We can't hear you!

I can hear you... The rest of the world can hear you...
And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!

In years to come, they will be say, kinda like Dubya.

Now let me slip over to "Pray for Bush" so there are years to come.

I happen to see this while I was clicked on ABC with Pierre Jennings & little Georgie Stepinalotofit!

They both agreed (begrudgingly) that Dubya looked good without the suit mixing with the guys...they said that 'one on one' he is very formidable!

NY Rescue Workers Describe Efforts

By ALAN CLENDENNING and SARA KUGLER
Associated Press Writers September 14, 2001, 6:34 PM EDT

NEW YORK -- Every once in a while, in the middle of the night and in the middle of a desperate search for survivors, a firefighter would suddenly stop, sit down, and weep.

"The tears would just stream," said Alan Manevitz, a volunteer at the site of the World Trade Center disaster. "One guy threw up. You'd bring them a glass of water and they'd get back up and go to work."

Hundreds of searchers are picking through the piles of twisted metal, scorched paper and splintered wood, knowing there are nearly 5,000 people missing or already confirmed dead. They are finding body parts.

The crews are getting through the horrific task because they are "guided, consciously and unconsciously, by their training to help save a life," said Manevitz, a psychiatrist from New York. "Even though they're tired and sad and angry, they're determined and still going forward with things."

"We go to such extremes to save even one life," he added.

A windy rain added to the awful conditions Friday, but workers said they were still driven by the hope of finding someone alive.

Volunteer Fred Medins, 46, of Bridgeport, Conn., said that several times during the night, would-be rescuers thought they might have heard faint cries for help from within the slippery, smelly pile of rubble.

Shouts went out for quiet and all digging stopped. But not once was there another sound.

"We'd hope we'd hear something," said Medins, a construction worker, after a soaking 12-hour shift. "I was saying to myself, `Give us some sound. Give us some sound."'

James Symington, a Halifax, Nova Scotia, constable who was searching with Tracker, a German shepherd trained to find survivors, said he thinks there is one more person alive: "That's what keeps me and everyone else going."

Dennis Gino, 22, of Bricktown, N.J., was working as a medic, flushing eyes and treating blisters. He marveled at the physical and emotional stamina of the police officers and firefighters among the rescue workers.

"They're tired but they don't want to sleep because they just want to go right back out there and find people," he said. "There's firefighters and police in there still and they need to find them.

"It's like, sleep, wake up, go back out there," he said. "It's beautiful. It's a family working together."

Philip Lowenstein, 39, a fire department paramedic from New York, said his colleagues know the chances of finding people alive are fading.

"None of us would stop trying no matter what," he said. "But the reality is a little stark."

Michael Trovoni, a real estate man from Scarsdale, said he had been digging through the rubble with his hands. He described the smell of the pile as "burning, acrid, rubbery, metally."

He said workers found photographs, handwritten papers and ordinary items from workers' desktops.

"It's someone's personal life, someone's personal effects, who's probably -- may or may not be with us," he said. "It does give you pause."

Lowenstein said he had also found part of an airline engine. His partner, he said, had found the letter "A" from the side of the American Airlines jet.

Chris Matthews (MSNBC) was absolutely gushing over how well Dubya did and looked at the crash site. He said he's most natural when he's out of a business suit and in the middle of a group of people. Of course, he had to temper it with a snide remark about how he doesn't look natural in the Oval Office. Thank goodness he didn't take the next step and start complaining about Florida ballots.
