The news that 3 out of 4 Palestinians polled support suicide bombings – last weekend's killed 19 young Israelis and injured scores of others – is accompanied by increased public calls for "martyrdom" of young Arabs. In fact, in the May 28 edition of the Egyptian opposition weekly Al-Usbu', columnist Amru Nasif not only calls for martyrdom operations to defeat Israel, but even volunteers to join the ranks of martyrs himself.
Here, as translated by The Middle East Media Research Institute, are excerpts of Nasif's article:
"... with every blow struck by the Al-Aqsa Intifada, my conviction grows stronger that I, and all those who are of the same mind, have been right all along and am still right in my belief that the despised racist Jewish entity will be annihilated. Contrary to others, however, I am not ashamed to speak about driving them into the sea, to hell, or to the trash heap they deserve.
"I maintain, and Allah is my witness, that the annihilation and defeat of the Israelis, after which they will not have resurrection, does not require all these things. All that it requires is to concentrate on acts of martyrdom, or what is known as 'the strategy of the balance of fear.'
"Let us do some mathematical calculations: 250 Palestinians have signed up for martyrdom operations, and it is not impossible to raise this number to 1,000 throughout the Arab world, i.e., one fedayi (martyr) out of every 250,000 Arabs. The average harvest of each act of martyrdom is 10 dead and 50 wounded. Thus, 1000 acts of martyrdom would leave the Zionists with at least 10,000 dead and 50,000 wounded. This is double the number of Israeli casualties in all their wars with the Arabs since 1948. They cannot bear this. There is also the added advantage, not noted by many, of negative Jewish emigration, which, as a consequence of the 1,000 martyrdom operations will come to at least 1,000,000 Jews, followed by the return of every Jew to the place from whence he came. ...
"I am signing myself up as the first martyr from Egypt and declare that I am ready to commit an act of martyrdom at any moment. I will place myself under the command of Mr. Hassan Nasrallah, 'Hamas,' the Islamic Jihad, or any other jihad movement.
"Never in my life have I asked Allah for money, honor or power. All that I have asked, all that I ask, all that I will ask, is that Allah allow me to become a shaheed and grant me the honor of reaping as great a harvest as possible of Israeli lives. ..."

heads up
Comments by the Egyptian "journalist" are probably typical of most Arabs. And Egypt and Israel have a peace accord if I am not mistaken. The loss of Israel would be disastrous to civilizaion. Imagine the Mideast as a conglomeration of nutty states like Iraq, Libya etc. with leaders like Hussein, Khaddafy, and Arafat. These people are criminals, and many of the people they govern are uncivilized, murderous halfwits. The future may deem it necessary for the West to recolonize these dopes before they do the world real harm. This is not a denunciation of all Arabs. I have Arab-American friends. Additionally, the cretins ruling Afghanistan and a few other Asian countries are non-Arabs. Any group of people can be deranged momentarily, but right now it the Mideast Arabs who are most dangerous to Israel and world peace.

New Study: Parents of Half of Arab Babies are Related (Israel Wire-4/29) A new study conducted by Hadassah Hospital shows that in half the births in the Arab sector, the babies' parents are related to each other. The study checked 540 births of Arab babies born in Hadassah and Bikur Holim hospitals. The study showed that in 46% of babies born to Moslem families, the parents are related. In 23% of the births, the parents were first cousins. The study also showed that educated Arab women are less likely to marry a relative. Professor Yona Amitai and Dr. Reuven Bromiker of Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital, two of the editors of the study, pointed out that these facts have wide ramifications for public health. They stated that the risk of many kinds of birth defects in children whose parents are related are at least twice as great. According to the findings of the study, each year hundreds of children are born each year with birth defects, causing hospitalizations, operations, and a rise in mortality. www.israelwire.com/rip While this may or may not be funny it sure goes a long way to explain a great many things!

>Hello Charley Reese. Come on down!!
Lol. I can think of a whole bunch of people who ought to line up for this, if they're really principled. And of course they ought to do live training first, in a suitably remote place.
The morals of journalists.. many years back, a Norwegian reporter, who shall remain unnamed, was interviewed by a national broadcaster. He had been to the middle east, and had followed PLO terrorists on a raid against civilians. Asked more closely about his role, he "didn't do anything". But "he carried ammo". Surprisingly, he's still out of jail.
Has anyone sent this to Dan, Tom, Peter, and the gang at CNN? None of them ever have an original thought so it would be like the Blue Angels' flight leader doing a lawn dart imitation.......... ahhh, the humanity!
I suggest all of the suicide bomber wannabes should go to suicide bomber camp, far in the desert, and have lots of practice rounds with each other. I mean, you have to test those bombs to make sure they work. And if the intelligence level of these loons is what I think it is, they would agree to this idea, don't you think?
The average harvest of each act of martyrdom is 10 dead and 50 wounded.
Geez these people are nuts... Could someone ask them where their 'God' say hatred and killing is good? I think their religion has been perverted by those with a political agenda. Doesn't their religion say anything about love and tolerance of others?
I hate to say it, but pretty much every religion I know of has at least one passage somewhere that says something to the effect of "...and thou shalt go unto the land of the unbelieving scum and thou shalt smite them mightily until their blood is upon them etc. etc....."
This is a very big part of why I'm not religious, and I think it is also a big part of why the cathedrals in Europe become more empty with each generation. It is not possible to reconcile the "modern" ethics preached with the ethics described in the holy books; the disconnect is more than people can bear, and they turn away from religion.
Meanwhile, the religious fanatics of the Middle East continue to harvest the fruit of their fanatical devotion to their gods. If that is what they want to do, fine, but leave US out of it! Let the people of the Middle East sort things out however they are going to do it (since Isreal is a nuclear nation, I doubt they are going away anytime soon). So, let us back off, let them sort things out however they are going to sort them out, and then we can trade with whoever is left standing. The fact is that there will never be peace in the Middle East, so our involving ourselves over there in the name of "peace" is a fools errand.
Are these people whacked-out or not? They have been twisted so completely in their mentality there may be no hope at all for them. That's what happens though when you've been led by Nazis for 80 years.
