HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- A teacher's aide accused of molesting nine children and logging the acts in his personal journal has been charged with 21 counts of sexual abuse.
The first charges against Laurence Freeman McKisson, 53, were filed last week after a student at Edneyville Elementary School told the principal McKisson had fondled him during a tutoring session.
The latest charges, filed Wednesday, involve a 14-year-old boy who had been helping McKisson pack boxes last week at his home in Etowah.
Detectives searching McKisson's home after his May 24 arrest discovered stacks of pornography and a journal that included a long list of victims from various places McKisson had worked over the past two decades, said Lt. Walter Harper of the Henderson County Sheriff's Department.
Harper said he had contacted the Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Arlington, Va., about the case. McKisson also had worked with children's theatrical groups and as a private tutor in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Maryland, he said.
McKisson is being held on $2 million bond. The charges against him include first-degree statutory sex offense, which carries a 25-years-to-life sentence, and indecent liberties with a child.

This whole unfortunate misunderstanding could have easily been avoided if the damn Boy Scouts hadn't been so narrow minded. This guy should sue the BSA! Here they are, protecting all that young, clean meat, forcing this poor guy to shop at school. Let's put this behind us and move on.

Perhaps the purpose was to remind folks that sexual predators are alive and well, and that their business is booming in the age of "hate the Boy Scouts because they won't allow sexual deviants to be Troop leaders". Just a guess of course.

Maybe they were too embarrassed? Some kids are afraid of being called a homosexual too. If a guy tried anything with me, I'd run and scream at the top of my lungs to let everyone know about it. I hope they get this pervert.

As for the article posting, I say Good Job! These types of perversion are intentionally under-reported in the mainstream media. The rage I feel when watching Gloria "C-yoU-Next-Tuesday" Allred lambast the Boyscouts for discrimination is immeasurable.
Any family that is comfortable with leaving their son under the supervision of a homosexual Scout leader deserve a public beating.

There is an epidemic of sexual molestation occurring in government schools. Cases rarely are picked up by the wire services. But let it occur in a private school or church..the story goes national overnight.
The Clark County NV school district has had 6 cases since the first of the year including one in which a teacher was involved in child pornography. Did you hear of any of these cases? I didn't think so.

His attorney, James L. "Skip" Goldsmith Jr. of Hendersonville, said Thursday that McKisson would plead innocent. "He denies the charges; he says they're not true," Goldsmith said in a phone interview. "He has taught these children in the past and he knows them. And he absolutely didn't do what he's charged with."
Some of the children have emotional problems, and McKisson believes those contributed to the allegations, Goldsmith said. "My feeling is this thing, like a lot of these type cases, just mushroomed."
McKisson leads a reclusive life that might cause some people to consider him odd, the attorney said. "I think that contributes to some of the problems he has now. He's a fairly easy target."
There IS a purpose to these posts. People need to be aware that they must be 100% vigilant at all times with their children. They need to know that professions which involve children are magnets for perverts. NO ONE is to be trusted!
