We had a good turnout which had a peak of 70-90 people and a total of over a hundred when all attendees were counted.

We rallied outside of the south entrance to the Center House at Seattle Center beginning at 9:30 a.m.

At that time Sgt. Krueger of the Seattle Police Department (Bicycle detachment). came over a spent about 20 minutes briefing us on the do's and don'ts for the day.

He was polite and helpfull. We assured him we would be no trouble and I told him he would have more trouble at the skate park across the street than he would get from us.

In attendence were me, Billthedrill, and In Vino, Veritas. There were other freepers there but I didn't get there names (note for next time) and so they will have to sign in on this thread.

We had TERRIFIC signage. I brought ten signs as backups for the unprepared but they were unnecessary, as just about everyone brought their own. The signs were varied and included the typical; "Hitler was for gun control", "Self Defense is A Human Right", and "Guns Save Lives".

Other signage can be found at the url above

We had a turnout of that included many families with children, ages ranging young like my two year old to teens upwards of 16.

We had lot's of literature to hand out. Some was official NRA stuff and other were courtesy of attendees who did the work and paid the freight themselves.

My friend Ben made orange signs with the phrase "NO GUNS IN THIS HOUSE" as a joke that is obvious to our side, but he went to the MMM welcome desk and gave the signs to the gals there who were happy to pass them out. Is there no end to their stupidity? LOL.

The MMMers had a better turnout in Seattle than the rest of the country from the early reports I have read. They had about 400 inside the center house, but that number is inflated because this is the eating and food sales area for the whole Seattle Center. I think that number is pretty pathetic considering the free publicity this event was given by the media (the Gov and his wife were in attendence and she is a former local broadcaster) and our side used only the internet to get the word out. This brings some extra bodies to the crowd.

I went through with my daughter on a bathroom run (potty training in progress) and walked around looking at the displays. I stopped by the League of Women Voters table who are "non partisan". The kind lady asked me if I would like to sign a pre written letter to my congressman asking for "commons sense gun laws". I told her no thanks. She asked "why not". I told her "because I don't agree with the letter." The smile on her face disappeared faster than Superman jumping Lois Lane.

She then asked, with a (no kidding, this is the only way to describe it) tremble of fear in her voice, are you for gun (slight pause while searching for non offensive word) rights?

I said "I am for liberty"

The other lady manning the booth then offered me a directory of my Reps and Sen. which I accepted. I then told them we agree on most of the problems with guns and safety and et al, but just not the solutions and there is no reason why we should not be able to be polite to eachother when discussing the issue.

I then left and headed for the door. On my way out I passed a couple and the lady said to her mate, "It's just awfull having to pass by all those kooks outside." I let it pass and just left.

There weren't many incidents of harrassment that I know of (I had to leave at 12:30 for my Mom's and Sister's college graduation), but I did see two jerks from the other side.

One was a guitar carrying loser who, while walking by, said "their is a special place reserved in hell for people like you". We gave him a few barbs as he quickly hoofed it out of sight.

The other heckler was a 50 something guy and his woman. While walking by he took one look at our signs and yelled "What the F### is this Sh%%? I yelled back "nice language in front of all these kids." he said "thanks", so I told him to go get a thesaurus and find an alternate word with the same meaning for use around children".

The speeches were just starting when I had to leave so if anyone else was there they should start filling in the blanks.

Oh yea, a beautiful day with sun as far as the sky can see.

In other words, you brought almost as many gun-rights activists to your rally in Washington State as MMM turned out in D.C. this year. Good going!

MMM melts down in D.C. - see photo

She and the Sarah Goldman of 1938 Germany.....our government wouldn't do that to us. Not the wonderful Mr. Hitler. Nah. Roll over and go back to sleep, Sarah.

She was still crapping in her pants thinking I was a baby killing school shooter.

As an aside, I work in a grocery store and one of my customers is a very liberal Jewish lady.

Before the election I told her that algore would lose because of people like me in the NRA. I think that case can be made, West Virginia, Tennessee, and a few other states he should have won.

She made a common mistake though. She assumed that since I was a nice guy I must think like she does.

When she heard me say I was an NRA member she immediately asked why I wanted kids to be able to get saturday night specials.

I told her I don't want kids to have guns, running around shooting eachother. And I told her the history of the term "sat. night special" and that the original term was a Nig### sat. night special. And that some people know the history of that phrase and might assume she was a racist if she used it.

That had an immediate effect and I added one last comment for her; "Check out the website "Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership", and learn about the history of gun rights and Jews.

She said "I don't think so" and took off.

At other times she has made comments about abortion that made it clear she is pro abortion because she thinks too many black babys are being born. A typical diversity lovin liberal.

You know, looking at all those buttons in the trash I think they would make great training aids. Maybe a tougher El Presidente target.

For you dolts the El Presidente is a training drill where you shoot at two targets, not a threat against a political leader.

Nice writeup, Ern! I stuck around a little longer, then I went inside for a look at the, er, "crowd." Mostly weepy stories about how someone or other got shot, or knew someone who had, and weren't these guns awful, and maybe if we all wish together and tap our ruby slippers together they'll all disappear from the face of the earth...

OK, a little exaggeration, but it was like that. Had a great time outside, nice people, and it was pretty clear who the cops were sympathizing with - clue: it wasn't Sarah Brady. I note that Gov. and Mrs. Locke were there with their coterie of armed guards. I was thinking I was safer outside.

Pix at the developer, then I'll have to figure out where to post them so's everyone can see them. Advice on the matter welcome (FReepmail preferred...)

Hello! I still gots your sign BTW. I see you got a couple of nice shots of me bum too. It was fun, and a beautiful day. We need some bar-b-que pits next time as well. : )

Also, you corrected my mispelling of my name. The way I write it is more, "In I come, there is truth." The Times article was alright. I talked to some people who saw us on the telly as well.

See you next freeping, and keep me posted.

Hey Big Ern!

I think your figure of 400 for the MMMers is way too high. The only real MMMers I saw there were the ones manning the booths. I think 75 would even be a liberal estimate. The crowds were the usual lookie-lous that normally hang out at Seattle Center on the weekends, looking for freebies and stuff to do with their kids. The MMMers capitalized on that by handing out free carnations to any kid who would take one (ostensibly, by carrying around a carnation you were showing support for 'sensible' gun laws). They also had a "banner painting" booth where kids could make handprints with colored tempra paint on a big banner which the MMMers intended to take to Olympia to show children's "support." What a crock! Those kids just wanted to goof around with paint and smear their hands on a big clean sheet of white paper! BTW - I saw the MMMers offering passersby the big orange cards (NO GUNS IN THIS HOUSE). LOL! What dimwits! Anyway, it was a beautiful sunny day. A perfect day actually. Some really great posters had terrific eye-impact (like one with a picture of a woman aiming a pistol that said "RAPISTS CAN'T HANDLE A WELL-ARMED WOMAN", etc.) and sent a powerful message to everyone. Even made it into the way left/liberal Seattle Times. And, a lot of people were open to the pro-freedom message.

Great Seattle FReep at the base of the Space Needle!

" the MMMers offering passersby the big orange cards (NO GUNS IN THIS HOUSE). LOL! What dimwits! "

What a hoot! Wish I could'a been there to see this!

At the very least I could have had my kid sister go in my place. She (lives /works/has CPP) in Seattle, and she would have loved it!

Good work, everybody!
