiple this by 50 states and you know why so many of our citizen's response to conservative logic and reason is "DUH?".

OK, I'll take your word for it. I noticed this afternoon that the roof rack on my minivan says "Warning: Maximum load 110lbs." So it was only over-loaded by 2000lbs!
This is in Waldorf, Maryland where they now require people with Florida tags to take an IQ test before they are allowed to purchase building materials.
