Al-Ahram: It's the US's own fault
Egypt's official daily Al-Ahram wrote today that America's "two-faced" and "unjust" policy in the Middle East is what prepared the ground for the barbaric attacks on New York and Washington this week, Israel Radio reported.
Despite our sympathy for their distress and our understanding of their anger, the editor of Al-Ahram writes, we have to ask the Americans to act intelligently.
The paper quoted Gen. Maguid Omar as saying the World Trade Center was targeted because it symbolized US control over the world's economy at the expense of the poor, and the Pentagon was hit because the US has employed blind force ever since Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

You don't need to look so far from home to find this sentiment. Witness the LIBERtarians with their finger-pointing at American interventionist foreign policies. Witness the LIBERals blaming Bush for lifting Clinton's "peace-keeping" policies in the Middle East.
Their take home message: America deserved this just punishment.
Let us, instead, stand united in condemming this barbaric act.

the World Trade Center was targeted because it symbolized US control over the world's economy at the expense of the poor, and the Pentagon was hit because the US has employed blind force ever since Hiroshima and Nagasaki. AP (NOV 6, 2002) Massachusetts' 5th district has elected Gen. Maguid Omar to the House of Representatives. Omar, who gained stature in the eyes of many Mass. residents with a series of altogether sensible comments last year, is still considerably more conservative than most elected representatives of the Commonwealth.

the Pentagon was hit because the US has employed blind force ever since Hiroshima and Nagasaki.Actually, the Pentagon was hit because the terrorists missed their target of the White House. What idiots!

If one hears the TV experts it seems the only reason for terrorism is that they hate US. Only very few comments have been made as to why. The Islamic world believes that Isreal gets to do what it does because of US protection and thus they are enemy as well. Another reason is presence of US forces in Saudi Arabia to protect king or whatever else. I guess the reason these two points are not being discussed widely is because no one in Gov wants to take a chance that the people may end up demanding return of forces from SA and may start to scrutinize mid-east policy.

Pompei(of the triumvirate), made his mark by subduing Mithridates in Asia Minor.
That anti-Roman terrorist butchered tens of thousands of Roman traders etc. Rome ended up running the world because the rotten state-forms around them were clearly seen to be inferior to the Roman Republic. Similarly, the artificially maintained tinpot regimes throughout the world are seen by their people to be radically inferior to Western governments.
America disheartens these ragged little Asscratchistans, because the people of America have achieved great things while their own 'divinely-inspired' leadership has achieved nothing.
As the fires of history burn these vermin from their nests, they will be praying for a window to leap from.
The Lord has delivered America's enemies into her hands.
God bless America!

Has anyone else noticed how some "Muslims" are sounding more and more socialist as the days go by? Then again, I supose it's not that new...

If any american policy prepared the ground for the attacks, it may the 3 billion US$ funneled to islamists in afghanistan, some of whic surely went to create the network bin laden now heads
