PRISTINA, Yugoslavia, Sept 4 (Reuters) - Two peacekeepers were shot and injured in the provincial Kosovo capital Pristina early on Tuesday, a spokesman for the NATO-led peacekeeping force said.
The KFOR spokesman said four Kosovo Albanians were involved in the incident outside a Pristina nightclub and that one of them was also shot and wounded. A third soldier at the scene was unhurt.
The injured peacekeepers were taken to a field hospital near Pristina and military police were investigating the case, the spokesman told Reuters.
Giving a different version, a statement by the local KFOR contingent later said only one soldier was injured.
It said the three soldiers were off duty, in civilian clothes and without weapons at the time of the incident, which it said took place in a bar. It said they had been provoked.
