WASHINGTON, Sept. 6 /U.S. Newswire/ -- In an exclusive article published in today's Culture and Family Report, Robert Knight and Peter LaBarbera reveal a tantrum thrown by one of the nation's most prominent "gay Republicans." Knight and LaBarbera report that a homosexual District of Columbia Councilman boasted in crude terms about how he threatened Salvation Army officials over their policy on homosexuality.
"The remarks show that the 'gay' Republican agenda is all about advancing homosexuality by whatever means," said Robert H. Knight, director of the Culture and Family Institute, an affiliate of Concerned Women for America. "This display of sheer arrogance should send chills down the spines of freedom-loving Americans."
Recalling a phone conversation with a national Salvation Army official, David Catania related: "I said, 'this faggot controls federal grants in the district as well as local and you'll never see another cent as long as you live. I'll subpoena every one of you mother (expletive)s and I'll bring you down and I'll turn my chamber into a national circus. Do we understand each other?'"
The statement is in a posting on the pro-homosexual Liberty Education Forum Web site. Catania is quoted during a "Redefining the Gay Agenda" panel at the Liberty for All National Leadership Conference, held July 21 in Chicago.
Catania made news on July 11, 2001, when he threatened the Salvation Army and the Boy Scouts with cutting off city grants in the wake of a Washington Post report that Salvation Army officials had tried to reach an agreement with the Bush White House on the faith-based charity initiative. The Post had reported that Salvation Army officials wanted assurances that they would be exempt from local or state policies mandating special rights for "sexual orientation."
"It's time for Americans to rally around the Salvation Army, the Boy Scouts, and anyone else who is threatened by homosexual pressure groups who care more about their self-centered agenda than in feeding and sheltering the poor and homeless," Knight said.

But I thought gays were just asking for equal treatment by PUBLIC organizations/institutions? Sounds to me like they're now into coercing PRIVATE organizations to kowtow to their agenda.

When even a Republican homosexual can behave this way, it certainly makes it hard to believe that homosexuals generally can be good neighbors to the rest of us. But I beseech you all:
Judge each individual as an individual only, please! As much as I deplore their sexual choices, I concede that their bodies are theirs to pollute, and their salvation is their own affair. Shun them if you wish, argue against their politics and practices at every opportunity, but don't attach the odium justly earned by some to the shoulders of all.

I'm not sure why the homosexulas don't get it . . . being gay is not a civil right. It's a sexual orientation/preference/choice, period. The Salvation Army is a Christian organization that set standards of morality and conduct. The practicing homsexual lifestyle is not a part of Christianity, and if this institution only hires moral Christian people, then sorry guys, you won't cut it. All I have to say is sorry, do what you want in your own bedroom, but don't try to convine the rest of us that this lifestyle entitles you get jobs, be married, or any other special entitlement. Be gay and leave the rest of us alone.

Good comments.
"Be gay and leave the rest of us alone."
They can't - not if there's to be a next generation of "fresh meat". There is no "gay gene" and they don't breed so there has to be constant recruitment.

I have actually been sneeringly referred to by a gay I know as a "breeder". Cute, huh?

being gay is not a civil right. People don't have a right to engage in sexual activity with other consenting adults, behind closed bedroom doors?

You sure have the right to have sex with any consenting adult that you want, but its NOT a civil right. It's not a racial things, it's not a religious things, etc. Check the definition of "civil right".

Seems like the only cure for these blowhards is back in the closet.
Maybe a bigger padlock this time?

People don't have a right to engage in sexual activity with other consenting adults, behind closed bedroom doors? Is that the new definition of "gay"?

Typical leftist MO. They start by demanding "tolerence". Tolerence soon becomes "acceptance", then "approval", and ultimately intolerence of any who disapprove of them.

This is truly outrageous. Every decent person in Washington ought to give the highest priority to bringing down this despicable political thug. The Salvation Army should not have to worry about this person; he needs rather to have to worry about the decent people whom he is supposed to be serving.
As for the Boy Scouts, see The Boy Scouts Of America & A Leftwing Agenda.
Since Washington is a Federal preserve, the clown in D.C. is in the final analysis Congress's responsibility. People should demand a thorough investigation by the Committee on the District Of Columbia--give the bully back in kind just what he is threatening for others.
