great protest, fellow freedom fighters. eight of the original 25 or so went for dinner around the corner from the reagan building afterward. when we were headed out to go home around 22:00, somebody suggested we make one more pass at the well heeled, tyranny celebration. off to drZ's car to get liberty bells, signs, etc., and we caught the criminals leaving the building.
after a pass around the front, engaging some tuxedoed control freaks with a comment or two, we stood by the parking garage exit, bells ringing. shortly after, a sleek minivan comes rolling slowly by, and the front seat passenger rolls her window down. not expecting anybody to actually talk with us, we keep up the noise, hurling a comment or two toward the open window.
eventually, it's obvious this lady wants to argue, so we sidle over and i holster my bell. she assures us that she doesn't want to take our guns away. blah blah back and forth, then she can't resist confirming the obvious after a pause.
"i'm sarah brady."
lol. yeah?
back and forth a little bit more (including her refutation of a written quote shown to her by a trt member), then this nice lady tells us something our parents should've told us years ago so we could've just accepted our lot in life w/o struggling:
"you're fools."
eventually the cops got pissed off because the brady van o' supreme goodness was blocking several cars from getting out of the garage, though we weren't keeping her there; she was. her driver was on the brake so she could continue to argue with us as we stood by the side of her van.
who'd the fed cops get pissed at and tell to leave? us. brady left first though. we presume the hci mascot was in the back of the van, a shameful, unfortunate decimal of his former self -- pawn for a heartbroken and frustrated wife who can't bring him back, but who can stow her pain by screwing with sons and daughters of liberty.
had a long discussion with some scary hci supporters away from the jb'd thugs at the garage. these new world order superiors so obviously don't know from shinola about the very subject which lies at the heart of their evening's purpose: guns.
offered to take them shooting so they could at least know what some of their buzzwords mean. "never been, never want to go."
i did have the pleasure of hearing what the 'gun show loophole' is. are these people all smoking from some secret pipe we don't know about?

That story is an urban legend (I've seen it attributed to many "interviews", but none of the sources check out) -- but funny (and true!) nonetheless...

That TRT member would be me, standing beside her teal green van (which matched her dress color or vice versa) with my "We The People Are The Militia" sign, and the quote was her saying that the 2nd amendment was an "anachronism" (quote is directly from the old HCI website) to which Sarah replied "I never said that; I don't even know what that word means - anachronism." Then she said that she didn't want to take our guns away and was only interested in safety and reducing violence. So I said, "So why won't you support successful programs such as the NRA's 'Eddie The Eagle'??"to which the wench replied in a fishlips inebriated stupor, "Oh, that's a horrible program"
Upon which I firmly told her "WE WILL NEVER GIVE UP MRS. BRADY!! ETERNAL VIGILANCE IS THE PRICE OF LIBERTY AND THE TRT AND OTHERS WILL NEVER STOP IN OUR DEFENSE OF LIBERTY AND THE US CONSTITUTION. Good Night."

That bullet did more than put Brady in a wheelchair, it castrated his reason. Sarah is acting like this because she feels her life has been given an inconvience of not having a physically perfect husband... instead of being elated that he is alive.
1. The police are not legally obligated to respond to calls for help.
2. Over 2 million Americans defended themselves last year by use of their firearm.
4. Over 180,000 911 calls in Los Angeles went unanswered last year (Jenna didn't have a fake ID last year).
5. Sarah carries her own gun like Feinstein.

As terrible as this sounds, and I hope y'all will take this in the spirit in which it was intended, it's almost as if it would have been better if Brady hadn't survived his shooting. His life is miserable, he's miserable, his wife is miserable, they both look miserable, and they're damned well bound and determined to make the REST of us miserable and light one freedom to boot.
If things had been otherwise, Sarah would probably have been remarried, getting a little, and staying out of the rest of our lives.

Actually, the quote was indeed in that issue of the "National Educator" magazine, but it was in a "box" on the side of the page, it wasn't part of an article and still needs to be investigated. Here's what someone wrote about the magazine:

We were among the most hardcore demonstrators who stood in front of the White House and the Vice President's residence during the 2000 presidential election controversy. We also provided the most effective pro-gun, grassroots volunteer leadership during the last election cycle, too.

I'm conservative in almost everything else, but I have to confess I'm pretty middle of the road on gun issues, so you may dismiss out of hand what I have to say, but I have real trouble understanding the level of your excitement over your little demonstration. Sometimes it's good to step back and imagine how you look from the other side...
Imagine the NRA had a fundraiser. Thirty ladies from the local Million Mom March chapter decided to let their husbands take care of the kids for a night and head down to demonstrate against the big bad NRA. They put on their t-shirts and brought their signs about how kids are good, guns are bad, etc. They stood outside the hall, waved their signs, blew some whistles and horns. Some people passing by looked curiously at them, a few stopped to ask a question or two. Meanwhile, inside the hall, the NRA raised a million bucks, did its thing, and chuckled about the gun grabbing nuts protesting outside. On his way out, Charlton Heston stopped and exchanged a few words with the Moms, and they told him they'd never stop fighting for gun control.
What would be your reaction to hearing about that? Come on, be honest. You'd ridicule it as an embarrassing and silly little performance. Personally, my reaction would be that I don't agree with a lot of what they say, but I have to give them credit for at least getting out there and expressing their views, which most people are too lazy to do. But if I saw on some anti-gun bulletin board that they were treating it like those Moms pulled off some incredible feat and giving them the sort of feedback you're getting for what you did ("impressive" "Bravo" "I love it" "hot damn" "you rock" "way cool" "it paid off in spades"), I'd think they were out of their minds.

the truth is that i would absolutely scoff at the mmm'ers in that position, because almost every one of them has not taken the time to research the issue about which they opine -- has nothing to do with where or how they do it. they lie to cover up their ignorance. they even lie about their numbers to portray themselves as 'middle of the road'. they use supposedly disarming language such as 'common sense gun laws', and think themselves geniuses for shouting 'murder is bad' and thinking that we do not agree. what they do not understand is that we are miles ahead of them on this subject, and that we probably care much more than they do about people being victimized, regardless of the implement.
if you think that we went there to change the minds of those at the celebration, you are wrong. we went merely to oppose, and let everybody we reasonably could know that there is tyranny behind those spanky white lies.
speaking of getting off fat behinds: if you're in the dc metro area, i offer you now a safe, free, and understanding trip to the firing range to educate you on solely the mechanics of guns (at your convenience). you may be surprised, if you take up my offer, at what that knowledge can do to get you out of the dangerous 'middle of the road' you avow as your current location on guns. i could speak for days about the reasons for honoring absolutely the second amendment, but there is one thing i learned from the sarah brady protest: don't waste time trying to convince people who are so damn lazy, ignorant, and lacking in curiousity and honesty that they won't take 4 hours for a trip to the range, ONE time in their lives, to see in real life what's really going on with guns. and i'm not talking about a girl scout visit to a .22 rifle range at the age of 12, or a brief turn with a skeet gun one day with your uncle. i have ZERO respect for anybody who opines on a subject about which he doesn't know anything first hand, and when given the chance, still refuses to change that sorry state.
have you ever used the term 'gun show loophole'? if you can't explain EXACTLY what that means (and it's obvious that anybody who spouts that phrase doesn't understand it, because there is no such thing), then you should remain silent until you further educate yourself. if you have ever, in concerned, sincere, and somber tones decreed pablum like "i'm not against the right to bear arms, but i think assault weapons should be banned", then i want to know, RIGHT NOW -- what is an assault weapon? out of all the anti-gunners i've questioned, not one has been able to answer that. should you meet me at the range (and i will be happy to provide references, both male and female, liberal to socialist, via private email), i will gladly explain those issues and many of the others which serve as the false base for an agenda which is nothing but fear, ignorance, and good intentions rolled into a big ball of control, MORE killing (otherwise known as 'unintended consequences'), tyranny, and deprivation of rightful liberty. good intentions alone usually make horrible law. read up on what happened to vicki weaver, and you'll know the ACTUAL result of the legislation which mmm'ers and sarah brady want us to have more of. don't even begin to think she's the only example. she's not.

it is still hard for me to believe the ill-informed arrogance. a woman at the sb freep looked me in the eye and told me that gun dealers don't have to follow normal rules at gun shows. i told her that she was wrong. she then said that she was sorry, but that i was wrong. lol. so i got real and asked her if she'd ever bought a gun at a gun show. "no." had she ever been to a gun show. "no." then i asked her how in the hell she had the balls to tell a person who recently bought 2 guns from a dealer at a gun show that she knows better what goes on at gun shows. these people hear one buzzphrase, then go on the jihad, tongues waggin, brains set on idle. if they only KNEW the hurdles we go through to buy guns from gun dealers. i must've put 150 miles on my car just to close that 2-gun gunshow purchase, and about 2 weeks passed between the gun show and the gun transfer. in addition, i was dq'd from buying any more guns for 60 days after that!
but hey, at least i'm not a threat to society anymore. ROFL. it's a wonder anybody can stay in business in the minefield the batf 'enforces'. my hat is off to every gun dealer in the nation who hangs in there during these silly times.

It seems quite suspicious that "foxylady" just joined FR yesterday (6/20). This often happens after successful FReeps of tyrants, such as Sarah Brady, and their shills. Professional provocateurs often suddenly "join" FR and then disguise their contempt for freedom fighters with posts written in saccharin sweet, yet "arrogant mean-spritied condescending liberal" tones.
Just thought I'd give you a "heads up" on their usual modus operandi on this public bulletin board. They often accomplish their mission by annoying us into engaging them in debates - which often wastes more of our time than theirs. They tend to use "hit and run" posts such as #76 above. Get my drift? ;-)
