CNN reported that Olson told her husband that the terrorists used knives and cardboard cutters. She talked to him twice during the hi-jacking. She also said that there was more than one hi-jacker.

Actually, I agree. A pilot has potentially hundreds of lives in his care while he's flying an aircraft. Makes sense to me to at least consider the possibility of arming them.

I'm SOOO GLAD that we so RIGOROUSLY ENFORCE the "no weapons" policy for both passengers and crew on our airlines.

Why just think of all the people that might have been killed (try saved) if the some of the passengers and crew had been armed.

Worse case scenario: The plane would have been lost, but the WTC towers would have been spared -- and that is where most of the lives were lost.

P.S. How come we are so terrbily afraid to bring weapons aboard airliners, but ALL THESE DAMN TERRORISTS were somehow able to get on these jets armed?

Let all who possess a concealed carry permit actually CARRY their weapon and maybe events like this could be avoided. After all it's just like a terrorist--bringing a knife to a gun fight.

Doesn't every El-Al (Israeli Airline) have 2 armed commandos on board? We are stupid, because we sacrifice liberty for security and get neither.

If anything good can come out of this, maybe we can get the restoration of our 2nd Amendment rights. How many plane and train and schoolyard tragedies must we witness before we finally realize that the only answer is good, honest, ARMED people to fend off these attacks.

Governor Gray Davis on the tv now... he's got absolutely nothing to do with this.. saying he does not want "reprisals" inside our borders. This is what he thinks of Americans? He is a cynical bastard...

CNN said that Olson was supposed to return yesterday, but couldn't make it. She only flew back to Washington DC to celebrate her husband's birthday with him. It's really sad.
